Когда мне такое понадобилось (уезжал летом на несколько дней), я просто сделал в пробке дырки, обернул пробку тряпочкой, перевернул бутылку вверх дном и воткнул в грунт. Но в целом - система не надёжная: расход воды не равномерный и пропорционален объему воздуха в бутылке, который с каждым днём возрастает. Немного нивелировать неравномерность можно точным подбором диаметра трубки, но это лишний геморрой. Уж лучше сосуд Мариотта.

Thank you for this wonderful idea and the clear directions. I'm going to try this for my honeybee waterer and for a birdbath, as both bees and birds like access to water that moves. As well, I'm going think of a way to disguise or cover the bottle so it looks more attractive. I sure appreciate the suggestions for adjustments that other commenters have made.
Run the line into the soil at least 1 inch and it still works fine without the evaporation... the water gets to where the plant can use it. Stay safe. Provucite liniju u tlo najmanje 1 inč i i dalje radi dobro bez isparavanja... voda dolazi do mjesta gdje je biljka može koristiti. Budite sigurni.

Ho fatto questo prototipo usando un contenitore da 20 litri. All'inizio funziona bene ,poi mano mano scende il livello dell'acqua dal contenitore, rallenta fino a non scendere più acqua dall' estremità del tubicino...ed ho notato é di estrema importanza indovinare il diametro della cordicella Ke passa dentro il tubo...insomma non é così facile farlo funzionare correttamente. Seeing that 1 liter is 1000 ml and that a drop is normally 0,05 ml you can say that a liter of water is made of ~ 20'000 drops. Now, in the video each drop falls every 2.5 secs (average). So 20'000 drops multiplied by 2.5 and divided by 3'600 (secs/hour) it results that a liter of water will be empty in ~ 13 hours So I say that a realistic answer is between 10 and 12 hours per Liter, considering that at one point, when in the bottle there will be a small quantity of water, the sistem may stop - due to physic laws.

The only way to increase the time, is to adjust the drops falling at every 10 seconds (smaller tube or tightening the tube's end). Then you'll have an autonomy of 2 days/liter, that is ok for a small plant/flower and that is ok for watering if you have to leave for few days.

Heat is the problem... the water evaporates so fast the plant can't get it. Bury the line about an inch deep and there is little to no evaporation.
