Hey all! To address some confusion/comments saying this “didn’t need a remaster” - it actually did, if we want to post this on platforms like Spotify. Materia Collective won’t let tracks with any assets from the original game get uploaded, hence why we can’t just upload our tracks as-is. If we could we wouldn’t have to go back and change/remaster the tracks, but here we are. Thank you all for watching! The only other thing I ask is to be civil in the comment section :)
Call me an idiot, but I’m confused. Isn’t the original world-revolving-with-lyrics already on Spotify? Or is it just to keep it consistent with the other songs?
Gotta say, while Alex sounded more like Jevil voice-wise in my opinion, Darby sounds like he’s having a lot more fun with it, which is very appropriate
This remaster is considerably calmer, but that’s not a bad thing: it really captures what Toby himself called the “all chaos is ordered” aspect to Jevil. The yin to the original songs yang. For example: in the original song Jevil sounded deranged, almost desperate in the “when the light is running low” segment. Like he’s madly rambling about the coming storm. But here Darby sings don’t forget like he’s giving a command, a revelation that he’s presenting. Both are valid interpretations of the scenario Also on this rewatch, I can really appreciate how apocalyptic you made jevil, especially because chapter 2 has made this age beautifully. Like half of this song is just Jevil shouting THE TITANS ARE COMING THE ROARING WILL DROWN US ALL! At full volume
Yeah the other version that bit sounded like he was just saying shit, which sounds better in practice, but this one sounds like he suddenly got serious and is giving a prophecy before inevitably devolving back into silly old jevil, which is cooler in concept.
Dude this is literally ultracopium you KNOW that this is worse, the production value is higher yet the song isnt BETTER, he doesnt feel like jevil. Sure, it's beautiful, but it isnt it man.
Definitely the sound effects come of as cluttered and he doesn't really sound like Jevil and it seems alot calmer and all the Chaos is why I loved the original.
this version really is very tame while the other one was loud and brash, while this one had the cartoony sound effects that threw off the rythm and kinda haltet the momentum and the less distortion effected/high pitched voice of Jevil made the Lyrics harmonise less with the melody. that the laughter was also so tame, was kind of low energy, it didnt feel as fast and had not as much emotion behind it, i felt like the hee hee hee in the og had that very loud sharp sound that made it stick out and actually had a very nice sound with the melody behind it.
I personally feel that the instruments are garbled and kinda inconcise in comparison to the original, the wacky cartoon sound effects on top of that doesn't help. The original sounded like a weird other worldly flute being performed by some strange circus calliope, This sounds like there's a fuzzy effect on most of the instruments and I can only make out mostly some of the chiming. I feel like the balancing between the lyrics volume is off as well. The original was like watching 5 different rivers of color collide into one lake. The swirl of colors is confusing but you can still make out the points of origin despite the chaotic mix. the instruments were distinct from his voice and the multiple sets of lyrics overlapped together feeling like one huge mass.
@@dextra_24703 I do like Darbys performance, I prefer Alex but that's just because I'm such a lover of Ultimate world spun and his work with the clowns tracks. Great job, team. ^w^ I like how this remaster manages to capture jevil's personality not by just screaming into the microphone and blaring the music, but it actually feels like a controlled chaos, which is what I think jevil is. ^w^ he's not some loud, screaming madman, he's broken and wants to break others so they can join him in his lonely little freedom, and I can see that you went for it here and succeeded tremendously. Thank you.
Dont get me wrong the singing is amazing i love the vocal remaster but i feel like the quieter jevil isnt as true to who he is as a character since jevil's whole thematic is uncontrollable, overwhelming chaos which he uses to drown out how broken he is the same way a child might when they are upset and cover their ears in a "lalala im not listening" fashion
Almost five years later, and I love this song like its the first time! It is definitely a different approach now, and I miss Alex's Jevil voice, but this is really cool! It is also a perfect time to remind you all that we are getting THREE more chaotic creatures at the same time once Ch3-5 are released. The internet is going to literally have a breakdown, be careful or else Ch2 will become real
I think the only reason they did is so that Alex doesn’t get criticized for voicing every character. Same thing happened with Rouxls Kaard in Chapter 2.
Somehow, Darby does a voice that sounds really close to what I imagine Jevil's voice without the effect would sound like (tho Alex was also great). Also, "See what happens when you're good girls and Ralseis and are patient" made me chuckle
Y'know I just realised. With Steel voicing Dimentio in Charming Magician and Darby voicing Jevil in this, all we need is a redo of one of Marx's songs and we'll have enough for a remaster on the Ultimate World Spun.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but the sound effects really distract from the rest of the song. I get why it's here, but it detracts from the song in a way that isn't present for the earlier version you did or the combination one between Jevil, Dimentio, and Marx.
