What really stands out with Reforger is the lighting and draw distances, really nicely done and important in a game. I've always loved a good draw distance and seeing how nicely it's being rendered is satisfying
Draw Distance is so important, especially in games like DayZ!
@@bethanyjacksoncanfield You can set view distance, object distance and shadow draw distance and grass draw distance on current dayz as well. But just like reforger it tanks your performance. Some servers in dayz allow bigger draw distance (3.5km ) but you gotta manually enable it in cfg file. in offline mode you can test it to 10km, and it's gorgeous. I think lighting and textures in reforger are insane.. if they managed to port it to DayZ... it would feel like a different game.. especially with dark interiors..
Official DayZ standalone have actually good draw distance, you can see other players at least in 2 kilometers if you have enough zoom to recognize them literally in one pixel or wider. I dont talk about able to shoot them, but you at least can watch.
By the way, Reforger and DayZ have abosolutely same version of Enfusion engine , so reason why DayZ have lower graphic it is just optimization and older development history. They need to redraw a lot of asstets, and in my opinion they have no reason for it, DayZ in nowadays is good

@@kocou71 not the same version of enfusion. DayZ is Hybrid of Enfusion and old engine. More enfusion but still has some old engine elements...

I liked Dayz based on ArmA Reforger. Looks great and gameplay much better. Hopefully they will complete the whole transition from Arma2 for this mod with all features. Particularly impressive was the new physics model for cars.

@@Dr3dze the name of the engine is the same but versions are different. which means that they are not the same. arma 2 != arma 3. windows 95 != windows 10. etc.

Almost 80C at 10-15% CPU load 👀 I'm not an expert but that could be a sign to change thermal paste or get a new cooler altogether.
It's probably only running on 2-4 cores, but with those cores CRANKED. Many older MMO's and poorly optimized games do this. They don't use your CPU properly, but what they can use they crank hard.
Ive seen the same thing in his sons of the forest benchmark hitting 90C wich is insane mine only does 45-50C watercooled loop 1x 480mm rad and another 480mm for the gpu

You could see the doors lagging, and in combat it's so delayed the enemy kept aiming inside when he ran out shooting :P

It wont be ever playable because Bohemia Interactive need to make engine updates and they will stop doing that in the moment they would have a playable version of Reforger. Then they will release ArmA 4 with that engine update. They did the same with DayZ SA and ArmA Reforger. This company dont give a sh*t on their customers.

Bohemia takes 30€ to give u a seperated crappy alpha which doesnt even give you ArmA 4.
You have to pay twice for it and the stuff in Reforger is the unpolished crap which was developed for DayZ SA.
Maybe u remember the roadmap, well its 10 years since the release so maybe not, but the stuff is still not released and they wont fulfill it.
But yeah, they literally said that arma reforger is just a test. Enjoy your life defending people who rip you off.

@@vanPoll Reforger is not meant to be finished anyways if one could even read the steam page, Reforger is here so people can make mods so when Arma 4 comes out they can just move them. Reforger is just a testing ground for mod devs. But I guess you and a bunch of other people are not bothered to read and then complain how it's "unfinished". Your point on DayZ stands though.
@@WildWolfMax whilst dayz is a bit of a buggy mess it’s actually very playable at the moment and they are focussing more on fixing bugs than adding new content, the game is nearing a completed state and has been feeling like a finalised game for about a year now, it’s extremely detailed and has acceptional graphics for a game of its size, I imagine you haven’t played it for a few years or just suck at it, the game is getting old and I don’t think you understand how the enfusion engines work and how difficult they can be, especially at fixing issues and bugs.

Hope it really is going to do the darkness at night well like.. no lights clipping in and out and that you can actually see lights from 3km away and not that it pops in and out. That rooms are lit realistically even from a distance. That you can hear a radio from a distance over 5m ... Hopefully they improve health and shot sounds like at 10:05 it was like he was far away and not that close. Much to improve but it already looks great. Can't wait for real optimized content and not "modded" stuff.

I'm almost 10 years into my dayz mod for arma 3, started in 2015 lol. I used Halek's framework however, built upon it / along side it for 8~ years.

I assume you mean for dayz, and yes there is a large chance of it occurring since the current enfusion engine it’s built on is getting old and more difficult to work with, on top of this dayz will need to keep up with other games popping up, particularly regarding graphics, and so because it would be extremely difficult to update the current dayz graphically I think it’s safe to assume a new dayz or dayz reborn will probably be announced sometime in 2024 or at most 2025, the game has been around for over 10 years after all.
If you did mean arma 4 as well, in that case, it’s pretty much the same, they would want to announce arma 4 pretty soon since the hype for it is starting to die down, as evident by the lack of players in reforger, and Arma reforger has been around for over a year or so now, so Bohemia has given the community plenty of time to play around with mods and get ready for Arma 4, I’d say it’s almost definite that Arma 4 is going to be announced sometime in 2024 and likely released late 2024- early 2025, same as DayZ

was thinking about getting reforger. I have a 4090 with 13th gen CPU and mega RAM SSD etc.... but then the reviews are mixed, mostly talking about performance.... bugs, and other BS. are their systems just not up to task or is it really buggy and poorly optimized?
Its still bad optimized.. takes at least another year i guess. But in this time modders bring new shit which makes it even worse by then😂

i think with the reforger dayz mod things only get spawned back on server rs so when a zombie dies its not going to respawn, playing this mod on a maxed server is just horrible

the game looks good but the console garbage feel of movement and simplifications feel like absolute ass.

the game looks awesome but the shooting mechanics and physics is stale af
The new game engine is good, but the game (the mod) itself has the same weak points as the original DayZ: poor environment design & cloned repeating buildings every 100 meters. If I would know how to make or update mods I'd make a richer, more interesting and drammatic environment, which tells a story, but not just accumulates the game assets in one place and calls it "village".
