The Day of Atonement or Yom Kippur - Leviticus 16

  • Reenactment of the Day of Atonement, or Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar. As part of the ritual the scapegoat was selected, and the high priest (by the blood of the sacrifices) would enter the Holy of Holies of the Tabernacle and sprinkle blood on the Ark of the Covenant. The text of the video comes directly from the KJV of Leviticus 16:2-5, 7-8, 11-15, 18, 20-22, 24, 34.

The God of the bible is a bloodthirsty psychopath. His anger is born out of ignorance. If he was all knowing he wouldn't be angry nor surprised. He would never regret making creation as he did in genesis. People who worship jesus worship blood sacrifice magick. A god who needs sacrifices for forgiveness is incapable of forgiving without sacrifices. It's just a petty and insecure God who needs payment and constant attention from his creation.

@@johnadams9508 John, I can see your point of view, I have my concern with the necessity to shed blood for the forgiviness of sin, How I deal with that is I have to trust God and not myself or try to make my own rules. According to the Holy scriptures God talked to the prophet's and they wrote down what was said, I'm not in a position to disagree with that, so I must accept his way not what I want.

“As we will see in the story throughout the Bible, the temple (and the tabernacle, the mobile temple) draw their significance not from their physical structure but from the fact that God is present in them, relating to his people who come to worship him. Jesus proclaims quite clearly in Mark 13 (and elsewhere) that judgment is coming on the temple and on the Jews in Jerusalem who have rejected him as Messiah and King. Don’t miss this important point. In contrast to Jesus, the temple that King Herod built was insignificant. The irony is deep, but tragic. The temple was important only as it held the presence of God.
At the time of Jesus, God had not yet returned to dwell in the temple. That is, there was no “focused” indwelling presence of God in Herod’s Jerusalem temple until Jesus himself walked in the gates! As Immanuel (“God with us”), he was the one who could bring significance to the magnificent temple that Herod had built. But as the story sadly unfolds, we see that the Jewish leaders in the temple reject him and even execute him. Mark begins chapter 13 (in which Jesus predicts the destruction of the temple) with the telling statement, “As Jesus was leaving the temple . . .” Just as God departed from the temple that Solomon built just prior to the conquest and destruction by the Babylonians (Ezek. 8-11), so Jesus walks out of the temple that Herod built and proclaims coming judgment (by the Romans). Thus the magnificent temple of Herod later becomes merely a pile of big stones and not the residence of God and the place of human encounter with God. The presence of God and his encounter with his people are not lost, however, for Jesus tells us, “I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matt. 28:20).
After showing Ezekiel the first instance of idolatry (the idol situated right in the north gate entrance to the temple courtyard), God declares, “Do you see what they are doing-the utterly detestable things the Israelites are doing here, things that will drive me far from my sanctuary?” (Ezek. 8:6). God then proceeds to show Ezekiel the next three scenes of blatant idolatry being practiced right in front of him. Not surprisingly, in Ezekiel 9 God begins his proclamation of judgment against the inhabitants of Jerusalem. In Ezekiel 10, the prophet sees the same vision of God that he had seen back in chapter 1. That is, God is seated upon the throne of a four-wheeled chariot-like wagon, accompanied by four cherubim, each with four wings and four faces. Ezekiel realizes that these were the same “living creatures” he had seen a year earlier (Ezek. 1). Now as they emerge from the temple accompanying God and the chariot-throne, Ezekiel realizes that they are cherubim, and he calls them by that term.
Ezekiel now describes the slow (is God reluctant to leave?), gradual departure of God from the temple. Accompanied by fire and a great cloud, along with the roar of the cherubim’s wings, the “glory of the LORD” first rises up and moves to the “threshold” of the temple (9:3; 10:4). The threshold is the horizontal bottom support for the doorway frame that extends across the doorway opening on the ground. This is probably the doorway just beyond the porch that leads from the porch into the holy place of the temple. From this location God speaks to some of his attendants, pronouncing judgment on the idolatrous Israelites in Jerusalem. Then along with the cherubim, the “glory of the LORD” departs from the threshold of the temple and moves to the east gate entrance that leads into the temple courtyard (10:18-19). There God pronounces additional judgment on twenty-five men at the gate who are probably elders holding court (11:1-13). Next the cherubim and “the glory of the God of Israel above them” exit the Temple Mount and Jerusalem completely (11:22-23), stopping above the mountain east of the city (the Mount of Olives). Ezekiel is then returned to Babylonia (11:24).
When he completes the temple (960 BC), Solomon places the ark in the most holy place (1 Kings 8:1-9). It is still there in the time of Jeremiah, because the prophet mentions it. Near the beginning of his ministry (627 BC), the prophet Jeremiah states that a time is coming when the ark will cease to exist. Furthermore, Jeremiah boldly states, it won’t even be missed or replaced (Jer. 3:16). Since the people of Jerusalem and Judah refuse to listen to Jeremiah and continue to worship pagan gods, the Babylonians conquer Jerusalem and destroy the temple after first looting it. Jeremiah 52:17-23 and 2 Kings 25:13-17 describe how the Babylonians plunder the temple and carry off the valuable items of bronze, silver, and gold. Yet there is no mention of the ark of the covenant.
The presence of God departs from the temple before the Babylonians arrive (Ezek. 8-11). Thus there is no longer any holy and powerful presence of God protecting the most holy place. In all likelihood, the Babylonians capture the ark and take it back to Babylon with them, along with the other captured items. Perhaps they melt it down, either in Jerusalem or back in Babylon. The silence of the biblical texts in Jeremiah 52 and 2 Kings 25 is probably due to their view of the ark as still sacred. Even though God’s presence no longer dwelled above the ark, perhaps the biblical writers just could not write about the capture or destruction of the ark. At any rate, Jeremiah’s prophecy is fulfilled. The ark disappears, and later the presence of God will be restored through the incarnation of Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Thus Christians today do not miss the ark or feel a need to construct a new one.”

