My dnetist did this to two front tooth about 8 years ago to straighten out the chips I had in the teeth- except he made the entire surface a yellow colour. I asked why he did that and he said because my teeth are going to yellow over time. 8 years later all of my other teeth are white and these are yellow and they stand out. I wish I had told him at the time to redo them and make them white but you trust them to make the right call.
sounds like he's a real jackass.. back in late 70's i had a little chip in one of my big ass almost buck tooth and the dentist gave me a crown... all he needed to do is use a dremel and shave a little off... my mom should have caught this as bs...but i was 16 and new little about tooth repairs... the hard fake tooth wore down all my lower teeth over the years...some dentists are all about making extra money for sure..
Trounce, injection in your gum will be a bit painful ( front teeth , thin gum ) , but the rest should not be. If the tooth is already dead the treatment is not painful. The gum can cause problems but not tooth.

Also so not try and get teeth whitened after you have this done or false teeth will not change and you have what we call corn tooth. If you are a smoker, brush teeth with baking soda paste and finger tip before you go in to remove all built up tar. Be surprised how much yellow is due to smoke.
