Hello Stu......you still got this Bricky watching bro....all the way from San Antonio Texas....USA......love your videos my friend....keep up the great work.....
Another Amazing Video!!!!! Stay Safe Man!!!!!! Can't Wait To Do Bricklaying Myself!!!!! Do You Take Apprenticeships If So Could You Reply Thank You!!!!! Cheers Mate
Hi Stu, wondered if you can answer a Q for us? Building a small extension on the rear of my house and the inspector wants us to use Radon gas barrier under the concrete slab which is fine but he wants us to joint up to the existing in the house. Where would we find the existing ? Our house is piled
Great skills here, but as a complete novice, how do brickies keep each brick perpendicular ? I can see how working to a string line keeps em level, but front to back..........is it a trade secret ?
Whatcha mean front to back? If you're talking about the bond of the brick it's all eyeballed (half and whole typically). If you mean keeping the wall plumb, that's all done with the line as well. The face should be the lines with away from said line and cutting bed joint away shows if you're hacking. If it looks good at the joint but is far from the line it's leaning back and vise versa. In America we typically use speed poles starting out as opposes to leads to map courses and keep everything where it should be.
I know this is going to be a stupid question, but I’m new to the channel an to brick laying. What is the purpose behind the soldiers? How come you use soldiers over a window or door? Great channel btw been hooked since a friend recommended the watch! Cheers mate
I swear in another video you said weep holes go in every 4 bricks on a soldier course, I see 7, I'm just going to go for 6. Anyway top videos, appreciated.
hi, what’s the purpose of the round red spaces every 6 bricks when laying the soldiers bricks whats the method to the madness , complete new to bricklaying this is the 1st video I seen ,great content thanks for sharing

Not including the soldiers how many brick do you get per day around the window areas?
Ace idea using the polycarbonate sheeting as spot boards......that's the kind of tips I'm here for! 😉
Nice one Jim they’re giving them away for free to now as conservatories are being phased out.
@@Stucrompton1 where could I pick them up for free.?
About 50/60quid from b&q would make 4 spot boards.
I tryed gumtree no joy.
@@Stucrompton1 Even better!! 😂😂
@@JimJimpmjj your local window/conservatory place will have some because they use them temporarily sometimes when they waiting for glass👍

Hello Stu.Which area do you work in.
I can't understand how you get the soldiers to fit the gap exactly only measuring a couple of times. Practice I suppose?
Where do you get the yellow buckets and what's the brand size etc. Shitty buckets here in Canada always crack!
Me encanta todo lo que hacés!! Te contrataría, pero vivo tan lejos... ❤️
Have you worked with compressed earth block?
Why do you scrape the mortar on the lentil for the soldiers and not lay a proper bed? Isn't there less mortar at the back of the brick?
