Amen!! I am a nurse and if I were not already a believer in God I sure would have became one after taking anatomy and physiology in college. I do not see how any person, let alone an educated healthcare provider or biologist, could not believe in God. We are so infinitely complex it is mind boggling.

There is no need to think that the intelligence behind all life is benign. The life of most animals, including ourselves, is usually quite unpleasant. We do the best we can to live a happy and comfortable life, but luck has a huge part. We get no help from the Great Designer. Not in our lifetime, anyway.

One of the arguments I've been using for quite a while now is that two of the greatest minds, who were evolutionists, didn't believe in evolution; ie Steven J Gould and Sir Francis Crick. Gould came up with Punctuated Equilibrium and Crick postulated Pan-Spermia.
The question I ask is, why? Why do two of the most brilliant men who purport to be evolutionists, feel the need to come up with theories that are radically different from from Darwinian Evolution? There is only one reason that makes sense to me; these men understood that the evidence does NOT support Darwinian Evolution; if the evidence did support it, why would they need to come up with such different ideas?
To me, that's proof, without having to go into all the details, that evolution is false.
So I brought this up to the teacher teaching a class called Science Denial and he insisted that Punctuated Equilibrium wasn't a radically different theory at all, that Gould was just 'tinkering around the edges' of the theory.
Question: how should I answer such a statement? The idea that rapid evolution in isolated environments, over and over, such that we never see the evidence strikes me as ridiculous on it's face. But he couldn't, or maybe wouldn't, see it.
I'm willing to entertain that maybe I'm the one misunderstanding Gould's theory. I don't see how, but I am at least willing to hear a statement that makes more sense than some hand-waving like 'tinkering around the edges'.

1. Eldridge's and Gould's Punctuated Equilibria model and the older Phyletic Gradualism model are simply alternate ways to explain how natural selection proceeds. PE envisages stasis, with occasional rapid events (cladogenesis) while PG holds that steady and gradual transformation is the norm. Debate continues. NEITHER model denies evolution by (mainly) natural selection . To even suggest that Gould "didn't believe in evolution" is perverse, to say the least.
2. Panspermia is an old idea. Crick's and Orgel's deliberate panspermia version was a new twist, way back in 1973. 20 years later they retracted this view in the light of greater knowledge of how RNA worked.
Anyway, a moment's thought would lead to the realisation that the origin of life on this planet is a red herring. However it occurred, it clearly did and how it did had NOTHING to do with what happened next. Natural selection can only operate on populations of living organisms.
Hoping that clarifies things a little.
Because Darwinism (it seems that term upsets the Darwinists, who prefer "theory of evolution") does not align very well with the evidence. They need to invent mechanisms that better explains the mechanisms. That is science. (While not abandoning the original theory, which shows Darwinism is not science).
the foundations of science were laid down by believers and they probably hate that fact.

Allowing a rough evolutionary paradigm human ages to creation paradigm human ages. Using the chart from 19 minutes and 30 seconds, 12,500 years old become 4,100 to 4,200 years old.

What I want to know is this...is This intelligent designer designing and operating in the universe?....or is the universe somehow more intrinsic to this designers being?
The universe would be essentially different, in-time and incorporate from the creator timeless and incorporal, so it can be imagined and argued, but from what little we understand less likely, and going on what the incorporal and outside of time being says Himself. This is an object and separate from Him.

Great video. If you are addressing a believing audience. But, so much left out. Which is also the case with the Genesis account. He mentions information multiple times. But, never explains why information theory is crucial. The fact is; all that is, is information. Therefore fundamental to a functional universe. That information must have been present at creation since information is conserved and all information begins as thought. No where is this fact addressed in evolution or any other "science".
The comparison to computers is interesting. But you failed to mention that even the tiniest life forms functions on a quantum computer level. Many levels of complexity above anything man has ever built. Explained by the Penrose-Hameroff theory of micro-tubual transmission of quantum code. Life is and always has been in direct communication to the creator. I firmly believe the entire universe vibrates in tune with the divine down to the Planch level and can explain how God did it.
The arrogance of Academics who insist on their particular "understanding" while dealing with maybe 1x 10 to the -1000000 of all that can be learned ( a complete exaggeration, it is probably far less) will always dumfound me.
Or as Richard Dawkins has proposed: an intelligent alien life form seeded our planet... it just can’t be God.

@@alanthompson8515 Great question Alan! How can we know the mind of God? According to Jesus we can't, unless we are born from above. When we are, the Holy Spirit indwells us and we are able to understand the Word (greek, logos - information) of God given to us in the Bible. Therefore, if Adam and Eve were symbolic and evolution is true then Jesus would not have had to die a literal death to pay for a fallen creation. So to believe in evolution and the Bible is inconsistent.

Why didn't we find other "intelligent" life forms so far? Why will we never find any? Because there might no other than us in this universe. Some form of micro organisms or bacteria wouldn't make me lose my faith. I was a naturalist for 35 years before returning to Jesus and this question still remains...

I believe that animals have a body and a soul, but only humans have a spirit which is why a lot fear death. So no, the kinds you mentioned wouldn't make me abandon my faith...

This all oozes 'too complex, so .. God'. Why make that jump, and not another jump ? Why not state 'we don't know' but we're investigating ? There are loads of errors in the 'design of the human body'.