Good question. The Bible does not tell us how, or if it was cleaned, but it would make sense that it would need to be cleaned. The way I explain it is that just like when we write in our journals, we rarely say how or that we even cleaned our house, and it does not mean we did not clean it. Probably the same for this. Can't say for sure, but that is my opinion.

LEVITICUS 16:7-10,15-16,20-22 , " 7.And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
8And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat.
9And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD'S lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.
10But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.
15.Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the vail, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat:
16And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness.
20.And when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat:
21And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:
22And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.
THE GOAT FOR THE LORD REPRESENTS JESUS CHRIST DYING FOR THE SIN THAT ADAM PUT ON ALL MEN . WE ALL COME FROM THE SEED OF ADAM ; SO WHEN ADAM BROKE THE COMMANDMENT THAT BRINGS ON DEATH , HIS SEED WAS CONDEMNED TO THAT SAME DEATH ; WHICH IS THE DEATH OF THE GRAVE : THAT IS WHY A NEW BORN BABY CAN DIE , NEVER DURING ANYTHING GOOD OR EVIL .
THE LIFE OF THE FLESH IS THE BLOOD , SO BLOOD HAD TO BE SHED BY SOMEONE STILL PERFECT BEFORE THE LORD ( FATHER ) , TO RECOVER THE ONE CONDEMNED TO THE GRAVE .
THAT IS WHY THE FATHER HAD TO PREPARE A BODY FOR JESUS , BECAUSE IF HE CAME DIRECTLY FROM THE SEED OF ADAM , HE WOULD ALREADY BE UNDER THAT SAME CONDEMNATION OF DEATH .
BY LIVING A LIFE WITHOUT TRANSGRESSING THE LAW WHICH BRINGS ON DEATH , HE WAS NOT WORTHY TO DIE ; WHICH HE DIED NOT FOR HIS SIN , BUT PAID THE PENALTY FOR THE SINS OF ADAM AND ALL OF HIS SEED ; THE FREE GIFT .
THE EARTHLY TABERNACLE OF THE HOLY AND MOST HOLY IS TO KEEP GOD FROM KILLING YOUR BODY WHEN YOU SIN , BUT DEATH OF THE GRAVE WAS APPOINTED TO ALL ADAM SEED AT HS FALL .
THE WAY INTO THE HEAVENLY TABERNACLE ( ETERNAL LIFE ) IS NOT MADE MANIFEST , WHILE MAN IS STILL CONDEMN TO THE DEATH OF THE GRAVE .
NOW ADAM AND ALL OF HIS SEED WILL BE RESURRECTED FROM THE GRAVE ; WHICH IS THE FIRST DEATH ; BUT CAN WE LIVE WITH THE FATHER , IF WE DIED IN OUR SINS ?
THE SCAPEGOAT REPRESENTS JESUS CHRIST RESURRECTION , AND APPEARING BEFORE THE FATHER IN THE THIRD HEAVEN AS THE MEDIATOR/ INTERCESSOR , FOR THE ONES WHO REPENT OF THIER SINS WITH A SORROWFUL HEART ( MIND ) LIKE KING DAVID , THEN BELIEVE BY OBEDIENCE ; WHICH IS KEEPING THE COMMANDMENTS OF THE MEDIATOR JESUS CHRIST ; WHICH HE RECEIVED FROM THE FATHER ; THIS IS YOUR FAITH ; WHICH RECOVERS YOU FROM THE SECOND DEATH , THE LAKE OF FIRE .
THE PRIESTHOOD OF FAITH ( MELCHISEDEC ) HAST BEEN FROM THE BEGINNING ( ADAM ) , BUT BLOOD HAD TO BE SHED TO RECOVER MAN FROM THE GRAVE .
ADAM CONDEMNED ALL OF HIS SEED TO THE FIRST DEATH , THE GRAVE ; BUT THE THINGS THAT WE DO OURSELVES AGAINST THE LORD COMMANDMENTS , ARE THE THINGS THAT PUT US IN DANGER OF THE SECOND DEATH , THE LAKE OF FIRE .
1 JOHN 1:5-7 , " 5.This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
JESUS DID NOT COME TO DO AWAY WITH THE LAWS OF THE FATHER , BUT TO RECOVER US BACK TO THE POINT BEFORE WE BROKE HIS LAWS ; SO THAT WE MAY OBEY THEM .
THE SCAPEGOAT IS NOT SATAN , BUT JESUS CHRIST .
LEVITICUS 23:10-11 , " 10.Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:
11And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.
    HEBREWS 10:12-14 , 12.But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
14For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
JESUS IS THE FIRSTFRUITS FROM THE DEAD , OR THE LIVE SCAPEGOAT ; WHICH MUST PRESENT HIMSELF BEFORE THE LORD ( FATHER ) , TO BE ACCEPTED FOR THE PEOPLE ( BECAME OUR HIGH PRIEST OF ATONEMENT ) : ON THE MORROW AFTER THE SABBATH .
1 CORINTHIANS 15:16-17 , " 16.For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
17And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
JOHN 20:17 , 17.Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
PSALM 110:1 , 1.(A Psalm of David.) The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
I SEE TWO LORD'S HERE , THE FATHER AND THE SON .

