I hold the belief that part of the reason Venat chose you as her Champion later on is not just because of what you went through together but its this fight in particular. She held the rank of Azem, and was powerful enough on her own that she was pleasantly surprised you were able to survive her limit break. Proving that you are strong enough to stand up to even the likes of her, arguably one of the most powerful entities in her world at the time. This was not just a fun sparring match, she was training you, evaluating you in her own way. Venat was honestly the absolute best character in Endwalker. One thing i love about this song, is it subtly lets you know venat loves us and all life that shes effectively willing to plant a tree that she will never sit under the shade of. What a beautiful character nuance.
It’s crazy because I had lost all hope, I was losing everything I owned and all I had at the time was my FC, my friends, and this beautiful game. I wanted to see the end of the story so I wanted to wait until it dropped before ending my life. This expansion changed my mind. Endwalker taught me to forge ahead and I will continue to do so with my head held high.
as machinist, I felt the dancer segment of the fight was like watching two souls preforming with their fury and passions... flipping around her while she twirled in the middle, simply amazing.
Playing PLD for this instance felt like what the PLD questline was going for but failed; two good-hearted warriors proving their worth to each other and themselves by clashing blades. An RP group I was in had a character who, after assimilating the cosmic concept of Truth (we were years into the story at this point and ofc prepping to kill god like you do), could perceive peoples presence as music and so each character had a melody that defined them. It’s a very nice concept and I love how much of it FFXIV has.
I'm listening to this again in so long, and I almost immediately started sobbing. Endwalker was such a nonstop gut punch and I loved every second of it.
I love her, XIV creators are just genius now I think of it, they revealed this mysterious, mystical, profound, powerful being that is Hydaelyn wich have protected us from the very beginning on our quests and managed to make her story not dissapoint or be underwhelming in the slightest and infact gave us her story that to me is even more beautiful than our entire journey as WoL and as the player itself. There's something that hits me in the very soul with this battle and in general with this part of the story. When I reached this Duty, I only had three Jobs at 90. And they were Gladiator, White Mage and Dancer.
I’m somewhat new to the game and just yesterday finished Endwalker but I saw this comment and somehow it resonated with me. But in a different way. They weren’t all at 90 but my preferred jobs felt like mirrors to these (Dark Knight, Black Mage, and Reaper) and idk how to feel
"Hush, love, close your eyes, and in sleep abide as sun's distant light echoes down to dreams below. Know you will wake, on winds rise again for this journey's end is but one step forward to tomorrow."
This fight was sort of ironic, in a good way, because while we're fighting Venat to prove how strong we are, we've only come this far and become this strong with her protection and support. At the time you're just showing off so that Argos respects you, but I like to think that in the WoLs mind, really, they're showing Crystal Mommy how strong they've gotten- or, from Venats perspective, WILL become- thanks to her :') And for her it comes full loop- the first time she meets you she spars with you, and then thousands of years later she says goodbye to you by fighting you as Hydaelyn.
theres no way words could ever truly describe the way i feel about this story. the pain, the heartache, the sorrow and despair, but also the hope, the happiness, the joy and most of all the love. there is no word, sentence, paragraph, nothing written will ever full capture the emotional depth and broadness this song along depicts. the reunion of mother and child, a battle between friends, a test for the trial to come, a declaration of hope, and the simple pleasure of battle. this track alone never fails to tear me up, even if a little bit. at once it rends at my heart, but it also sends my soul into flight, flying ever onwards into the future, forging ahead. thank you venat, we will never forget you
Words cannot express how happy I got when I saw the first moves she was using was PLD as a PLD main and going into the instance as one Good song and good fight
You know its quite interesting that while Venat (not Hydaelyn, at this point she is no longer Hydaelyn the primal but Venat, our friend) is clearly singing this to us, I cant help but feel she is also singing to Meteion. This song plays as the background for the cutscene where we finally show meteion that the universe isnt full of despair, that there is hope and joy and laughter in it. And a lot of the lyrics seem to be crying to a lost friend who has lost all hope. Such an impactful song, and I didnt deserve the emotional damage it caused.
I think it's worth mentioning that the only other time that Flow (the regular version) plays is when Hydaelyn is dying. You hear Flow during Venat's final moments because she's giving her message to you, and it plays when you save Meteion because you're relaying Venat's message to her.
