I did this when I was desperately looking for Flavor 8 by Rick West. I wrote to Rick directly and he sent me a .ZIP File with a FLAC file of Flavor 8. I was so grateful. I was hoping to meet Rick at Painted Puppy years ago before his passing. Unfortunately, I never got out to Tampa to meet him. (I am here in Arizona). May he rest in peace. Have you checked Pauls webpage at www DOT djsantana DOT com or scoured MixCloud or Soundcloud? His webpage shows uploads dating as far back as 2004. Good luck and if you do find it, post the link.