Words can’t express how I feel about this song. But I’ll try. It’s a very good remix, Darby did a great job voicing Jevil and the sound effects in the song makes it sound more fun and chaotic. Very on point and very well done. So amazing job Crew once again!

Bro,i don't actually search about secret things on deltarune, only about the principal lore, but, because of the "all these bugs are in my brain",made me search, thinking he was referring about a type of illness on his brain
Weirdly, I actually miss Alex singing it. He had a certain menacing tone in the original, that, whether because of Darby's voice not being taken as deeper, or due to the more whimsical tone of the instrumental, just isn't there in this one. One thing I do know is missing is that... I'm gonna be honest, Darby's voice just sounds oddly monotone in this. I'm not sure why since he's usually a great voice actor but, I don't get any of the insanity and sadism of Jevil that Alex had in the original.
I know this was changed because of copyright, but it just sounds a lot worse than the original. Edit: To clarify, I don't have a problem with the music being changed, I have a problem with Jevil's voice sounding a lot less distinct.
The song used in the remaster is kinda too intense? I think it’s all the jingly and sparkly noises that take away from not only the song itself but the lyrics as well, and distract from those said lyrics as well.
You know a song is perfect as is when the Remaster feels lackluster in comparison. The more real voice was nice to listen to but felt off and the way different parts of the lyrics were hard to hear when he sings atop himself shows that this song was perfect since day one.
"When the light is running low, and the shadows start to grow, and the places that you know cut away the afterglow, there's a light inside your soul, slowly shrinking in the cold, from the truth deep down you know, and yet darker we will go" goes insanely hard
When the gyatts are running low And the alphas start to grow And the sigmas that you know Cut away the ohio Theres a sus inside your soul Slowly bussin in the cold From the fanum tax you know And yet big bird we will go Can’t you rizz? Your world’s a skibidi
I think this version definitely fits Jevil better with the sound effects and voice but I still do have a partial bias towards the original just because of how great it is. I still really enjoyed this one, great job!
The first time I heard the first version I felt like I could do everything like Jevil too, in this version I feel like Jevil will try to get his freedom by force
Ah my favorite song getting another cover is so great! I was so excited when I saw this and feels like completely chaos towards the end which is great. Great job everyone on the cover!
this version makes me love Jevil even more; meanwhile the original version was chaotic, loud and just silly, the remastered one tells that Jevil is just lost. I imagine that he does not even care about other’s empathy like ours in other words: WHAT THE HELL THIS IS SO SAD
Not nearly as good as the original. Way too many wacky sound effects, the singing feels like it lacks any emotion; as if they just weren't in it and I think they could sing a little slower. If feels like they're trying to rush through the song instead of it being natural. I think the singing sounds much better at .75 speed. Overall it's not bad but it feels like when gaming companies do a remaster no one asked for and try to be extra with it. Edit: I've listened to it a few more times and the singing has grown on me a little to the point I think I was being overly critical. The singing still isn't my favorite but it's not as bad as I originally said. The wacky sound effects however are absolutely awful and shouldn't have been in it at all. It really pulls you out the more times you listen.
Steller job, I'll be enjoying this rendition longer than I'll ever enjoy the original Man on the Internet version, or Toby's original version, or even just music in general!
I SAW RHE DRAWING ON JEVILS HEAD AT THE BOTTOM OF MY SCREEN, I KNEW, IT ONLY MEANT ONE THING! JEVIL REMASTERED! THE NOT SO LONG AWAITED REMASTERED, LEZZZZ GOOOOOOOOOOO
I much prefer original. Here jevil sounds like just some dude, not even that insane(sorry Darby. I'd say the reason alex was so much better is the amount of "growling" in his voice (like the one Darby used for the horizontal moving text) and the bounciness of his intonation). Also, additional voices aren't similar enough and have more barriers between eachother(at least volume and the fact that they play in different ears) the ending is not as frantic, anything thing was more fitting of the way jevil speaks(to be fair, the lyrics never really cared about the way he speaks so this one is more of a nitpick) Like, the song fits jevil so bad compared to the original, i'm not sure Darby was told who he's singing as and neither were editors and producer. I don't believe Darby can't do at least half as good as Alex, even on a role that doesn't fit him, so either he was really not told what the song is supposed to be, or the lyrics were recorded in, like, 3 hours max Edit: i decided to check how i, a guy who only started singing from time to time this spring(and when i say "from time to time", i mean my mom found out only in August rare), and who just can't sing the right way for jevil, can do. Just by singing at the same time as Alex, with little past experience with that song i am around Darby's level(judging by the main lyrics sung in normal voice). That is god damn insane, given how much superior to me in terms of singing he has proved himself to be in other songs. Like, he's probably the most versatile singer out of MOTI, and yet I, a complete rookie without a natural advantage, am at his level. How the fuck? Like, did he not sleep the week before that? Was he secretly sick in the time for practice and didn't want to give up the role?
