- Seven days in the wilderness: Wabakimi Provincial Park. That's right. My son Noah and I were dropped off in the remote wilderness area by bush plane. For the next seven days we travelled by canoe through the second largest Provincial Park in Ontario's far north west (3 hours drive north of Thunder Bay).
Together, Noah and I would practice our canoeing, bushcraft and wilderness survival skills as we explored the area.
Alone in the Canadian Boreal Forest, we wouldn't see anyone else until we were picked up seven days later.
For us, this trip would be simply another Place to Paddle.

Man, what an adventure ! a brilliant, inspiring film. You have an amazing ‘backyard’ with all that wilderness. A couple of questions if I may: I'm guessing there was a third party with you? I was wondering how you achieved some of the shots, then figured that there was a red canoe on the floatplane too? Also water? did you carry your own supplies or filter the lake/river water? Top production, thanks. Also great to see the younger generation out in the wild away from their play-stations and the like.
Hey Andy, Thanks again for the compliments. Yes, we had two people with us to help (Jasmijn Decuyper as photographer and Jeff McColl who helped to paddle her canoe). All of our supplies were carried with us and we used a Platypus Gravityworks water filter system to clean our water.
How long have the two of you been paddling together? Great video by the way!
