    Hello Shane, I am nearing 82 years old and I game shoot and also love my air rifles (springers). I am lucky that I have a half acre of garden so I have plenty of room to set up targets. I really enjoy your videos, I find them so relaxing to watch and your presentation spot on, please keep them comeing. Regards Mick, Abbots Bromley, Staffs.

    The law I. Germany like in Hungary allows 7,5 joules of energy, this is the energy allowed in competitions.

  • @ytucharliesierra
    @ytucharliesierra 10 месяцев назад +1

    Here in Germany, as in a few other countries of Europe, the limit is indeed 7,5 Joules. This amounts to 5,53 ft/lbs though. The 12 ft/lbs limit makes that 16,27 Joules. 7,5 joule airguns are marked with an "F" in a pentagon. It stands for something along the lines of *F*reely aquirable without permit. Should ever a stronger spring be installed, this mark is to be removed and the appropriate permit must be acquired.
    Since any kind of pest control is prohibited in Germany, we only have the distance limit concerning how far accurate shooting is possible before the pellets lose their ballistic stability in flight. We are also not allowed to just shoot into the landscape i.e. on a hike in the woods. It is only permitted within secured private premises, i.e. like my 15 meter attic range. For my target plinking with my own HW57 this is sufficient and acceptable as far as I am concerned. I know that a great many of my fellow countrymen wish there wasn't that limit but without the hunting aspect I don't see the use in any more energy than the 5,53 ft/lbs. Our long range shooting options probably end at perhaps 25 to 30 meters (I can only guess) and only a minority of us has access to such distances, myself excluded. I do dream of an opportunity to take the baby on a longer range to figure out her real ballistic curve and the reach one day.

    I have the same trouble, with my HW97. It is very hold sensitive. I really need to hold it tight into my shoulder, but my cheek has to rest gently on the stock. Lots of trial and error, before I got it, pallet on pallet. 😊

    Shane if your not already aware there's a simple fix for many triggers done by removing a spring (that looks like it's made from a paper clip) and replacing it with a 8mm or 9mm radio control bearing. Search for Crossman trigger upgrade, my Gamo's have same style trigger, the fix works on many different guns and takes only minutes. Just check safety catch and anti bear trap still function correctly, if not try next size bearing. Atb Ed

      Just adjust the screws, ball-bearing trick is for crappie triggers. The record is the best.

    They say it’s an entry level model. But still being a Weihrauch. From there I guess it still a good manufactured and accurate rifle isn’t it?
    I’m hesitating between the HW95 and HW57

    • @ytucharliesierra
      @ytucharliesierra 4 дня назад

      Any Weihrauch is good. The only difference is the price. The good quality is always the same. Hence, it is only a decision about which you prefer: an underlever or a break barrel. There is nothing you can do wrong with any Weihrauch.

      @@oldschoolbudapestworkout2105 Lol, you got me there. 🤣That's totally cool! 👍
      So it appears you opted for the 95 instead of the 57m huh? 😀Might this one join the already existing herd in the next budget cycle nonetheless? 😁
      Ah yes the 77 is on my next budget cycle around Christmas this year, with the thumbstock and not the K version, because my 57 already is in the K format in terms of barrel length. With these two I will be happy ever after. For pistolwork I have my old very trusty HW40. I purchased it so long ago by the way, from a production line so early, that it doesn't have fiber optics. I love it because technically it is admissible at official matches.
      What I love about the 57 is that it is quite exotic with its loading gate and especially the pleasant loading cycle: you can cock the lever and put it back in place before subsequently loading the pellet. No need to hold the loading lever like with all the other models while seating the pellet. (I hate having to do that frankly). Of course I will have to do it with the 77. It is what it is but I am sure I will be fine. 🙂 I prefer the 77 to the 98 because I would like to preserve the option of shooting it with iron sights.

    Hi Shane,it must be a bit of a rare coinsidense but I got an HW97 about the same time you got your and could not believe it when I saw you had got an HW57 a week after I got one as well,mine is in .22 and is just like yours being very hold sensitive,I have cured this to great effect first by finding the right pellets for it,believe it or not but it likes SMK Victory shocks which come in at 16.3 grains,this helped but when I lightened up the trigger to as light as I could get away with I found the gun was (Lazer Beam ) accurate.I have a 4-12x42 smk scope on it and thanks to you I too found that if you adjust the focus ring on it,it will change the point of aim so thanks for helping me sort out my change of impact, due to this I have marked it and try too leave it alone.Good luck and good shooting buddy.

      Thanks for the comment Glyn , I have some smk I believe in .177 so will give them a try , that’s the secret , experiential stuff , to find what works and what doesn’t , my next video soon will be to see what power the 57 is doing , and after that a video of my new gun that gets here next Tuesday ,,, cheers buddy Happy Shooting ,,, Shane
