A walk I always wanted to do, but age caught up with me, thank you Trev. I've walked quite a bit of the south moor but it didn't quite match up to the north. I love the whole of Dartmoor full stop.
Hi, great film! It was my partner and I who met you ... thanks so much for capturing some of our trek across the moor 👍 ... and we didn’t see any adders 🐍 it was lovely to meet you 😀
I think alot of people are thinking the same Trevor.. Boris may have lifted restrictions on exercise and travelling within England, but I, like you and many others are still not travelling.. Great video as usual.. 👍👍
Yep, old Boris making it as clear as mud. He probably made the ridiculous 'unlimited travel' rule because he saw the Dominic Cummings scandal coming 😂.
We are just stopping local as well, for another couple of weeks, got a couple of quiet, flat walks at are about 10 miles away, so may do a couple of these this week. Loved the shot of and the shout of 'Summit or Nothing' at the top - great views all around. Adders on a hot sunny day on the Moors is always a bit of a worry, especially when you are on your todd. I always wear boots but Mrs Metalman prefers her walking saddles, which is an additional worry, I must remember to tell her to stomp, next time we are on the Moors. Real nice walk out and good to hear there were no mare radical comments lol! Favourite photo have to be the dog looking at the Bluebells by Izzy S. Cheers Alan
Cheers Alan, glad that you have some decent walks near you, its best to keep it local whist we still can. Thanks for wtaching, and yeah, get your lady stomping in the longer grass and it scares them before you reach them. Still eerie though. Thanks for watching!
Brilliant stuff. I'm going insane at home so these kinda vids help. Just can't wait til I get out camping again - I love a hike and have been on a few local ones but just not quite the same experience for me as walking into the actual wilderness and spending the night. Thanks Trev!
Cheers Gareth - I sometimes leave off the soundtrack but sometimes it suits it better - this was one of the latter (especially as there was a lot of wind noise too) Thanks for watching!
I love open landscapes and this is another great video of your lovely walks :) And my compliments to the photos added at the end. So many stunning photos and good photographers
Me and two of my dogs walked from our house - Meldon - Yes tor (via the south, the lungs were burning let me tell you😥)- Willhays then to Black down passed the camp on Sunday we covered 9.5 miles. A beautiful 3 and a half hours very well spent. Keep well and thanks for the upload i look forward to the next one.👏🏼👍👍👍 Adders! I am man enough to say that they frighten the bejesus out of me......🤣😂🤣😂
I'm really getting to know this area well, Max - and I think the passion shows when you know what you're on about. One day maybe I will see the Big Horn mountains too. Stay safe Max!
Yeah, they are creepy little b******s haha. I saw two in one day on the coast path once, but the strangest part of that was that about half an hour before the first sighting I thought to myself... 'all this walking and I have never seen an adder'..... Wishful thinking?! Cheers for watching!
Great vid Trev.... thanks for sharing😎 Should have taken your tarp...miles away from anyone, quite abit more than 2mts ...keep safe and I'm eagerly waiting for the next one 🌴🌴🌴🌴👍
I did a circular route of Shelstone Tor’s,Branscombe Loaf,Kitty Tor,Green Tor,Bleak House,Dunna Goats,Great Links Tor and back to the car via Sourton Tor’s last Thursday....absolutely stunning up there and good for the soul to be back out on the Moor. I must admit I drove from the north of Plymouth ( not a long drive ) and kept away from everyone. It was good to get my fix at last. Great vid....as usual👍🏻
That does sound like a great little walk, there. I may have to revisit this area myself at some point soon. About ten minutes in the car for me to get to Sourton. Great you managed to get out. Stay safe and thanks for watching!
Loving the views, planning my 3 dayer off these insights when we can eventually get down there. Bet it won't be a quiet then! Thanks for posting the photos btw.
I will avoid the weekends :-) Everywhere is better when its quiet tbh, prefer a degree of solitude & getting away from the pressures of life, chilling out and being at peace
Great vid Trev, how odd we've just done that area today but almost in reverse lol. We started at the target railway to dinger tor, lints tor through the valley to black a tor copse, black tor, fordsland ledge, high willhays, yes tor and ended at West mill tor