i personally disagree, when i first heard it i was a bit iffy on of i liked it more or not but after listening to it again i love the new voice way more than the old one, and i like that the background lyrics (i think thats what to call them) are more obvious because with the original i had to listen to it a few times before i could hear them, also the slightly edited lyrics are really nice, and the remix of the world revolving is well made to, so just like the remaster of big shot i think all-around this is an improvement (also if there are any spelling/ grammar mistakes that's because i'm dyslexic so just tell me and ill fix them)
Especially since Darby is my favorite singer on the team, I'm biased in the *opposite* direction when I say it sounds low energy lol I know Darby is a heck of a singer so it's not a dig against him, this role just didn't... work. And he doesn't lack energy usually because I mean the dude is PAPYRUS like...??? And Plague Knight, and Dung Defender. Just feels off is all im saying
I feel like it doesn't capture Jevil quite as well, but it's still pretty good! It's actually less overwhelming, and easier to keep track of the different elements!
The remix is awesome, i miss the original voice actor but certainly sound good, i cant pick between the original and this one but this one certainly sound awesome! great work!
Very fun!! Not a fan of the added sound effects, though. I also miss the vocal effects on the background vocals. Seriously, though, I think I'll more often choose to relisten to the old version since it doesn't have the sound effects.
This seems as good a place as any to put this. I’ve noticed that in both secret bosses and darker darker yet darker, the lyric “bugs in my brain” comes up. “Chaos, chaos, let it rain! All these bugs are in my brain!” “Now’s your chance to be a [BIG SHOT]! I have bugs in my brain, you can call it [BRAINROT]!” “The doctor, is insane, I have bugs, in my brain.” Just worth mentioning, I think.

Its amazing how he took a good song and cranked up the weirdness of character to make it even better
"When the light is running low, and the shadows start to grow, and the places that you know cut away the afterglow, there's a light inside your soul, slowly shrinking in the cold, from the truth deep down you know, and yet darker we will go" goes insanely hard
When the gyatts are running low
And the alphas start to grow
And the sigmas that you know
Cut away the ohio
Theres a sus inside your soul
Slowly bussin in the cold
From the fanum tax you know
And yet big bird we will go
Can’t you rizz?
Your world’s a skibidi
@@sowalemonz How much time did you put into thinking all that up?? 💀

I'm with the guys that think it didn't need a remaster but I LOVE that you can hear the other voices more clearly
I didn't notice before, but it's Papyrus's singer/voice actor from the Musical playing Jevil. That works so well lol.
I think this version definitely fits Jevil better with the sound effects and voice but I still do have a partial bias towards the original just because of how great it is. I still really enjoyed this one, great job!
0:35 YOU DID NOT ADD THE CARTOON SLIPPERY SOUND EFFECT TO THAT😭😭😭
0:42 - 1:02 With headphones is an experience I want everyone to experience.
Ikr I love how the audio revolves around the headphones
0:58 I love the darker version of “don’t forget”
The first time I heard the first version I felt like I could do everything like Jevil too, in this version I feel like Jevil will try to get his freedom by force
The sound effects are nice but I prefer the original, the faintly electronic voices tide things together.
I honestly prefer this one, more holding onto Jevils sense of CHAOS and INSANITY
Dude did a great job but his voice is more like Discord (MLP) than Jevil. But chaos is chaos i suppose.
Alex's voice with this song was something else, but the remix here is really really good!
Why did I just NOW realize this was Darby??
Gotta love this song! Nice to see a remaster of it.
I can't do anything jevil clowns (pun intended) on both the og and the remaster
Ah my favorite song getting another cover is so great! I was so excited when I saw this and feels like completely chaos towards the end which is great. Great job everyone on the cover!
this version makes me love Jevil even more; meanwhile the original version was chaotic, loud and just silly, the remastered one tells that Jevil is just lost. I imagine that he does not even care about other’s empathy like ours
in other words: WHAT THE HELL THIS IS SO SAD
I mean, it's really good but It sounds less chaotic than the original one. Also jevil sounds less goofy :c
Steller job, I'll be enjoying this rendition longer than I'll ever enjoy the original Man on the Internet version, or Toby's original version, or even just music in general!
