I did it, I finally watched every single one of your videos! Your content has been very helpful in increasing my strategic understanding. I totally feel his pain in the opening. Whenever a weird position like that arises in my openings, my brain just kind of freezes up and I don't know what to do. I can totally see myself getting hit with dxe6 dxe6 Ng5, and then probably losing the game shortly after because I get overwhelmed with my center being under pressure and my queen having to defend my rook. I did see the forced rook trade due to White's back rank issues though, which is nice, and I also would have gone for Bf8 when the knight was attacked in the endgame
Wow, somebody watched ALL my videos!! Amazing. Please keep me posted on your future progress. Good that your strategic vision has improved already. You can also study my strategy courses for consolidation.
@Dr.CansClinic yeah I did, it took me 5 months to do it :) I will almost certainly buy one of your courses at some point. Already spent too much money on chess this month, but next month I'll take a look
I like this series because I can compare my thought process and the players thought process. The also good thing is that its not GM level game, so they make practical mistakes and I can learn from it.
Great instructional video, Dr. Can. For elementary school teachers, we sometimes use the term "teachable moment" rather than what you have used here, "learning moment". Sometimes in the children's chess club that I run, I would try to get the attention of the children/teenagers if there was an instructive position on one of the chess boards. Like a mini-lesson. I don't do it as much anymore as the children have gotten a lot better and are teaching me. ha ha.
That is such good point! I should have used the term 'teachable moment' indeed. We discussed exactly this point with Dan Heisman in my podcast episode with him. Good coaches are good at identifying such teachable moments and presenting them to their students.
This was a really fun video, honestly. I liked his annotations because one can relate to how he was thinking and it felt fresh and connected to what that thinking was during the game. Real time instruction was really great as well because it felt like it not only connected to the thinking but also the emotion the player was feeling and why he selected the move he selected. I hope what I wrote makes sense haha
Great game anayalsis and very instructive especially on when to clise and open up the position from both sides, it also amazes me how many times in our games that the back rank issues can throw up a tactical oppertunity, definately a question I ask these days when evaluating the positions 👍
27:35 is this a case where it wouldn't have mattered whether he chose Rae8 or Rfe8 since we were going to end up with one of our rooks on e8 after the trades anyway?
Thank you. As written in the video description, in this series it is always the student who picks the board theme and records their screen. Thanks for your understanding.

Thank you! That was exactly why I started this series.
I love this format, hopefully we'll see more of this ❤
Thank you so much. Feel free to record your analysis and send it my way ;)

It was worth it to see Dr Can go crazy with Rae8, I think we all did.
Thanks, Lindell, a win is a win, and I liked the fork on the Q and the N.
I went crazy there indeed!
Really like this format! Thank you!

I think so! But ....Rae8 looks more logical as the f8-rook is already on a semi-open file :)
Thank you for the Great Videos.
Thank you for your great feedback and for leaving a comment!
I enjoy these so much. I just used OBS to record my own analysis of my interesting 90+30 game in MKV format. How best can I send it your way?
Great to hear that! You can send it to cankabadayi85@gmail.com
Will watch again to drill key moments.
Thanks Al! Hope they will be useful.
I am also in the same rating class. How can I send you my games I also love to play the sicilian
Thanks! You can send it to cankabadayi85@gmail.com
Are you active OTB or on club level?
me or Lindell? :)
Very good content, but please change the board theme to lichess default theme. Rest is awesome.
I think it was the student that chose this theme as they submitted the video to Can.
Yeah, I think you are right. My mistake
Thank you. As written in the video description, in this series it is always the student who picks the board theme and records their screen. Thanks for your understanding.
Who cares? Bishops knights and rooks look nothing alike
The board theme is so dull I had to encourage my self to watch.. don't get me started on the pieces.