Hello all! Im a Christian and im trying to better understand my OT, my God and Jewish brothers and sisters better. Correct me if I'm wrong. But, this Yom Kippur Day of Atonement sacrifice was yearly. This was to cleanse ALL Israel of its sins as a whole for the past year. However, throughout the year people would bring their own sacrifices throughout that year for a specific sin they felt needed an attornment for. Because of this, God lists the various things that would be acceptable for a solo person to bring for this personal act. For example cattle, grain, fowl ect..ect.. Do I have this correct? Also, ONLY Yom Kippur sprinkled the blood on the mercy seat. The other atonement's made throughout the year people did did not go into the mercy seat area?

1:53 The priest should sprinkle the blood upon the mercy seat eastward. East direction is towards the veil.
In other words, the priest should sprinkle it from behind the mercy seat toward the eastward direction

    • @messagesofChrist
      @messagesofChrist  4 года назад +1

According to Leviticus 16:14 it states: "Then he must take some of the blood of the bull, dip his finger in it, and sprinkle it on the east side of the atonement cover. He must sprinkle blood seven times with his finger in front of the atonement cover." Notice it says east side of the ark, or the front, which would be where I have it shown in the video. There is debate about if it was on top, or on the side, but the original Hebrew is just not clear enough. Most Jewish sources actually have him sprinkle the blood both on the side and the top just because they don't know for sure. I choose to only show on top because it easier to see in video, and it is still supported because the Hebrew is not clear.

    • @Redmi-gi9nl
      @Redmi-gi9nl 4 года назад

@@messagesofChrist yes, but is it not the east side toward the viel... ? Because in exodus 26:35 it says
      KJV Exodus 26
35 And thou shalt set the table without the vail, and *the candlestick* over against the table on the side of the tabernacle *toward the south:* and thou shalt put *the table on the north side.*
In other words, just as you mentioned in the video, the table of shewbread is toward the North side , So does that not mean that the east side is toward the outer courtyard facing the veil ?
Therefore the priest had to sprinkle it upon the mercy seat facing the veil standing from behind the mercy seat.
Just wanna make sure if that is how it is, since the east side is toward the veil

@@Redmi-gi9nl Eastward would be towards the veil (meaning the backside of the ark), that is correct, but the passage says the east side, not eastward. So when the high priest enters (going from east to west) then the east side of the ark would be on the side closest to the veil. You are correct that the menorah is on the south side, the table of showbread on the north and the ark towards the west. So again, as the high priest enters going west, he would then reach first the east side of the ark. Hope that makes sense, and glad you have enjoyed the videos!

This concept has a much deeper meaning than we are taught in the Bible or in the church. The escape goat is sent to azazel. The israelites are prescribing all Sin 2 this goat. In the same way in the book of Enoch. azazel Is prescribed all sin. You must read the book of Enoch. Not for salvation, but for truth to understand what the fallen angels had done to cause the flood of Noah.

I have another video coming out on hopefully Tuesday (the start of Yom Kippur or Day of Atonement) that will hopefully help explain. There is a lot of symbolism that points to Christ. Fulfilled, but powerful to learn about, as this is what the people would have known and seen every year. It helps us better understand the setting for things like "scapegoat" and "atonement" as this is what the people would be thinking when these terms would be used.

We don't. Jesus was Jewish, simple fact. It would be disingenuous to not understand the historical context for his teachings.
