I keep saying it too. Basically all of Season 5 and 6, starting from Rayna's death, (his acting, along with Maisy's had me grieving the loss like it was a real family member!) and really, all his scenes - with the girls, his dad returning, and navigating the sitch with Jessie - it is the most underrated acting performance I've EVER SEEN, he should've won multiple awards IMO.
After all this time I am still so very sad Rayna Jaymes died. I know she was a fictional character but I felt like she was a part of my life in a way. The wisdom of this character resonates with me in a huge way.
@@IWantToMature85 I know this is old but I think she just said that creatively, she wanted to move on. I'm guessing she wasn't expecting the show to get picked up after it was cancelled (as s4 did end quite nicely anyway).
I am binge watching the series on Amazon prime. Charles Esten ( Deacon) is amazing in this show and Jonathan Jackson was outstanding .To much music and just a lot of the characters I didnt care for . For instance Layla ,Scarlett ,Gunnar ,Juliette to many to mention .Maybe that was part of the problem just to many story lines .The show was very chaotic

How did this man not win any awards for his performances after Rayna' s death. His acting was so real and the viewers felt his pain
He and Maisy were SO impressive at acting grief, it's just so impressive the way they cry on cue and you feel their pain.

Always have a heavy heart rewatching scenes after her death because it’s upsetting to see Deacon without his soulmate and his true love!💗💗
I also love this because it’s Rayna telling him that he’s succeeded after he had thought he failed!😭❤️
