Best ever start by an AFL team? Richmond v North 1995. 6 goals to nothing by the 8 minute mark!

- The Tigers got a little help from the umpires early but this may be the best start to a match by a side ever. Can anyone think of a better one?
(and yes, they did go on to win the match!) Спорт
Stewart Edwards, true gentleman. Studied Education at uni with him.
I'll never forget that night...awesome
2014 round 23, richmond vs sydney at scg. Richmond were 6-3(33) to sydney 0-0(0). Tigers were 6 goals up on sydney who were top spot at the time. Tigers went on to win their 9th consecutive game. Go tiges!!!
As a proud Tiger, Daniel I like your thinking!
On Saturday however we were only 5 goals not 6 and it took longer than 8 minutes. Statistically, I still think this game from '95 is the club house leader for best start. Last week's win was certainly more important though, I'll give you that!
Here's for 13 in a row eh?
I remember Daffy Duck, kicked us into the Preliminary Final that guy
essendon 15.7.97 v gold coast is the record for a first quarter
nort Melbourne kicked 8 goals straight against Essendon round 16 2001
Go Tigers
I must remmber when I was only 13 years ago my team the tigers have won once we beat north melbourne
next year 2015 tigers vs Kangas might be in bellerive wow awesome
Forgot about Stuart Edwards, how many goals did he end up kicking. Came from the Bulldogs didn't he?
14 games, 26 goals according to Wikipedia Martin. Had a basketball background as I recall. He looked like a fair player for a while.
OK, thanks, I don't recall him being used after Richo got injured
I can think of a much better one. North's first quarter against Essendon 2001. 12.1.73 to what, 2-3 goals? And without the help of the umps.
Who cares!!
You, seeing as you took the time to reply. Thanks, champ! Besides, he did ask the question.
Hey Conway Chris...
I never thought North would win that game from 2001 though - I felt Essendon would come back seeing they were on top of the ladder at that point - though I hated Essendon then, and still think they're scum.
I remember this game from 1995 though...I remember Archer's goal.
Yeah but Essendon won
+Ozziecar96 But...that wasn't the requirement of the question.
Is this Richmonds greatest highlight since 1982? :')
Intriguing that the Tigers had another MORE important game later in the year vs North… but got showed up when it COUNTED!! 30 point loss!! :)
