It's great that even though the home was close to a freeway, the changes made were so good that it brought on a bidding war, congrats!!
I think they could have gone over the red concrete with a red stain to give it a more even look.
I don't think they wanted to draw more attention to that color, nor did they want to spend any more money on it. Leaning into that eyesore was not something they wanted to do.
If they were going to paint, they could go for a different color and it would look much better than the red.
@@CC-si3cr they could have put neutral coloured concrete paint over the red parts and match it to the sandblasted old concrete next next personal probably pave over anyway maybe
@@Prieze868 The GC said nothing would stick to the concrete. After watching this again I think the stagers should've covered the entire area in an outdoor rug. Obviously tell the people looking @ the home what's under the rug, but it would take care of the awful optics during the open house.
I think they should have went more classic with creams throughout, looks a little cheap with the busy counters and backsplash. For the red cement backup patch, the could put black rubber tiles to bring the black inside outside.
Add decorative Spanish tiles to the cover the red patio area so it looks like a carpet.
@nuns Good idea to bring in a Spanish theme outdoors. It's funny how Tareq and Christina have often emptied their reno budget by the time they get to the yard. I guess those extra improvements can be left for the new owners. I was really impressed with the main bathroom. And wondered about the exterior door seen in the main bedroom ? 😯
That was a cool looking redo, I agree.
This must be a pretty old one. The staging was awful. I've always thought it was strange how they don't stage the yards nicely. Personally, I would have fixed that red concrete. At the very least, she could have put a giant outdoor rug over it to give buyers an idea. That umbrella was atrocious.
The interior was cute, but the kitchen was a little busy. I don't know how Christina didn't notice that the kitchen was super small.
Whatever the case, they made a lot of money due to the market, so they were probably really happy with it.
The kitchen looks totally different to their normal kitchens. It is funky and fun!
They could have poured a thin layer of concrete over the red concrete to hide the color, or remove the red concrete and replace with new regular concrete.
I have these countertops with light gray cabinets. I love them. It's nice to see what they would look like with white cabinets. I have black trim in our garage because white gets dirty too fast, but it's a bit much in the home.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE, that claw foot bathtub!
It's actually the backsplash that closes the kitchen in.
So if they hadn’t decided to do major remodel in bathroom the termite damage and outdated wiring would have been left unseen by buyer? Ugh! Remind me never to buy a fixer upper.
Spanish and Craftsman are from the 20s & 30s. Not 40s and 50s, Tarek. 😎
The black countertops and backsplash make the kitchen even darker...
GREAT JOB guys!
They should’ve put red furniture over that red concrete to stage it to look nice, or better yet, put a red Jacuzzi, people won’t even notice the red concrete
I can’t believe they didn’t stay in all of the concrete the same color. That’s the first thing I thought of after it was sandblasted.
the staging this episode was questionable..
Good job to you both.
Black was NICE
As much as I don’t like Christina she does have good solutions.
They could have rolled a fake grass (golf grass??) over the red spot.
Or better yet, just put an outdoor area rug over it. Anything.
4 bedrooms 2 bathroom s ... difficult
This is an old one...they are still married to each other.
Always gray gray gray wish they’d use some mild colors for once
The contractor is fos -- acid-etch it.
Pragtig💕🇿🇦
Don’t like the black trim interior
how old are these videos?
R u all coming back to work together? I hope
Imagine buying this house and redoing it never knowing about the termite damage and the electrical situation? Yikes.
Does this look tacky?
Sorry but I feel for y’all in California. Nice remodel tho🤷♀️
You can sense so easily that those guys are screwing Tarek with that price for the electric stuff, they can bearly hide it in their faces
There isn't a (s) in Modernize, don't you have spell check!
1.) British spelling. 2.) Note corrected punctuation, capitalization, and sentence structure: There isn't an "s" in "modernize." Don't you have spell check?
VOCAL FRY FROM HELL ..
i need some who convert my tub bath to shower bath less than 3k$, i will bear the cost of material
This was my least favorite house. Red, black, grey, and white gave it an Asian color palette and nothing was Asian inspired in the decor. Plus it seemed like there were an awful lot of knick knacks everywhere in the house. The backyard by the pool staging was embarrassing. I thought there would be rugs put down with more outdoor furniture.
Well that's her solution for everything
Absolutely agree, too busy. They should have done creams, black and greenery outside.
I, literally, could not finish watching the video where Tarek was being a control d**k. Had nothing to do w taste or judgment -- it seemed yo be full-on Control Issues.
Christina needs to get out of her gray mode
She's decorating for broad appeal. Neutrals are more compatible with a wide variety of colors...
The title of this video is one of the most generic quote of this show….
Too staged
Kevin always goes overboard on the cheap looking knick knacks.
