The equation means the power you have to output to overcome drag! Rho(Greek letter that looks like a p) being the density of air, Cd being your drag coefficient, A your frontal area, v_w being the velocity of the wind, v being the velocity you’re riding at and P being power obviously.
Right on Tom ! 💯💯 If you'd like to read more on the subject, we've done a R&D deep dive on the E-119 Tri+ Disc' aero performance and a white paper: www.argon18.com/en/stories/r-d-deep-dive-e-119-tri-disc-aero-performance Thanks for the great bike review Harry 🙌
Great to see and hear you being so excited about this beautiful piece of kit. It shows your humbleness and gratefulness to be equipped with top notch gear. Have fun!
Very intersting! When I bought my Trinity, Argon was one of other bikes I really considered buying. I'm glad that you are happy about the new purchase. I didn't buy the triathlon model though. The reason was exactly because of that front hydration system. I read about so many problems with it. I think it depends on the fram size though. I might have written it on another video of yours, but I wanted to have the lower limit of my setup lower, so I went for the TT version. I was going to completely change the front end anyway. Now I have printed out a complete mono aero bar reinforced with a carbon pipe. I'll be making a video about it soon. Some call it a space ship. haha About brakes on Trinity... It really depends on the cabling you do. I thought I was gonna die when I went for the first ride. I had to rewire completely new with better cables. It works with certain wheels way better too. maybe your combination was not good. I can go down hill without any fear now. I hope you will perform well this season! Where will you be racing? I'll be doing IM Frankfurt, 70.3 Dresden and 70.3 Erkner. If you race in Germany let me know!
I have no interest in bikes or triathlons in general tbh (I can barely even swim) But really enjoy you videos, not remember how I found your Chanel but glad I did
Bike is looking good! For disc vs rim, I think the hydraulic discs are way easier to maintain day to day, especially if you get caught in crap weather. I’ve had so many cables and outers just gunk up that I’ll probably make my next TT bike a disc… in about 5 years 😂
E-119 is the top-end TT bike @Argon. Based on price point, the Trinity is more comparable to the E-117, which I am riding with Disc. E-117 is a wonderful value for money bike, similar to the Trinity. You're right about Argon TT bikes are pleasant to ride on hills. Enjoy and Be safe
Pretty sure the front bottle on the cube and canyon is the same from profile design Aeria model. Love the section of the head tube back to the front triangle. Sooo deep
Nice review! Is yours the 2022 version? I got mine about a month ago with SRAM etap RED but the Speedshop cockpit looks a little different. Your aero bars are very upright where mine are lower and pointing more forward. Also I don’t think my has the mounting feature for the simple front hydration solution your s have with the bottle holder. I’m mounting a torpedo on mine instead.
Sweet ride! Been drooling over this bike since it first launched. Haha! How deep does the bento sink into the top tube? How many gel can you pack into it?
Their is a hypothesis it’s called Accums’ Razor basically it states all things being equal the simplest solution is usually the best. I heard this years ago and generally it turns out to be true. I really wish my bike had a. Integrated hydration system that really worked like the new Speedmax. I have tried most of the aftermarket options currently I am using the control tech time zone seams to work well I’ve only been ridding a tribike for a year so the system makes it easy but I probably just need to grow up and put a single bottle between the arms.
Pluses and minus for all in my experience with multiple types. I mean, an integrated system looks cleaner and is a bit more aero friendly especially over a down tube or seat tube mount, behind the butt is ok but a pain to reach back and forth many times an hour. However, integrated systems can be a pain to clean and sometimes the covers on the top tube leak inside which can cause problems with the frame, not ideal on a $12,000 bike! They can also splash on larger bumps and get your legs and maybe your chest sticky from whatever your mix is. This risk is substantially reduced if you don't fill them to the brim and as you consume and thereby lower the fluid level. Between the arms systems also have their problems. Many will leak from the area around the straw or from where you fill it with more fluids, refilling them is also a messy endeavor. If you just have plain water it isn't a big deal but any mix turns into a sticky mess! Because they lay more flat the risk of splash stays high even as the fluid level drops. However, the aero penalty of them isn't too bad and they are considerably easier to clean than a reservoir bag and a bunch of little parts. You can also see the amount of fluid you've consumed which is a plus over an integrated bladder. However, they also affect your handling as more weight will be out front of your steer tube, it'll feel a bit more sluggish when taking tighter corners. That got way more long winded than I thought it would. But long story short, there is not "right" or "wrong" answer. Play around and see what works for you but don't set yourself onto one concept before trying it out. Otherwise, I wish you many happy hours of riding!
@@samanderson7745 some great points, I’m a new Triathlete just finished my 1st event 70.3 Maple Valley. I also spend most of my time riding on the trainer do to time constraints so I have tried most of the front aero systems on the market. I Hamamatsu currently using the control tech time zone. It has worked well so far. As I build my bike handling skills and race more who know what I will like.
@@irondistance4313 In all honesty, that's part of the fun of the sport, you'll collect a shop's worth of gear over time, haha! I've been known to take stuff to races and just give it away to other athletes to clear up space in my pain cave. I do a fair amount of indoor training as well, so don't feel bad about it. Thst said, I see a lot of people who have all thr fancy gear but they can't put out any power. Focus on thr training first and foremost, the equipment is second to you. Find something that is functional but most importantly something you're not cursing at every 2 minutes. Welcome to the club!!!
@@samanderson7745 thanks Sam I agree to both points it is funny to tweet your bike, yes you can buy speed but without any power your not getting very far.
Over the winter I generally have the road bike on the turbo and ride that outside and then closer towards the season I will ride the TT bike on the turbo to get used to the position and then when the weather is good take it out on the road too
I have the Cube TT bike and my experience is the exact same from you mate. I ended up going for an in between the arms bottle and ditched the front hydration system. Cool concept but not very practical in the real world.
My trinity from bottle is great idk why you said that about the bottle , for me that’s one of the best ideas ever on a bike , I love that feature bro lol don’t talk about it like that ☹️😅

glad you are enjoying your new bike!!
That tube compartment is a life saver ! The bladder in the new speedmax is ok , a bit hard to clean but sleek and works perfectly.
I do like the look of the bladder- definitely a lot better than a bottle on the front of the frame
That’s a sweet frame and set up. Those grippy handles seems a no brainer.! Totally agree with the front bottle set up, just keep it simple.
Thanks Dean, absolutely

Very nice. I'm from Brazil and I'm training for my first ironman
Cool vid! Do you know the max spacer stack you can raise the pads?
Giant has always been value for money....btw Gustav Eden is sponsored & using the Giant Trinity & his Norwegian mates too
