my honest reaction to seeing a big orange man break out of the cube that was meant to imprison him:
Personally, I feel like one of the most suffered people in Greek Mythology was Prometheus, who was tied to a rock and had his liver eaten by a bird and regenerated to repeat process once more. This was because he gave fire to humanity, letting them advance into something greater, and it's sad how he had to suffer such an awful fate.
Edit: Not to be one of those people... But, thanks for the likes! I do enjoy the people having discussion in the replies, I always like to see people have interesting and positive discussions about things. : )

As the quote goes “You can’t escape”. This means that you cannot escape the suffering of failure, which will happen over and over again in this challenge. It also demonstrates how this will hurt and how the challenge will destroy you until you just want to quit.

I was genuinely so distressed when the ball fell that many times. I felt like I was doing it myself despite only being a spectator. The disappointment and the burning flame of failure singed my conscience and left me utterly devastated. In the end, he finally got it. He won, but at what cost? I still feel dissatisfied in a way. The prize was only a mediocre badge with no followup. How sad.

I like how there's a game based off of Greek mythology, because I personally like it. For example, there was this guy named Tantalus that got punished by cooking his son to feed the gods when they visited. The gods later made it so Tantalus couldn't eat for eternity.

As I sat here, witnessing the grueling feat of pushing that massive boulder up the towering mountain, I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of distress. Each time the ball rolled back down, my heart sank a little deeper. It was as if my own hopes and dreams were tumbling down with it, descending into a seemingly endless abyss. I had invested so much emotional energy into this endeavor, watching the struggle unfold before my eyes. Every time the boulder gained a little ground, my spirits would rise, only to be shattered once again as it inevitably lost its footing and crashed back down. The repetitive cycle of failure began to wear on me, and I couldn't escape the feeling of disappointment that engulfed my being. Eventually, against all odds, he made it to the top. The boulder finally reached its intended destination, conquering the seemingly insurmountable mountain. But instead of jubilation or relief, I was left with a hollow sense of mediocrity. It was as if the victory had been diluted by the countless failures that preceded it. Perhaps it was the sheer number of times the boulder had fallen, the repeated setbacks that had eroded my sense of awe and wonder. Or maybe it was the realization that even reaching the pinnacle didn't bring the expected sense of fulfillment. The climb had become a symbol of resilience and determination, but now that the summit was reached, it felt strangely underwhelming. In my mind, I had built up this grand narrative of triumph against adversity. I had imagined that the successful ascent would bring about a profound sense of accomplishment, a triumph that would resonate deeply within my soul. But instead, it felt lackluster, as if the struggle itself had become the defining feature rather than the ultimate achievement. Perhaps it was a lesson in managing expectations, in understanding that the journey is often more important than the destination. I had invested so much emotional energy into this endeavor, allowing my hopes and dreams to be intertwined with the boulder's progress. But in doing so, I had neglected to appreciate the process, the resilience, and the growth that occurred along the way. As I stood there, contemplating the mixed emotions swirling within me, I realized that sometimes the most profound lessons are learned through disappointment. It was through this experience that I came to understand the fragility of success, and the importance of finding fulfillment in the smallest victories, rather than fixating solely on the end result. And so, as the boulder teetered at the top of the mountain, I let go of my initial expectations and allowed myself to appreciate the journey for what it was-an arduous and transformative endeavor. In the end, it was not about the boulder reaching the peak but about the growth, resilience, and self-discovery that had taken place along the way.

for those who want more details on the story of sisyphus
one time the greek god of death (thanatos) had the order to kill sisyphus, so apparently thanatos came to his house, but sisyphus tricked and sent thanatos unconscious for a really long time. and without the god of death, people stop dying, which puts hades, god of the underworld, out of business, so he complains to zeus, the most powerful of the olympian gods and then i think a disguised zeus came to sisyphus’ house and he awoke thanatos and then thanatos killed sisyphus which sent him to the underworld. sisyphus requested to speak to hades and for whatever reason, this request was accepted, but when he got to hades he convinced (read; tricked) hades into reviving him and sending him back to the upper world because his wife didn’t do the proper burial rituals, and he lives for a really long time. after several decades zeus asked about sisyphus, who hades forgot about. so zeus went back over to his house and killed him again, and sisyphus was sent to the fields of punishment (ancient greek hell) and his very famous punishment of rolling a rock up a hill was made into a game, which you now see some loser comment the story of said sisyphus
bye
oh yeah also, sisyphus was told to roll the rock up the hill and then he could live out eternity as a regular tortured soul. but he soon found out this was impossible, because he couldn’t take breaks to breathe or he would be whipped by a fury (sort of like a hadean goon) and he physically couldn’t get the rock up the hill.
bye.
