Rigde is Erics son. He grew up to be that. Many years later they found out, that they are not biologically related. But so what. Bridget was first rigde and than Erics daughter. So Brooke isn't the innocent lamb here. BTW isn't thorne also Erics biological son with Stephanie. And what about Kirsten and Felicia, they are also Erics kids. So, there are some in line before Rick.
If you look back in the OG seasons, both Thorne and Kristen had the same hangups about Ridge being the favorite, the heir apparent. When Ridge/Thorne were both interested in OG Caroline, even though Ridge was being a man whore, both Stephanie and Eric were supporting Ridge.
