Wow Trogly thank you for telling us about Don Greenwald. That's a name I won't forget but never heard it on your channel. Small guitar world. I bought a 59 es 335 from Don in the early 2000s. At that time I was a student and didn't have a lot of money but really wanted the guitar. Don gave me a great price and even helped me with the duty costs for getting it to Canada. He sent me some photos of headless guitars and an ad from a magazine if I remember correctly. I think I still have them at my parents' house. I wish I still had the guitar but I stupidly sold it a few years later. It had the perfect neck profile for me that I'm still looking for and is the benchmark for any Gibson I may buy to this day. Occasionally I would email him if I saw something headless that I thought he might like. He was a class act and a guitar ambassador. RIP Don, thanks Trogly.
He was a great gentleman from the dealings I had with him as well! I had hand-delivered that TLP to him because I was scared it would get destroyed in transit. It was very sad news to hear!
@@peejay6930 I feel the same way. I’ve always loved that cream/custard kind of yellow aging, especially on Les Pauls. But I actually like it when the binding is totally white contrasting with the aged white body.
Hi ! The owner of this fabulous collection is my best friend I saw this collection growing up from the very beginning ! I’m proud of him ! And proud to be his friend !!! R
I never thought there could be in my wildest dreams such a collection of beautiful guitars. This really hurts to think that they exist and I’ll never touch or own one of them. I’m proud of mine, I played and worked my butt off to have my collection but this is too hard to wrap my brain around.
Loved that 12 string SG! Also the SG-2 with the crazy paint job on the front and the back. Also I never knew the Les Paul recordings had black binding around the headstock so cool! Also that 25/50 Les Paul had a beautiful top! The white Les Paul Custom Super 400 was a beauty as well... LOTS of great eye candy!
You know Austin- when you showed off Steve Howe's LP, I was jazzed by you being the one person to do business with Howe. But, after watching your Trogly show I figured it out that Steve knew best how to use the ES-175 and didn't want an LP over his signature sound and for electric guitars I spent my time over acoustics. I've gotten to the point to not let anyone touch them anymore because if anybody breaks one, it should be only me. I did once and I had no one else to blame, just me. When I start my building my electrics, I want to sell off some of my stuff then. Cheers!
I’ve read often that maple necks are more stable than mahogany, yet my 2009 Schecter Devil Custom’s neck is damn near bulletproof. Since moving to Kentucky from California in 2018, i find i have to adjust my maple neck fender, LP tribute and EVH Wolfgang far more than that Korean made mahogany monster.
I remember when Gibson came out with the 12 string SG. I didn't know it was a limited edition of 450. Tis would be the only reason why I would take up playing a 12 string guitar. They should bring those back, along with the SG tenor guitar.
The Old Hickory's are my favorite, I just love them, so bold, but with a chill vibe, just fits my style perfectly, I would certainly turn it into a cared for players guitar, and unfortunately by time I could get one, they'll be out of reach once again. I still enjoy seeing them once in a while.
I wanted one of those Spider-Man Les Paul’s with the web inlay. I remember being in middle school when they came out and they weren’t that expensive for what they were. If I recall correctly, the Stan Lee signed ones were a few hundred more in cost
I was so excited to be able to try one of those recordings out... But I tried one set up with very heavy, old flatwounds...it was sitting in the case over ten years too... Completely not the exact experience I was excited about. 😩
What exactly is that website? Is it just pictures of guitars that he has obtained? Does he own all those guitars? Are any of them for sale? What's going on?

The Duran Duran Les Paul is awesome! It is so 80’s and the artwork really captures that time period…
I agree, and I think the yellowing enhances it, bright white never looks quite right to me

@@stop736 me too (not that me too) but mine is the Sex Pistols Steve Jones aged white rather than Randy's 🙂
Artist's name is Patrick Nagel (RIP), who did a lot album covers.
Hi !
The owner of this fabulous collection is my best friend
I saw this collection growing up from the very beginning !
I’m proud of him !
And proud to be his friend !!!
R
Love that tobacco sunburst Explorer. Or just the color in general, especially over mahogany, goes with pretty much any guitar
The white custom super 400 is sweet
Austin you should review Epiphone 58 Korina V and Explorer…
Gardiner Houlgate have a March auction. Catalogue viewing available now. My collection is up for auction in June. Wish me luck.
Just simply WOW! I had zero idea that these guitars existed. That last one, with that quilted back, damn.

The Corvettes, out of ALL of those guitars, I love the Corvettes the most.
Played it till my fingers bled
That's why my inlays are red
🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸
"some guy named john"
John romita was the artist for the spiderman comics at the time.
REALLY FELL IN LOVE WITH THE DOMMENGET 2008 EX90 AKUSTIC EX-MATTHIAS JABS/SCORPIONS GHAD DAMN
Honestly hate the 2002 Spider-Man guitar. I'm old school so I like the other model even though it's a bolt on cover. Just prefer the graphic more.
I'm a sailor. If I had one of these in a month I'd trim off 70% of value. That last Les Paul is the best looking guitar I've ever seen.
I love that refinished SG and I'm not an SG fan.

Definitely a sweet collection. The "joker" guitar towards the end is actually Hendrix's "Are You Experience"! Sweet.
Take a closer look at the koa Les Paul. It has abalone cloud inlays, not SJ-200 "crown" inlays.
1:05 Studio Les Paul's have gold hardware. (also nothing wrong with a Studio).
“Joker” fantasy les paul at 15:56? Looks like are you experienced Hendrix cover yo
I believe you are correct
I’ve never seen so many old exotic hardwood 80’s Schecters and aluminum Fenders
Gibson made a John Lennon Special with that Charlie Christian pickup in it, I only saw one on Norm’s Rare Guitars and that was a while ago.
Joker design? Did you miss the Are You Experienced LP cover art?

