If Splatoon were a TV show, I’d imagine that the theme song would start out as the blue version since it makes it seem like it’s all fun and games, but as the characters find that it isn’t, it turns into the red version. Last, it would be the purple version since they’re aware that ink battling is super intense, but they’re living with it.
Honestly I'm double crossing my fingers for a Splatoon show or anime, it would be soooo nice to have, especially since most Nintendo cartoons/animes have great reception!

This reminds me of "hidden-horror" games (as I call them), the glitches and low pitch of the red version is the horror and the normal blue version is the non-horror parts. An example for this is spooky's jumpscare mansion.
