I was so excited when I saw this piece poking out of the top of the Artwork Racks at Las Vegas' newest Goodwill location! I recognized it immediately as a vintage Italian piece... lets go thrifting and find out what it is.

My friend buys large serving pieces from thrift stores for the holidays and donates them back after the holidays so she doesn't have to store them all year....and she can change her table decor.😀
My DIL buys casserole dishes and when she takes food to a funeral dinner or to a sick friend she tells them to keep the dish.

@@karenchasenvintage2029 I do that with desserts, just buy an antique platter to place it on at a thrift store,wrap it in a large cellophane bag,tie a ribbon and card on it ....easy,inexpensive and a great gift idea!
@@karenchasenvintage2029 such a sweet idea. This year I've been buying a couple bags of ornaments so I can include an ornament on top of each gift or card that I'm gifting this year. I love making "thrifty traditions".
Also those gift boxes that Dollar Tree just started putting out the last couple years, usually hit thrift store shelves around this time and right after Christmas. They are great investments, great quality, can be passed around, reused many years. I paid like 30 cents each, at the thrift store.

Another interesting and fun shopping experience. You found some elegant pieces of Americana and Italian history. I love those linens you found. My mother and I did a lot of embroidery back in the day. They evoked great memories for me.

Oh, Tiffany! Put the Italian tray next to the lovely hurricane lamp... Spectacularly beautiful!
the decanter cleaner set: metal balls could easily break a delicate glass decanter or vase. The waitress trick is to put chipped ice and salt into the container, and swish it around. You can add detergent if needed, but it's not usually needed. You won''t break a vase with salt and crushed ice.
CLR and hot water works great.
Denture cleansing tablets are pretty awesome too! They even take the funk out of the tank part of a toilet.
I just use a regular funnel, a spoonful of dry rice, a drop of dish soap and a little vinegar. Maybe kosher salt instead of soap, doesn't leave residue. Chipped ice and CLR you may not have around, no offense, everyone has rice.

Tiffany, you probably already know this: the product Retro Clean takes the yellow out of old/vintage linens.
So does baking soda and white vinegar - cheaper too!!

Tiffany, you always say for extra serving pieces, and such go to Goodwill because they have tons. That's not always the case. You live in a big city, that's why there is so much there. My Goodwill in the little town I live in is almost all clothes with a small book and even smaller dvd section. They virtually never have glassware or ceramics of any kind.
When I saw the two pretty blue ice cream dishes you passed on I thought…perfect for newlyweds. 👍

I've had Christmas items sell at random times throughout the year, and I've also done "Christmas in July" sales to sell through some items.
Christmas in July for leftover items is a great idea. I think I’ll do that with my items on Mercari that didn’t sell. Thanks!

Christmas stuff sells well immediately after Christmas also because people redeem gift cards and buy for themselves. Angels, nativity scenes, vintage ornaments sell well year-round too.
I thrift flowers from discount stores and thrift shops to put in my booth. I use them as decor for the season and to put in vases I sell. Also I always put in inexpensive candles in my candle holders. The couple extra bucks I spend will cause some ppl to spend a little more at my booth.

Today I bought little glass crystal bowls and plates for $1/$2 each. I wash and clean them and fill them with home made shortbread biscuits as gifts.
Mom called those dresser scarves. We all had them on our dressers.

We were at a bargain junk shop yesterday hunting for treasures to flip in our booth, and I spotted a 4 pc LE Smith Amber glass canister set!! As the owner was offering me an insanely cheap cost, I noticed the small one was chipped, and when I lifted the lid of the large one, it was missing the gasket and the edges were all broken and jagged. I left it all, and it hurt my heart so much! 💔

So glad you use the correct word for those "wooden shoes" - they are indeed Clogs - from the Netherlands, (not Danish)
I liked those - my great uncle brought a smaller version home for my Grandmother when he came home after WW2.
Sorry those are not Danish clogs made in Holland. They are Dutch Wooden Clogs…. Clogs were originally used by the farmers because they were water proof and kept their feet dry while they worked in the fields. Most Dutch farms have little canals around them, which the farmers would open to flood them periodically to water them when necessary
