Yes I charge my I3 from home most of the time. The time it takes to charge varies depending on how much you have left before you put it back to charge. I don't go by KWh as I am ignorant to that measurement. I know if I have 8 or less miles it takes about 16 hours to fully charge. If I have like 30 miles left 8-10 hours or Overnight to fully charge. We don't always fully charge the car as the everyday commute is around 20 miles per day. Hope this helped in answering your questions.

I have an i3 with the range extender and installed a 240V charger in my garage. It's supposed to give a full charge in 3-3 1/2 hours. I generally plug mine in during the evening when the electric rates are cheaper. Checking my bills last year vs this year and there was no change after buying the i3 in March, however, we have been traveling a lot this year so it's not a fair comparison. Hey Eric, I retired in 2002 and moved from Lancaster (40th West and Ave. K) to Arroyo Grande. I have a niece in Seattle who works in high tech and programmed the GPS for the i3! It was brave of you to buy and i3 without the RE while living in Lancaster (unless you have another car).

I just did a 200 mile road trip this past weekend... wasn't fun. Last night we ended up going 83 miles on a single charge around 55 - 65 mph. Half the fast chargers weren't working yet, it sucked

Nice road trip, Eric! I'm curious to know what was your driving time from Lancaster to Santa Monica. I know that in California driving time depends on how is the traffic on a given day,not necessarily how many miles. Thanks for sharing.

The trip took around an hour and twenty minutes to an hour and a half depending on traffic. On this trip I took my entire family three adults and a child. You milage and time can vary alot. Los Angeles traffic is unpredictable.

Great video - thanks for posting. How's does the AC perform in the desert heat?

The AC works good and chili. The only concern that I have about the AC is that it is a bit loud for me. When the car is quite and you hear this loud amount of air being pushed out it is distracting.
      Thanks for commenting

Eric Velasco Thanks Eric. I was thinking about getting one as my next company car. I've no issues with the range (especially on the forthcoming version with the higher capacity battery) . I borrowed one from work back in Feb and the timed heater was good - warming the car and melting the ice before I got in it. So if the AC is good enough for California - it's probably going to be OK for Lincolnshire in the summertime UK 😊

Just curious, do you usually charge your i3 at home or at a public charger ? For instance, have you ever measured the kWh need to fully charge the battery in different cases , for example, slow charging at home, fast charging from public rapid chargers, etc…?

Nice car, but I would've gotten the one with the range extender engine.