I don't think it's about Meteion, I think it's Venat's message to the Warrior of Light. She sings about returning to the Eternal Sea, and meeting souls ascending as the WoL descends. It's a song about the WoL's death, and sharing his story to Venat when they are reunited. Meteion is not an Ascian/Ancient/someone with a soul, she's a construct, I don't think she's bound for the Aethereal Sea. Also the first line is " Well come and well met, my brave little spark ", which seems like something Venat would call the WoL.
Just finished the Alpha/Omega yellow questline you pick up after Endwalker and got this song as its reward (plus another emotional gutpunch, thank you SqEnix)
We seriously need a mode that is just repeating or even upscaling some of these solo trials. I'm literally playing newgame plus more than a little to do the solo duties. You know, people debate Endwalker vs Shadowbringers. And while i agree Emet is a fantastic final boss fight, try and tell me Endwalker doesnt have 3 of the best solo duties in the one where you're powerless(even if it was hard as hell in its original version), Venat, and Zenos. Between throwing hands with some very big lore characters and the solo instances and then having two of my favorite zones in all of gaming, I have to give Endwalker the edge. These fights are so damn fun.
Whenever I can't sleep, this song will be my lullaby. I tired all day from works and stress, this track cease those worries and accompany me till I sleep, of course, with tears
Also a fun thing I noticed: In Eden 8’s second phase, the orb mechanic is also present! And who is Ryne basically acting as besides the Ice Primal (Ysayle/Shiva)? That’s right- Hydaelyn (Minfilia in this case). Very fun and fitting how Venat has the motifs throughout her varying battles
When I first started the game all those years ago, I felt like you would at one point fight Hydaelyn, because I felt that this, being a final fantasy, she was manipulating you. And I was sure that was the case after certain events in Shadowbringers. But then you do fight her. Not like this, mommy. Not like this. 😢
Venat told us the current Azem (unsundered us) managed to surprise her with their strength even though they were 3 times less her age, if we manage to meet Azem face to face and fight them we'd get clapped to oblivion.
@@mistergiraffe9425 Oh, yeah, I guess I could've used potions, that might've made it a lil easier. I just learnt my steps, gritted my teeth and laid my lines. Lol
No, it didnt happen. It looks like close fight but really it isnt. Its kinda scripted for each job that you have to eat AOEs to lose. She will deal lower damage when you are low. I did this on a tank and she was dealing enough dmg with her auto to kill any DPS in few seconds, theres no way that this fight is tuned same way for DPS for example.
Part of the reason this song will remain own of my favorites from 14 is that Venat herself taught many of us that pain, sorrow and suffering come with life, but so does happiness, triumpth and strength. She endured for millenia until we assured her we could take care of ourselves. Then, and ONLY then, did she feel ready to rest. For us, it should be the same. Carry on, no matter how harsh the tides, and once we feel satisfaction, we shall join her. Journey on, my brothers and sisters in arms, for Azem still waits for us to tell her of our journeys.
Man this fight on normal was hard as hell. The last phase with the balls you gotta kill I really struggled with gcd management to get them all, I wiped so many times on that last phase but I never lowered the difficulty. I wanted her to be proud of me
i did the fight as SCH because it was the only job i had to level 90 (and i had not done the SMN quests or had any appropriate gear) and i nearly died on the last attack because i first attempted using broil to bring them down but they were spawning far too rapidly for me to deal with that, so in the end i resorted to running around the arena and spamming art of war. ended up working and i got past it first attempt but only with about 700 hp
6:06 Venat's an Archer, look she's used Enkidu to immobilize the player and then a strange Gate of Babylon/Unlimited Blade Works hybrid attack... Then she does the proper Archer class thing and gets physical.
Oh, no big deal. Just having a friendly sparring match with God, as she tells you in equal measure how much she loves you, how certain your death is, how that death is not necessarily something to be feared, and how others will carry the torch once you're gone.
The guitar riff at the beginning of flow together sound awfully familiar to the guitar riff found in melancholy tea time by Meiko Nakahara, it's also a great song.
