I had my eye on one of these back in, oh, 1983 or 84, but before I could save up the money it was purchased by Lennie Gallant, and he did a lot more with it than I would have.
Kick ass! They don't make ''em like they used to, that's for sure! I pulled my Dad's out of storage about 3 years ago and found much of the same. I cleaned it up and replaced all the sliders, some new caps and added 1/4" outs and it's like new. These things keep on kickin' if you take care of em and ohh that MOOG bass. Pu it through a bass cab. Not to mention you basically get a third oscillator with the poly section and can play chords.
So cool to hear that you were able to get your dad's Synth in good running order! Do you know what your dad's main purpose for it was when he bought it (was he a musician or just thought it was cool)? I was so intrigued with the idea of building sounds.
@@modernarcheology2868 He played it in a band, I think he needed it to cover a rush song and one or two more. He grew to HATE this thing because the heat of the stage lights would cause enough temperature change to throw the oscillators out of tune! hahah He had perfect pitch and preferred the hammond B3; this I dug out of a corner somewhere in the basement. There's a few pictures at the end of this: ruclips.net/video/dW7CfC5HTXo/видео.html
probably my favorite synth ever.

@@patroche1266 Wow! That video is awesome. You make that sound great. Looks like you got your dad's musical chops! Thanks for sharing.
Those sliders are going to have to be desoldered, taken apart and either cleaned or replaced.
i'm dreading opening mine and cleaning it but I know the day is coming soon enough
dont waste time do it today every year it gets gooier and gooier and much more labor intensive over time.
Would you be interested in selling it? I can't find one that isn't way over priced and I've been trying to get it for years.
