He took my cross and gave me a crown.
He lifted me up as He laid His life down.
Tho’ lost in my sin,In His grace I am found.
He accepted the cost as He traded my cross for a crown.
The Lamb that knew no sin took my guilt and shame.
Hanging on the cross He made the great exchange .
There He paid the debt that I could not pay,
For a glorious crown that won’t fade away.
There’s a lying thief seeking to deceive,
But His words of fear I will not receive.
I have been redeemed,I don’t bear the blame,
For I have new life,and a brand new name!
He has given me more than I ever deserve,
And I stand here amazed by the King who would serve.
O the blood that was shed covers all I confess.
He has taken my shame and given His righteousness
