- The Jaguars and the City of Jacksonville took the wraps off the most expensive investment in Jacksonville history on Tuesday, a 50-50 cost split on the $1.25 billion “Stadium of the Future.” The city will also pay $150 million in renovation and upkeep costs, bringing Jacksonville's investment to $775 million. It won’t include new taxes and will keep the team in town for the next generation.

No stadiums cost way more than that now, dude. And remember, part of building a stadium is demolishing the old stadium. It sounds like the league and ownership is set on the downtown location. If the Jags were building across the state border in rural Georgia, then you probably could swing 1.2. But you'd still have to demolish the old stadium and potentially pay back Jax, which would balloon the cost.
Zero return for tax payers according to all studies on the economics surrounding public funding for sport teams.
Shan Khan can take this team and go somewhere else and I would not lose one night of sleep. Infact I would celebrate.
