The concert technician really is the one to make a pianist happy and bringing in a second, different action for a concert grand is really one way of getting a completely different feel and sound for the same piano. There are, of course, other halls in this world that can do the same thing, so Pierre-Laurent Aimard doesn't need to desperately call one specific technician for that particular feature. When PLA plays in London he'll just get the same treatment and expertise and over there it's not restricted to Steinways; PLA may just as well choose the Yamaha for a particular event, which he has recently done.
1. in this "concert" the piano had a secondary role, being just a support for the solo violinist. 2. replacing the whole piano hammers and keys doesn't prove anything, no tuning skills, no lesson for young technicians

Love this guy and this piano, but I think my favourite thing in this video is the hall. Love to hear something there live some day.
Just marvelous.
Very sensitiv man Stefan Knüpfer and for sure high level of piano tuner!
I need a contact of this guy, Stefan, if somebody has any…
I'm also looking to reach out to him, did you manage to find his contact information?
Stefan looks like the little brother of Jürgen Klopp.
Thanks God people like him still exist. In this world of mediocracy and ignorance.

Exactly these are very minor details they were adjusting. 99% of piano technicians won't deal with situations like this in their career.
Damper tops very dusty
If it sounds good, he won't touch it. He makes a big joke about this in the documentary _Pianomania,_ which is fantastic.
I preferred the piano to the pianist.