I bet it was windy yesterday, Marcus! A great tor, though. Not been up there since the second time I ever hiked Dartmoor. Must revisit soon. Thanks for watching!
Cracking vid. With great views. I’ve been on Dartmoor once when I joined the navy. Did the 10 Tor’s. Set the tent on fire by accidentally kicking over the stove....oops. Keep them coming 👍
Was a proper walk, bud - good to finally get 'up top'. And a good day to do it, too. Cheers for watching, Ash.. Oh, and you may want to watch my Why I Love Backpacking video....
I share your fear of adders, Trev! I often try to remind myself that they probably hear us coming long before we might see them... Then I see a photo on Facebook from someone's who got up close to them "basking in the sun" on a rock somewhere!! I only knowingly seen one and that was on the edge of a village, where something in the shadow moved, hissed and thankfully continued away from me! Thanks for another good video. Good to see other people about on the moor as well. All the best!
Yea, I think they tend to not want to see us - I saw two in one day on the coast path before and they were quick to escape - but they can give a nasty bite if you surprise one so, I decided stomping was the best way to deter them as I had momentarily slipped off the beaten track. Take care Olly and thanks for watching!
Another excellent walk (and video) with some more good "local" photos from subscribers. I need to get out more (so my wife tells me!) and take more photos (so my wife also tells me!). Keep safe. keep healthy and keep sane. Cheers. Ken
Great vid Trev, thanks for sharing. I’ve made the same mistake myself from High Willhays to Lints down that valley. What a nightmare that was. Hopefully popping up to High Willhays again tomorrow morning to catch the sunrise. Should be a stunner! I’ll send you a photo. Oh and I’ve planned my South North walk as well ready for when Boris gives the green light for wild camping again. Hopefully I’ll get to see you up there some time but in the meantime, please keep them coming.
Yeah, its a bit wild down there - I was happy with the path I found this time round. Good luck with your own 2 dayer when the time finally comes, and I look forward to your pic. Thanks a lot!
Great account of your walk as usual Trev, thanks for sharing. You fair 'cracked on' at a speedy pace. Cotton Tails are also a patchy feature of the Pennines. Keep that Moral going it is a spread of infection that people do appreciate.
Stunning views there Trev. I’ve only driven through the moors and not really stopped (except for a food pit stop at Princetown?). It’s definitely somewhere I need to try. Shame on you for dissing the south 😂 but it’s great to see you back out there again. ATB Andy
Haha... I know, I never think before I speak, is my problem. Dartmoor is a fantastic place to explore, you should definitely get up and have a look sometime. Thanks for watching!
Nice one trev i love this area of the moor In fact I was at high willhays myself yesterday 👍 I managed to respond to your tag aswell, should be up by the morning. Great content mate I love the dartmoor stuff 😃
lol, stop apologising, the South Moor is bleak! Ignore offended people. I saw that trek you did with the chest-high hillocks, that was a chaotic landscape. And the moor tends to be more lacking in tors near the centre/south. More dramatic east/west, more crowded in east.
A walk I always wanted to do, but age caught up with me, thank you Trev. I've walked quite a bit of the south moor but it didn't quite match up to the north. I love the whole of Dartmoor full stop.
That's a shame, Michael, well I'm glad to take you up there with me, and without you even having to break a sweat. Thanks for watching 👍
Hi, great film! It was my partner and I who met you ... thanks so much for capturing some of our trek across the moor 👍 ... and we didn’t see any adders 🐍 it was lovely to meet you 😀
Haha! Great that you found my video and was good to meet you both. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your day. Thanks for watching!
Great info about d bog plants and adders. Really enjoyed it & tks for including my pics :)
Thanks Marco - and thank you for sharing your photos. Lovely! Take care!
@@SummitOrNothing I completely overlooked the fact that Boris didn't say England only, Scotland and Wales ministers made that rule for us.. . 🤣🤣

