Personally, I'd like to see one that would look for the player's skin in the files, Use their current skin, And watch you, It'd copy YOU, Maybe even it's nametag. That way if it were on multiplayer it'd be able to fool other players, And not attack until you attack it, in which it'd form into an amalgam of skins and disappear, to copy you or whatever player was on the server, Feel that would be a good concept for a 'Horror' mob.
i was TERRIFIED of herobrine as a child. i had minecraft on my kindle fire, and loved to play around in creative mode. i found tunnels in my world that i didn’t create and freaked out. i didn’t touch my kindle itself for a while. legit thought herobrine was attacking my whole system.
same! but on my xbox 360 instead, i would see little 2X2 tunnels or vaguely pyramid-like structures and i would swear up and down that it was something herobrine had done
I like the man from the fog but the png jumpscare is kinda dumb. I don't mind most of these mods but the overly loud noises and the png jumpscares need to stop.
extremely true, i think the developers of these types of mods would benefit from a less is more approach. the mods do not need to be constantly screaming and blaring in your ears that "HEY I"M SCARY." if the creature design is good enough (and has decent sound design) it will do the job of scaring its audience on its own. also yes png jumpscares are pretty cringe imo
The One who Watches really needs changed, it basically outruns you, can't be killed, is way too common and hits too hard, I think it should deal less damage, have the ability to take damage/die (60-80 hit points seems fair), and briefly disable the player's shield via hit the way an axe would instead of disabling it for like a minute when spawning, so you can get at least one good use out of the thing
absolutely, as far as i know the developer actually updated the one who watches to make it appear less frequently, but it does still suffer from the rest of the things you listed
Im not someone who enjoys horror but playing the fog mod pack, or at least the herobrine mod with other Addons is fun. It still gives that feel of being watched and the jumpscares are also super random 😭 it’s subtle imo
In my opinion, the only good horror mods are, From the fog, the man from the fog, and the cave dweller, any other dweller mod is mid and annoying earrape, especially the one who watches
i feel like the only scary part of minecraft horror mods are just the fear of losing all of your stuff when you die which is somehow the only way they become scary and png jumpscares tbh arent scary, id rather have blindness than that, gotta say tho the only scary part to me in minecraft are the skeletons with aimbot that appear when you just dont have a shield, those got me more scared than the average minecraft horror mod
Spruce for planks and logs but ngl... Stripped birch can surprisingly make for really nice walls especially with darker color floors and ceilings like spruce planks/dark oak planks/black stone/deepslate
the shaders i used in this video were DrDestens MCshaders, although I would recommend using ComplimentaryReimagined shaders if your computer can handle it, as i have switched to those and think they look much better

that is honestly such a cool concept man! i would love to see it explored someday, it reminds me of the thing (love that movie)

very true, most of them are just pretty bad copies of the original dweller