I just did this fight tonight and i am so genuinely actually afraid of what is coming next in the story, i know so very little Edit: DUDE WTF 2nd Edit: DUDE WTF, BUT SAD
Heavy spoiler incoming... Its incredible, you travel to the past, meet Venat and she sees in you a magic that she can only bestow, but she doesn't understand when did she met you, so she assume that you can only come from the future, and wonders why would she give you this mark. Then you explain that the future is in danger, the final days are coming, which in part they are all responsible because it was Meteion, a creation of Hermes, is causing a catastrophe seeking an answer for Hermes question. Then she tries to stop Hermes on releasing Meteion failling in the duty, and decides to wait until you are born and met her again in your own timeline to have one last chance to defeat Meteion and avoid the Final Days. She did all this because she loved the creatures and had faith in humanity, faith that they will be able to live and move forward even with all the pain that living involves. This is just a brief resume without the disclosure and major events that occur in the story. This is Endwalker, the greatest fucking expansion of FFXIV (In my opinion) Then you hear this song, after playing the game and complete the story and then you break in tears because it hits SO HARD. Unbelievable.

Would you believe that in order to succeed, I actually needed to switch to my main... Black Mage? As much moving as Bard and Reaper were giving me, what I really needed was to go all out with the class I was most comfortable with. And the firepower certainly helped haha ...but boy it was still a struggle
This fight was a fucking BITCH on normal, particularly when you get to the orbs. The only fight in which i took the metaphorical knee and switched to very easy just so i could get on with the story.

Karaoke night always gets lit when you drop a new vid.
Every day, I miss her.
I remember in Shadowbringers thinking Hydaelyn was evil. I am so, so sorry Crystal Mommy.
If I remember correctly my first thing I said to venat in endwalker was that I didn't trust her, how wrong I was
We were pretty much set up to doubt her
tbh no mommy. only lightmother. she deserves the dignified title.
In their defense she was acting sus
I never thought she was evil. like, of course her enemy number one would call her evil... I just was wary of her plans...
Beautiful song in all aspects. It's also become my go-to background track to use in fantasy TTRPGs when there's a friendly duel between a PC and NPC.
I'm gonna be real with ya, homies
If I get married, I want this played at my wedding
I plan to sing it at mine in a few months, and have our first dance be to "Dedicated to Moonlight."
Venat told us the current Azem (unsundered us) managed to surprise her with their strength even though they were 3 times less her age, if we manage to meet Azem face to face and fight them we'd get clapped to oblivion.
We'd probably hit it off immediately and trade emet stories. The proceed to prank the entire convocation.
This instance as a Samurai was an adrenaline rush, she nearly whooped my ass if it weren't for Second Wind/Bloodbath
So you're telling me that you were sucking on Venats blood? Oh I'm so jealous
And yet you... carried on!
> be me
> BLM main
> have no built-in healing abilities
> Constantly Stare at the refresh clock for Potions and Manaward
@@mistergiraffe9425 Oh, yeah, I guess I could've used potions, that might've made it a lil easier. I just learnt my steps, gritted my teeth and laid my lines. Lol
No, it didnt happen. It looks like close fight but really it isnt. Its kinda scripted for each job that you have to eat AOEs to lose. She will deal lower damage when you are low. I did this on a tank and she was dealing enough dmg with her auto to kill any DPS in few seconds, theres no way that this fight is tuned same way for DPS for example.
This isnt Venat singing to you, its Hydaelyn singing about her memories of your meeting in Elpis, and everything you've done to reach that point
I wanted her to be proud of me
it was the same for me. but I in the end prevailed showing her that I was NOT giving in to despair
i did the fight as SCH because it was the only job i had to level 90 (and i had not done the SMN quests or had any appropriate gear) and i nearly died on the last attack because i first attempted using broil to bring them down but they were spawning far too rapidly for me to deal with that, so in the end i resorted to running around the arena and spamming art of war. ended up working and i got past it first attempt but only with about 700 hp
Been waiting for your videos to release the music.
well met , all brave little sparks
"I've heard your voice/Weighed your every choice"
Yeah I feel guilty for doubting her intentions through Shadowbringers
It was perfect writing to make you doubt her.
I'm not crying, you are
6:06 Venat's an Archer, look she's used Enkidu to immobilize the player and then a strange Gate of Babylon/Unlimited Blade Works hybrid attack... Then she does the proper Archer class thing and gets physical.
Still one of the best emotional tracts from XIV. Hits the feels everytime.....