I hear that, Chris - I can't wait to get back out for a camp too. Soon, I hope... soon.... until it all locks down again for the round two 😞
Nice one Trev, and some mood music. Yeah, some of the Tor’s we’ve done. We get over to the Moor a few times a year, love it.
Thanks Toruunn. Yes, I have received some stunning pics from viewers - its been a real pleasure to share them. Thanks for watching!

Its a great area to explore and very accessible too. Glad you are making the most of the moor walks. Thanks for watching!
Your passion for the moors is inspiring Trev! I believe I have the same for the Big Horn Mountains.
I'm really getting to know this area well, Max - and I think the passion shows when you know what you're on about. One day maybe I will see the Big Horn mountains too. Stay safe Max!
Another great video Trev, loving your walks, I have a phobia of snakes too,but for some weird reason I would love to see one
ATB Mate

Haha... Yea, it's tempting but I'm just happy to isolate for now, at least I'm getting out once a week. Take care bud and thanks for watching!
Thanks trev nice walk ,yes tor was the first one I did back in the 90s which got me hooked on walking .cant walk far now back and knee problems
Ah thats a shame Andy - hopefully my videos help to give you a fix of the high tors. Thanks for watching!
Another great vid. Still hoping to see a special episode featuring Nath! Glory days watching you two grow
Cheers mate - keep watching this space!
Thanks for the video, scratching my Dartmoor itch! Been dying to get out there again especially being summer.
Yea it's such a shame, Chris, hope you manage to get up at some point. All the best!

Yeah, there'll be tents all over the place, I reckon. Thanks for watching, Chris and for sharing your pics! Cheers!

A great day for it too. One of my favourite parts of the moor. Bleak but beautiful. Cheers for watching!
How lovely to have that on your doorstep nice one Iv not been to Dartmoor since October 2019 can't wait to get out.Take care Ana
Hopefully you will get there before too long, Ana. Thanks for watching!
GS I can't wait to get out there and do some kayaking and tarp camping again think I gained 40lbs in 8 weeks of isolation lol. 👍💯
Haha... Yea, I know that feeling. It's real easy to eat for a pastime when you're sitting around the house, too. Thanks for watching
Cheers Trev for a great video. Thanks for the useful tip on cotton tails ATB
No worries, Pete. Glad that you enjoyed it.
Up on Fur Tor yesterday, hellish wind, had the place all to myself.
I bet it was windy yesterday, Marcus! A great tor, though. Not been up there since the second time I ever hiked Dartmoor. Must revisit soon. Thanks for watching!

Great account of your walk as usual Trev, thanks for sharing. You fair 'cracked on' at a speedy pace. Cotton Tails are also a patchy feature of the Pennines. Keep that Moral going it is a spread of infection that people do appreciate.

Summit Or Nothing it’s on my ever increasing list of places to go Trev. Thanks for sharing it though. Always great to see places. Andy
What are the big square large metal boxes at the top of Yes tor and others afterwards.
I assume something to do with the military... but you know what they say about assume
Was up around that area myself yesterday Trev! Great to be able to get back out on the Moor again! 👍
Cor, bet it was a bit blustery up there yesterday.. nice to be back though! Thanks for watching!
Really wish I lived near Dartmoor 😩 love the content trev
Thanks Wllie - yeah, I consider myself one of the lucky ones at this time. Thanks for watching!
Devon,💪💪
Nice one trev i love this area of the moor
In fact I was at high willhays myself yesterday 👍
I managed to respond to your tag aswell, should be up by the morning.
Great content mate I love the dartmoor stuff 😃
Cool- look forward to seeing that Dean - cheers for watching!
Ever heard Yes' Tor-mato album?
Cant say I have!
It's probably their oddest album from the 70s. Cover art included...
Man, you get through some miles Trev. Thanks for the views.
Yeah, I did try and get out for a decent stomp once a week. Thanks for watching, Nigel.
Think the phrase you were looking for was barren, Trev. It can be a bit boring to look at but has a bleak beaty, as you've said before.
Haha... yeah, I think you may be right... A case of Trev's verbal diarrhoea strikes again lol.
WHAT DID HE DO HE DID IT WHAT ? YES HE DID
lol, stop apologising, the South Moor is bleak! Ignore offended people. I saw that trek you did with the chest-high hillocks, that was a chaotic landscape. And the moor tends to be more lacking in tors near the centre/south. More dramatic east/west, more crowded in east.
Yea, it was only half in jest - just felt it needed addressing lol. Thanks for watching!
One dislike,,really?? Some saddo's out there Trev.
Haters gotta hate, Andy. As long as the likes heavily outweigh the dislikes then I'm ok with that!
Really enjoy your content Trevor, I always look forward to your videos. Thanks for sharing!
I appreciate that! cheers