@@hansdemos6510 it is what the card says, so in that case I stand corrected. Perhaps it is something I do not remember as in my memory the 286 already came with a 10Mb hard drive instead of two floppy disks. Might be that the US version still was delivered in this configuration.
@@hansdemos6510 as my father had a tax business he bought a Triumph-Adler CP/M machine for Eur 10.000, ith 64Kb RAM and two floppy drives. That was my first comuter. From that we went to a Tulip 286 with already 128Kb and one oppy with a 10Mb Harddisk. Even had Windows 1.0 on it which was kind of useless. Fun to think a modern watch has more power than those even if they did provide a full accounting rogram, word processor and spreadheet. Good times.
@@hansdemos6510 remindsme of my first programming achievement. In our administration program there was a time display, but it did not refresh. According to the programmer tat could not be done. One week later there was a menu shell for all program created by yours truly with a running time display. Nothing is impossible you just need to look at it the right way.
Intelligent design is undeniable to any rational person. When I was 20 and working with the Marines as a Navy Corpsman, I believe God used His design to convince me that he does in fact exist. I would walk into exam rooms and there would be very detailed pictures of things like the human eye, ears, skeleton, nervous system, and other things on the walls of the rooms. The human eye stood out to me in particular for some reason. I began to think about not only how incredible our anatomy and physiology was, but how other things in nature just didn't make sense without a Creator that allows life to exist on earth. I was agnostic at the time. During this time God gave someone to witness to me from Isaiah chapter 53 and the Holy Spirit of our Creator convicted me that not only did God exist and that He had created us, all living things, and was responsible for all the complexity of nature, but that He had sent His Son the Lord Jesus Christ to earth by the virgin birth and so our Creator became a man. A perfect and sinless man.
He was called the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Christ took all our sins upon Himself on the cross and shed His innocent blood as a substitute in our place. He took God's wrath for our sins upon Himself and paid for every single sin ever committed by all mankind. God says now that if you will believe that and admit you are a sinner who deserves God's wrath and that you are trusting in what Christ did for you on the cross of Calvary, God will forgive all your sins past, present, and future. God will give you eternal life as a free, unmerited gift by His grace. No amount of good works, rituals, church going, or anything else you can do will get even one sin forgiven. It is only by the shed blood of the innocent Lamb of God that you can be forgiven and cleansed of your sins. You can never deserve salvation from hell. It is by God's grace through His virgin born Son, the Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone. I trusted Him as my Savior and to forgive my sins back in 1977. Guess what, I STILL am forgiven and I know I will only have eternal life based on what the Lamb of God did for me on the cross.

The idea of evolution being a failed theory because it doesn't incorporate the reality of design, and that the number of puzzles that have come up between Darwin's time and now has evolution in crisis is a laughable mischaracterization to make in 2020. Evolution is as real as gravity(1), and more certain(2). We even know enough about our own development now that fun little top 10 lists about our evolutionary quirks show up on sites like Smithsonian.(3)
I'll remind Dr. Nelson that the reason they teach evolution in schools the way they do (in public schools, at least) is in no small part because of the decision in 2005's Kitzmiller v Dover Area School District trial. In his ruling, Judge Jones (a Republican appointed by George W. Bush) said that "ID fails on three different levels, any one of which is sufficient to preclude a determination that ID is science." Those levels are stated as "invoking and permitting supernatural causation," employing "the same flawed and illogical contrived dualism that doomed creation science in the 1980s," and "ID's negative attacks on evolution have been refuted by the scientific community." Jones added, "it is additionally important to note that ID has failed to gain acceptance in the scientific community, it has not generated peer-reviewed publications, nor has it been the subject of testing and research."(4)
In researching this response, I found that Dr. Nelson's own statements on intelligent design's shortcomings were used in testimony in the Kitzmiller trial, when the following quote was presented as a demonstration of the ID community's awareness that it is not a theory in the scientific sense: "Easily, the biggest challenge facing the ID community is to develop a full-fledged theory of biological design. We don't have such a theory right now, and that's a real problem. Without a theory, it's very hard to know where to direct your research focus. Right now, we've got a bag of powerful intuitions and a handful of notions, such as irreducible complexity, but as yet, no general theory of biological design."(5)
That begs the question for Dr. Nelson: In the last 16 years, how did we get from "We don't have such a theory right now" and "ID fails on three different levels, any one of which is sufficient to preclude a determination that ID is science" to "evolution is in crisis" and "get a better theory that incorporates design"? Please show your work.

PS - I genuinely didn't know about Dr. Nelson's connection to the Kitzmiller trial until after I had written the section about Judge Jones's decisions. I was just responding to the arguments on their own merits. But that was like watching a special on the news about the government illegally selling arms to other countries, and the contributor they have is saying things that sound so ridiculous that you end up looking it up to see if this Oliver North guy even knows what he's talking about. There are some really compelling contributors to Is Genesis History?, which I'll continue to try to learn from, but unless there's new evidence on this, the ruling on Dr. Nelson stands.
God i.e. Jesus Not only designed Us but he also gave us the way to live Eternally in his Grace, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. And gave us the Will to decide if we want to live Forever Or Suffer Eternally. Two Choices But Only One Way to Salvation aka Christ Jesus.
With the makers of these videos, one can argue that no, intelligent life does not exist in nature.

I.D. is based on countless observations. Random darwinian evolution was a lot easier to swallow back when the simplest unit of life, the single cell, was assumed to be a simple micro packet of primordial goo. It has since been shown to be comprised of myriad nano machines all acting in perfect harmony, and with fantastic, intelligent, purpose.
