  • This is my 1970 Ford Galaxie 500. Big Sexy. Just installed a new set of Ridler 650 wheels gunmetal with the polished lip running on some new Kumho tires. I went with 245x45x18 up front and 275x40x18 in the rear. The front rims are 18x8. The rears are 18x9.5. This is a big block car with a 429 backed by a C-6 with a 9” rear with 4.10 gears. The car is lowered 2 1/2” upfront and 2” inch in the rear. Poly bushings on the sway bars and the front torsion bars. New steering components and new ball joints. Runs and drives tremendously better with the new wheels and tires. Not quite a pro touring car but as close as I’m going to get her without making major changes to the chassis and suspension. The car is a blast to drive with the added luxury of having enough room yo pile in the entire family and your friends family at the same time.
Some of the under hood mods include edelbrock 650 carb, new fuel system, dual electric fans with shroud, high volume water pump, upgraded 1 wire alternator, electronic distributor with MSD 6al/blaster coil/wires/plugs. This is a 70000 mile factor original interior car. Been loving Galaxies for about 10years now. Hope you enjoyed my video. I will be adding a blower next year for a little more go fast power. Stay tuned.

What a righteous ride. Those wheels look so right. Nicely done. I just love the galaxies. I have 69 country sedan 9 passenger. She’s a big girl.

Thank you for this video. I’m getting these rims in 18 inches, too, for my 84 Cutlass Supreme.

They are good wheels and very affordable. You should be very happy if you end up purchasing them.

@@70GalaxieMan for sure I’m going to buy them. I was just stuck with 18’s or 20’s. I think 18’s is the sweet spot.

@@buckaveli I like the 18s because I believe it gives you a little more meat on the tire vs the 20s and will ride better on the Highway. Good luck

Damn those wheels are ugly dude keep it old school with 15"

When it comes to wheels, old school sucks. Way too small in width and diameter and not in proportion to the actual size of the car. You can install little 15s on what ever car you like. That’s the beauty of this hobby. Thanks for the comment I appreciate it!

@Galaxie Man yeah ok that's why all the galaxie race cars run 14 and 15 inch tires including the la carrera and silver state classic right 😆

@@gypsyshot5225 maybe 50 years ago. Show me a race car today or pro-touring cars that run 15” wheels. You can’t. All the new street cars and race cars that are purpose built to handle run wider wheel and tire combinations. Please go away cause you sounding real silly now.
