- If you have or just purchased a Hobie Outback or PA12 this video is for you. Any time you are in Water or on Land, with all your gear on the Kayak (Check it Out) this is the easy way to place the cart in the scupper hole without tipping over.

I seen another video the guy wanted 50$$ or so.for a little kit he made and I knew damn well it was just a bungee but you made it look doable thank you sir
Great idea ! Just installed my Boonedox landing gear, expensive but does great. If I had seen this earlier, I would have tried this much less expensive idea first.
Didn't think much as I'm a new Hobie owner but god damn, what a hassle installing the cart having to remove most of the stuff just to tilt. This will be my next mod. Felt like an idiot at the lake struggling. Lol
s302jzget ya after an entire season kayaking, I just found this now... feel pretty dumb now that I didn’t know about this lolol
I’d like to see that pvc cart with casters thing your Outback is stored on in greater detail.
I have garage envy. So full of useable space.... Kids equals multiple bicycles, 4 wheelers, kayaks etc.
Can you show how this works in water at the ramp? I have a hobie lynx and I’m an older female and need a solution to the load out at the ramp as the cart floats and make it very difficult in me to get it in the holes. Thank you so so much. 😊
Awesome! Thanks for the ideas
Great tip!!! I also find this configuration useful to leash the cart wheels to the kayak while kayak is on the stand in the garage, that way I don't have to worry about wheels "wandering" or rolling away in garage. Also found you tip useful to create my own leashes for paddle, mirage drive, accessories, etc instead of buying the pre-made ones on line. Thanks again. -- Subscribed to your feed.
Dude, you should make and sell those. I see money in your future!
Great Video Thanks. What number clips ( Size) # 1 or 2
Thanks for the in-depth explanation! I appreciate it... subscribed
Hey man. Built the cart as specified in the video. In theory and on the video it works but in “ my” real world using of the kart it is a fail. for me.
First after you put all your gear and tackle in the kayak it becomes a much different kayak than in your video. Especially in a kayak launch situation. Getting the kayak to sit on the cart to start off with before you lift it to grab the bungee is a job within its self. The Outback wants to rock to one side or the other.
Long story short it was a chore with the cart for me with the kayak loaded as it is trying the old way. Your build in the video is sound though and the instructions were right on point. The cart turned out great it just don’t work for me as I was hoping it would. Hope it helps others.
Dang smart idea! Thank You!
Any I can do to help Saito. Make sure you sub for more videos to come
Pretty cool idai I'm going to try it! ... subscribed
Yep. Good idea. Cheaper than a Boonedox for sure
Derek Bushnell that’s right don’t forget to sub
Thnx for this video. I've seen another video showing this same concept. On the other video, instead of using bungee cord, he uses a rope to pull from the back of the kayak. I'm going to try with the bungee cord, if that doesn't work I'll try the rope.
I just put on the boondox landing gears to solve this issue. But this is definitely a cheaper way of doing this that’s still effective!
I still want to see someone taking it out of the water the same way.
Great video. Thanks!
This is being done to ours today! Lol
I want to see the seat you have in your yak. Is it factory?
Any way to lock it in the scupper holes so if you want to put the cart on while in the bed of my truck I can off load with wheels in place?
MrBigFishJoe you can use the bungee. Twisted and wrap it around the seat
Thanks for the awesome tip
When your at the launch without the cradle on your shop floor do you just lay the cart flat and set the kayak on it then lift the kayak up for the cart install??
I have the wheels on when I’m offloading it from my truck when I am coming back from fishing and need to insert the cart wheels back on the kayak on the launchpad I do it on the water. What I do is place the wheel behind the kayak and do the same process as seen on my video The wheels float behind the yak. By doing it on the water you minimize doing any scratches to it
Well Done! Thanks. I subscribed also.
I’d like to see the cart build as well. Thanks
Nice video, what is the diameter of the bungee? Thanks
It's just regular size
Tassos Manolas Greece.I want to buy a second hand outback and if you Kind to send me the exact measure of the center of the holes and the total height in mm.I thank you very match
Cool mod. Thanks
Très astucieux. Bravo et merci du partage.
Not what the video is about but thanks for the idea for a simple kayak storage cart
Jason Lundquist this is not for storage it’s for transportation from water to truck or viceversa
Jason Lundquist Mauro is correct this is not for storage
But do that at the ramps
I hate the fact that it such as easy solution. Wish I knew before my first session on the yak this morning..