Of all the guitars at the beginning, I love the 335S... my first guitar. I need another.

Love the natural finish 25/50. Really nice! The back on that Koa...🤤 Awesome website. Trogs Old Hickory is gorgeous
That's not a Joker design. That's The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced design
Wow what a collection! That red brad Whitford one was sweet
I remember when Gibson came out with the 12 string SG. I didn't know it was a limited edition of 450. Tis would be the only reason why I would take up playing a 12 string guitar. They should bring those back, along with the SG tenor guitar.
A regular Les Paul Standard without the binding? Otherwise known as a Studio. Ha! I guess it makes it sound more fancy to mention a Standard.
The SGII gave me vibes from the video to "Somebody that I used to Know"
Any Epiphone Japan Les Pauls laying around? "Japanese Domestic" They sure did make some VERY nice Les Pauls. Open book headstock & all!
Find a 25th anniversary Les Paul. They were rare and beautiful !!! With amazing fret inlay ..
Those Duran Duran ones were real. I remember them. Was one at local store. Was pretty pricey. And yes they looked a lot better new before aging
The Old Hickory's are my favorite, I just love them, so bold, but with a chill vibe, just fits my style perfectly, I would certainly turn it into a cared for players guitar, and unfortunately by time I could get one, they'll be out of reach once again. I still enjoy seeing them once in a while.
What do you think of the old Hamer guitars from Korea, like the 'Slammer'?
The diamond cut LP needs an ebony fretboard imho
Just HOW BAD will the neck dive be on that 12 string SG?
What are the different sayings Les Paul would write with his signatures? What did each mean?
also 15:59 is not a joker but it's a Jimi Hendrix album Are You Experienced?
and the Bluesbreakers album underneath possibly
My question on the Charlie Christian model is what are those three screws for where the bridge pickup would be had there been one.
www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/one-cc-pickup-thread-to-rule-them-all.1943553/
Ooh that was a bunch of eyecandy for guitar fans
Do you think that Duran Duran LP was for a UK customer? And the 12-string....I always love those.
I wanted one of those Spider-Man Les Paul’s with the web inlay. I remember being in middle school when they came out and they weren’t that expensive for what they were. If I recall correctly, the Stan Lee signed ones were a few hundred more in cost
How much do the "THE" les pauls cost? And is the wine red one worth a lot more than the natural?
The one aged inlay. Same on my 2005 standard. Weird lol.
I think the that ES artist guitar looks cool as hell. I kinda like it better in that condition because it gives it character.
Awesome collection!
Man, I would love to try playing that Les Paul Recording model, I bet it’s tonal possibilities are just about endless.
I was so excited to be able to try one of those recordings out... But I tried one set up with very heavy, old flatwounds...it was sitting in the case over ten years too... Completely not the exact experience I was excited about. 😩
HAHA Les Paul wrote "Keep Pickin' " on my LP.
The pinnacle of guitars collecting; Gibson guitars are only part of this wonderful iceberg;
Congrats my friend
It has to be said he has some cracking stuff, but to be a real completist, he needs a lefty of each.... 😁 Orville Gibson was lefty and played lefty.
A 12-string SG is incomplete without a lyre tailpiece.
Patrick Nagel's artwork used to appear in Playboy magazines.
That diamond pattern looks like a violin face pad
Hey everyone! Quite the collection if I do say so myself
The “joker” guitar looks like Jimi Hendrix Are You Expeienced?
That’s a very cool website
Great episode.
That pattern is called checkering or cross hatching you find it mostly on the stock of a high-end rifle when it's done in wood
The diamond cut looks like it’s finished with bathroom tile’s.
Is 7637 good price for a Les Paul supreme?
Welcome back troglydytes to your daily dose of guitar information
Great show..!!
It's ashame that guitar's cost that much
The Diamond cut reminds me of enlarged gunstock checkering
Someone spent a lot of time hunting down and acquiring those guitars. What a great way to go through life!!
I LOVE the Hickory ones…………
12:58 The ballsack Les Paul
Please do a review of the new Epiphone Korina V and Explorers!
Some really interesting guitars Iv never seen. I always think your going to run out of guitars to document but they keep coming
Please do a CS336 🤘🏻
Those spider man LP's look like something you'd find at Toys r Us.
Love the LP Stars and Stripes!
Holy 💩that flamed Koa…..dayum.
Yo
At 16:00 the body has a picture of part of the Hendrix album cover from Are You Experienced?
Yeah and Trogly missed that! 😧
Hmm
8:24 is gorgeous
Think I'm ready to trade my 2 USA's for a Custom
Sweetwater actually sets up the guitars they sell unlike most retailers, they come ready to play.
I love how much you nerd out on wood grain like me
The diamond cut Les Paul is hideous:-)
I feel bad for the eleven decent people in Portland, the rest of them deserve this.
What an awesome website, thanks Trogly!!!
What exactly is that website? Is it just pictures of guitars that he has obtained? Does he own all those guitars? Are any of them for sale? What's going on?
I did not know the house of guitars has a guitar made for them Rochester New York is 40 miles from me House of guitars is the coolest ever

Haha we're back at guitars we've never seen waaw🧐👍👍👍👍
I would pay a stupid amount for either spider-man guitar. Love it
A few have popped up in recent years usually around 10k - the movie one is usually a bit more
What's up people?
The moon
What's up James!
Watching Trogly.
Nice work
Well….. I love guitars, both playing and building them. But when I see things like this, I am struck by the amount of money wasted. I know that I am in the minority in this but I thought someone should say it.
How is his money wasted if he buys things that he loves and enjoys and they exist????????
pain
WOW!