Such a perfect moment
This song always feels like the full circle we took as an ancient to back meeting her again it’s like we told her a story through battle
I wish I could do that instance again, it was great
New Game+!
@@SlyAceZeta Good idea, thanks!
This is still my fav song
I just did this fight tonight and i am so genuinely actually afraid of what is coming next in the story, i know so very little
Edit: DUDE WTF
2nd Edit: DUDE WTF, BUT SAD
This is Endwalker, the greatest fucking expansion of FFXIV (In my opinion)
Then you hear this song, after playing the game and complete the story and then you break in tears because it hits SO HARD.
Unbelievable.
i don't even play ff14 and i love this song so much
You should it’s worth it 💯
NO LONGER SHALL MAN RIDE UPON OUR WINGS.
FROM THIS DAY ON, HE SHALL **WALK**!!!
Thx, nice video 👍
Lawful Good doesn't have to be lame, Venat shows this.
“Oh I have long waiting you patiently, all this time” I swear that’s what Amanda actually sang!
post shb venat: seems like generic benevolent lady of light
venat in endwalker: makes her entrance by bashing a shark unconscious, could probably tear you in half if she wanted
Don't forget "is better than you at every role"
Well, she did tore the whole world in (more than) half
it's like if you went back in time to meet jesus and you found him wrestling a boar for fun
Nice keep work 👏😭 Its giving me chills lol
God when they let me run hans with both version of mom it was great
It's beautiful enough to make a grown man cry, and there isn't anything wrong with that. Go ahead let it out, I'd say you more than any one has earned it, oh Warrior of Light.
Oh i have long waiting you patiently all this time. I swear that’s the actual line!
doing this instance as a black mage was a mistake but it was fun so i didnt mind as much
This is honestly my favorite glam. I just dye it sky blue cuz real white coat $, and I game is expensive.
I'm her litl spark😭
...Man I hated this fight. 😅 Don't get me wrong, I love that it's here, it's a very nice story decision to have the WoL basically fight their proto-self in the distant past...but fuck me dude this is almost impossible to do as a Black Mage.
You didn't suffer doing this on BLM alone bud. Lmao
Who here beat venat without lowering her difficulty???
She held back.
Awesome fokin shiz bro if you don't sing along I don't even know what the hell you're doin seriously!
"My brave little spark"
With a little spark, you can make a split :D
Merci @Amanda Achen
I love @ 4:10 venat goes super saiyan blue and starts conjuring those blue orbs I miss this fight so much and wish to redo it again I had trouble with it as a blm but still beat it I wish the developers would allow us to redo solo story duty instances the music the the mechanics the effects were amazing here’s hoping dawntrail could top this
I only lasted to "well met".
“Yes mom”
The only way to prove one's resolve is to fight.
So it makes sense to have a friendly match.
I'm not crying you crying T^T
Doing this fight as Black Mage was a nightmare...
Would you believe that in order to succeed, I actually needed to switch to my main... Black Mage?
As much moving as Bard and Reaper were giving me, what I really needed was to go all out with the class I was most comfortable with. And the firepower certainly helped haha
...but boy it was still a struggle
@@ThistlegloomX I was certainly tempted to switch.
@@TheCoolerDrilis on the real real. I legit switched on to it, off it, and on again. Tbh I was just tryin stuff
ah. that's me crying again
Why did she have to die? she was such a kind and good person who sacrified so much
Nothing truly dies.
God i remember dying so many times in this 😂
This fight was so hard for Sam 😫😫
And blm
Hate how i cant download this song nowhere
The fukken moment hydaelinn went from someone we activelly didnt trust to someone we unconditionally loved.
Azem is very strong.
Believe it or not dear ones, this song has deep spiritual meaning! We are all One ❤
This fight was a fucking BITCH on normal, particularly when you get to the orbs. The only fight in which i took the metaphorical knee and switched to very easy just so i could get on with the story.
Ahhh mamma venat 😭😭😭
1:55 tho
mmm 7am crying
Ha... it makes me wanna replay endwalker 😢
Nice
You can tell hungry is a tank main with one tiiiiiny little detail! Please, direct your attention to the top right of the "Hallowed Ground" ability icon.
I am not crying, you losers are.... 😭😭😭
Is there a specific way to rewatch thos or NG+
