The lyrics of Blame it on the Sun by Stevie Wonder describe a person who is heartbroken and struggling to understand why their love has gone away. The singer is searching for answers as to why they feel so lost and disconnected.
The first verse asks where the singer's love has gone and how they can go on without it. The singer feels like their love has gone astray, and they are nowhere near their spirit.
In the chorus, the singer blames their heartbreak on various external factors such as the sun, wind, trees, time, tide, and sea. However, deep down, the singer knows that their heartbreak is caused by their own actions.
The second verse asks who poured the love out and what caused the singer's bitter doubt. The singer wishes they could express their feelings, but they cannot find the words to do so.
In the second chorus, the singer once again blames external factors for their heartbreak, such as the sun, birds, trees, day, and nights. However, this time, the background vocals suggest that the singer's heart blames themself for their heartbreak.

Stevie played all the piano and synth parts and the drums on every track (that have them). He doesn’t play guitar, so when not playing Moog bass, he’d have someone else play electric bass. Other than a few instrument overdubs from guest musicians, he played everything else. On all of his 70’s stuff.

The lyrics of Big Brother by Stevie Wonder seem to be a commentary on government surveillance, oppression, and social inequality. The singer is addressing "Big Brother," a term that refers to an all-knowing government that monitors its citizens' every move.
The first verse describes how Big Brother is watching the singer on television, seeing them "go nowhere," and is tired of their protesting against the injustices that children face every day. The singer's name is "nobody," but they are waiting for Big Brother to come to their door so they can confront them face to face.
The second verse continues the theme of government surveillance, with Big Brother writing down everything the singer does in a notebook. The singer refers to Big Brother as "I'll see ya," implying that they are only interested in the singer during election time. The singer lives in the ghetto, where they are surrounded by poverty and roaches.
The final verse is a scathing critique of government corruption and the killing of leaders who speak out against it. The singer says that they don't even have to do anything to Big Brother because the government will ultimately cause its own downfall. Overall, the song is a powerful statement against government oppression and the struggle for social justice.
Here is a breakdown of each lyric:
    1. "Your name is big brother" - The singer is addressing a government that is all-knowing and watches its citizens' every move.
    2. "You say that you're watching me on the tele" - The government is monitoring the singer's actions on television.
    3. "Seeing me go nowhere" - Despite their efforts, the singer feels like they are making no progress.
    4. "Your name is big brother" - The government is referred to again as "Big Brother."
    5. "You say that you're tired of me protesting" - The government is growing tired of the singer's protests against social injustice.
    6. "Children dying every day" - The singer is fighting against the injustices faced by children on a daily basis.
    7. "My name is nobody" - The singer feels like their voice is not heard by the government.
    8. "But I can't wait to see your face inside my door" - The singer wants to confront the government face-to-face.
    9. "Your name is big brother" - The government is referred to again as "Big Brother."
    10. "You say that you got me all in your notebook" - The government is writing down the singer's every move.
    11. "Writing it down every day" - The government is monitoring the singer's actions on a daily basis.
    12. "Your name is I'll see ya" - The government is only interested in the singer during election time.
    13. "I'll change if you vote me in as the pres" - The government promises change if the citizens vote them into power.
    14. "The President of your soul" - The government wants to control every aspect of the citizens' lives.
    15. "I live in the ghetto" - The singer lives in a poor, urban area.
    16. "You just come to visit me 'round election time" - The government only pays attention to the singer during election time.
    17. "Someday I will move on my feet to the other side" - The singer hopes to one day overcome their situation and move out of the ghetto.
    18. "My name is secluded" - The singer feels isolated and unheard.
    19. "We live in a house the size of a matchbox" - The singer lives in a small, cramped space.
    20. "Roaches live with us wall to wall" - The singer is surrounded by poverty and insects.

DAVECHER, it is so good to realise that young people are discovering older music. I don’t want to appear as a curmudgeon, but the music of my youth is much better than today’s. The superstars, such as Adele, Sheeran etc hit the height of mediocrity at best. I don’t want to hear Taylor Swift singing nursery rhyme tunes either…
