    Sir , why the repeller voltage is taken to be at higher value than to start with the lower one. Plz explain 🙏

      Dear jangid, first we will keep the beam voltage. In our case we have assumed it to be 252 volts. Now we will adjust the repeller voltage. The voltage at which we will get the maximum amplitude say -ve 205 volts, we will increase and decrease the repeller voltage. The amplitude where we will have minimum voltage, in our case it is -215 volt and -197 volt. In short at 252 beam voltage we found the range of repeller voltage between -197 to -215 volt with maximum amplitude at -205 volt.
      We can calculate any lower (-197 volt) or higher (-215 volt) first. But our intention is to find the range at which repeller voltage can work for that particular beam voltage.

    Thank you for the explanation. But can you please explain how come the CRO is able to display such high frequency of around 8 GHz, whereas the CRO can display a signal of maximum 1 Ghz ?

      The CRO specification is 20 MHz not 1 GHz. We are modulating the 8 GHz freq to low freq signal i.e 1 KHz so that we can able to do the analysis of the microwave freq signal by the CRO. Other option available with us is to use Spectrum Analyser {whose average cost is 10 lac} where modulation is not required and we can do the analysis directly as it can work in GHz freq.
      The Spectrum Analyser will display the freq-time graph where as CRO will display the amplitude-time graph.

      Cro only display modulating signal. Its display detecter o/p. not carrier signal(GHZ)

      Dear S Ajith,
      In reflex klystron as we keep the beam voltage constant and adjust the repeller voltage so as to get the sinusoidal waveform on the cro. We will note the repeller voltage at which
      we get the max peak to peak voltage. The repeller voltage above and below this repeller
      voltage the peak to peak voltage will be decreasing. We will note down the two reading
      above and below this max voltage. If we decrease we will again get the second peak to
      peak max voltage. we will note down the second max peak to peak, and two values
      above and below this second max peak. Similarly we will note down the third max peak
      to peak. In reflex klystron we will get max three sets of pair having max peak and two
      low voltages above and below that value.
      So the summary is that for a set of fix beam voltage and variable repeller voltage max
      three pair of one max value and two above and below lower values are possible.

    hi if i turn the fm mode what is the output ?

      Dear George Veropoulos, it is not that one can not tune to FM Mode. We can go for Continuous Mode, AM Mode, FM Mode or External. It totally depends on our requirement. FM Mode is used by telecommunication engineers during testing of FM signals. Only thing in FM Mode is that we will get slotted output. Which ever the mode we are using, we should adjust the Repeller voltage and the beam voltage so as to get the proper waveform on the CRO.

      @@DIWAKARTIWARY Yes i mean FM mode i have a problem with AM MODE(maybe the power supply have problem) What is the waveform when i chooce the FM mode for the klystron ?

    when the square wave blinks? (In case of frequency measurement)Any concept behind it?

      It is not square wave blinks,when we rotate the DRFM max there will be three slots where the square wave will be seen. These are the different modes. In each mode while rotating the DRFM we have to see the point where there is dip in the waveform i.e minimum amplitude. At this point we have to see the freq in DRFM that is the required freq.Thus we will have three different freqs for three modes.
