What an incredible voice and so multitalented as well. Such a tragic loss when JEH died. Can't believe tomorrow will be 40 years since the horrible accident happened.
Very fun listening to music from 1979, Way simpler, happier times.. Jon's voice is amazing.. I agree he could have done DJ'ing, even voiceovers, Film preview Narrations too. Loved Voyagers. back in the early 1980's... Sad he's gone too.. I wish he was still in this present life with us..
So tragic people eventually concluded he was A HIMBO... a good-looking guy with brains of straw. Truthfully he was an educated thoughtful guy and very generous
Long time ago, i came across to a small clip from his radio days. I clicked play and OMG, his voice just overwhelmed my mind and said thats him! I haven't heard that voice since 1984. Well, actually the first time in 1982 sitting on the floor looking up and watching Voyagers! I hit play repeatedly..LOL!
Not surprisingly he was even a talented radio host! Yet another reminder of what a great loss this is to the entertainment world (not to mention to his family and friends) but it's really amazing how they've gathered so much material from his life, and the fact they share all these great memories with his fans around the world is just incredible, we appreciate this so much!
Nice work assembling this JEH aircheck. I did overnights in radio myself about the same time and i can confirm how quiet and lonely it got around 3am. On so many levels, JEH was an incredible up and coming talent. To this day, it's still so sad to think about losing him at such an young age.
Oh I'm SWOONING! I'm SWOONING at 3:10 in the morning till six!!! Who cares about work, I have to hear Yukon Jack!!! Love this, such a resonating and powerful voice. Why isn't anyone calling. I'd be flooding the switchboard! He'd know me by first name! LOL.
You're right! Better late than never! The reason Jon-Erik was on the graveyard shift was because he had class at Michigan State University during the day. Otherwise, I'm sure they could've put him on the morning show! That, and the fact that he had a tendency to throw the records over his shoulder after he finished playing them, which didn't go over well at some of the stations!
What an awesome video! Here's a great idea: wouldn't it be fun to record these little bits of Jack, and put them on your iPod? Jack's comments interspersed with your music, it would feel like he's the DJ on your own player! I especially loved his humor in these clips.
@LosAngeleno1959 How did you meet him? Can you share any memories about him. I loved the Voyagers...I was 14 when the show came out and 17 when he passed away. I was just devastated by how senseless his death was. Did you know his family? Do you know anything about his personal relationship w/ Meeno?
I forgot, how about adding clips when he throws the records when he's done..LMAO! :) Oh, can't believe how much i forgot how is voice sounded. Saw a newspaper clipping from several yrs ago and his last name can be found in this part of the country. Jon Erik rises again!
For years I thought JEH was just some dumb jock who deservingly won a Darwin Award and I'm sure I'm not alone. Actually, when I finally did some research, I found out that he really was a thoughtful, talented and intelligent man who deserved a long prosperous life and career. Unfortunately, one moment of frivolity, probably caused by extreme exhaustion took everything away.

What an incredible voice he had. And he grew into a very handsome man because he looks so different in his younger years.
hahaha YES, he BLOSSOMED into a GOD!!! He's hilarious making breakfast on that one show on here!!! He ate Count Chochula, Tang, insane!!!
He certainly had a voice for radio, certainly not a face for radio! He was one of the best looking men in Hollywood. So tragic.
He was a natural on the radio - very easy on the ears and also on the eyes! :)
What a voice! Smooth as silk!!
He had such an amazing and unique voice, thanks so much for sharing with us and keeping his memory alive.
Omg his voice is baritone perfect for radio so tragic gone to soon
Charismatic personality and voice !

Amazing that this was available.
Amazing voice and charisma! Such a talented guy!
Wonderful voice, and gone too soon. Miss him, and miss how FM radio used to be.
I love this. This is priceless.

IKR? I'd be like, "Play "Roll Out the Barrel" if you want, the request is unimportant--just talk to me for five minutes"--lol
What a Superman Wow !
In every aspect!
Never to be forgotten from now on !
❤
Damn, he had a GREAT voice!
I can learn how to get better just by listening to him
Wow. Just like his life, this was way too short. Thanks for posting.
HIS VOICE!!! WOW!

Love this... very special.

What a masculine voice and a very handsome man.

The Surfing Club of Lansing? I wonder if they're affiliated with the Cross Country Ski Club of Miami.
@moondog1320 Were you a friend of Jon-Erik's? Can you share any memories. I just love him...such a funny, talented guy.
Dude, Jack may have been easier to say but his mother named him Jon Erik. Didn't John Cougar go back to Mellencamp.

Does he say Billy Woel at 2:51?
His hair was straight what happened he did a perm when he started his acting career?
Maybe the weather in California helped it curl.
Never noticed this before, but nose job and braces.

JACK HEXUM was a betta screen name than JON-ERIK HEXUM...I wonder why he didn't keep it when he went to hollywood?
Hahaha...sounds like it, whoops!
Okay let’s get things straight, this is my friends great uncle. He is very upset and Offended by this
Your friend's great uncle? Your friend is Gunnar Hexum's grandson? And why is he "very upset"? This video was tastefully done.
If people knew how beautiful he was the phone would never stop ringing!!