Stellar*
I SAW RHE DRAWING ON JEVILS HEAD AT THE BOTTOM OF MY SCREEN, I KNEW, IT ONLY MEANT ONE THING! JEVIL REMASTERED! THE NOT SO LONG AWAITED REMASTERED, LEZZZZ GOOOOOOOOOOO
Effects are great, but honestly I liked old voice more
The only problem here is that jevils voice isnt pixel. Everyone knows him with pixel voice
I much prefer original. Here jevil sounds like just some dude, not even that insane(sorry Darby. I'd say the reason alex was so much better is the amount of "growling" in his voice (like the one Darby used for the horizontal moving text) and the bounciness of his intonation). Also, additional voices aren't similar enough and have more barriers between eachother(at least volume and the fact that they play in different ears) the ending is not as frantic, anything thing was more fitting of the way jevil speaks(to be fair, the lyrics never really cared about the way he speaks so this one is more of a nitpick)
Like, the song fits jevil so bad compared to the original, i'm not sure Darby was told who he's singing as and neither were editors and producer. I don't believe Darby can't do at least half as good as Alex, even on a role that doesn't fit him, so either he was really not told what the song is supposed to be, or the lyrics were recorded in, like, 3 hours max
Edit: i decided to check how i, a guy who only started singing from time to time this spring(and when i say "from time to time", i mean my mom found out only in August rare), and who just can't sing the right way for jevil, can do. Was he secretly sick in the time for practice and didn't want to give up the role?
i personally disagree, when i first heard it i was a bit iffy on of i liked it more or not but after listening to it again i love the new voice way more than the old one, and i like that the background lyrics (i think thats what to call them) are more obvious because with the original i had to listen to it a few times before i could hear them, also the slightly edited lyrics are really nice, and the remix of the world revolving is well made to, so just like the remaster of big shot i think all-around this is an improvement (also if there are any spelling/ grammar mistakes that's because i'm dyslexic so just tell me and ill fix them)
Especially since Darby is my favorite singer on the team, I'm biased in the *opposite* direction when I say it sounds low energy lol
I know Darby is a heck of a singer so it's not a dig against him, this role just didn't... work. And he doesn't lack energy usually because I mean the dude is PAPYRUS like...??? And Plague Knight, and Dung Defender.
Just feels off is all im saying
I've only seen that closed caption witchcraft once before and it's in Giratina's theme!
I kinda hope, that you'll make "The Circus" and "Dialtone" with lyrics
I liked the original way more but I appreciate the time spent in making another even though you owed nothing to anyone
I feel like it doesn't capture Jevil quite as well, but it's still pretty good! It's actually less overwhelming, and easier to keep track of the different elements!
This grew on me so much already! Fantastic job!
The remix is awesome, i miss the original voice actor but certainly sound good, i cant pick between the original and this one but this one certainly sound awesome! great work!
THIS IS LITERALLY MY FAVE SONG
ITS STUCK IN MY HEAD
I love how when you wear headphones, the sound bounces around from ear to ear. It really makes the song feel like it’s revolving!❤
I'm starting to appreciate this.
The remaster is amazing!
Jevil sounds a little less deranged. I don’t know how to feel about this change.
Very fun!! Not a fan of the added sound effects, though. I also miss the vocal effects on the background vocals. Seriously, though, I think I'll more often choose to relisten to the old version since it doesn't have the sound effects.
Nobody cares
I don't get why people are saying this wasn't necessary. I think it was a good idea and good lord does this go so hard.
We didn’t need a remaster but this is beautiful
This seems as good a place as any to put this. I’ve noticed that in both secret bosses and darker darker yet darker, the lyric “bugs in my brain” comes up.
“Chaos, chaos, let it rain! All these bugs are in my brain!”
“Now’s your chance to be a [BIG SHOT]! I have bugs in my brain, you can call it [BRAINROT]!”
“The doctor, is insane, I have bugs, in my brain.”
Just worth mentioning, I think.
I BEEN WAITIN FOR THIS ONE🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
just finished no hitting jevil and got this in my recommended, very awesome!
also the subtitles are really awesome, no idea how you even did that!
"in this game everyone will lose" thats literally me when i play anything!
CHAOS CHAOS
