Hi teapotone, I pity the 20,000 new recruits if the force treat their officers how they've treated you over this channel. You are a great ambassador for the police. I hope everything works out with what ever you do but please keep the channel going it's excellent!

Ok so I saw the video that you had to remove. You have a tough decision to make, and I do not envy that AT all. You know the term "ride your own ride"? It applies. We love your videos, you know this. The decision on who you are, is yours. Personally, I will continue to watch and enjoy your content regardless. Do you, what makes you happy and keeps a roof over your head, it is a balance. When you make it to the west coast of the States, I will be there. Anyone who watches enough to "know you" will be appreciative no matter what direction you take. Be you, do what is right for you. I am not sure what else to say, other than thanks for being you.

Hi Bruce, it's Karen here and I have just received a couple of your fab stickers together with a wee handwritten note from you addressed to me personally which was a lovely touch so I wanted to send a message to you saying thank you . It was an extra touch that was unexpected and not what you usually get when buying things these days. I would also like to add that I love watching your videos (and I really must get into the habit of clicking the Like button more often!) and I hope that things are going ok at work for you - it's not good that you're having to go through that and karma will prevail I am sure. Lastly I would also like to say that you are an inspiration to me, and many other people too, having gone through what you have and I know this sounds corny before I even write it, but being a Mum myself and my Mum having gone through cancer too, I know your Mum would be so proud of you for getting out there and 'living your life'. I am lucky that my Mum got through it and I am so sorry your Mum wasn't so lucky. I wasn't sure how to message you so sorry if this wasn't the best place but thanks again for your note - it is being kept for sure and makes me smile looking at it. 😄

    Hi Bruce
It's good to hear that you're putting your mental and physical health first, no job is worth sending you down that black hole which can sometimes be very hard to climb back out of!
Most people during their lives come to a crossroads for whatever reason, it looks like you're at your particular crossing now. It sounds like you've decided to put yourself first and take that leap of faith, which is a brave thing to do, but with your skill set and life experience you'll succeed in your next venture. I'm sure something along the lines of running your own touring company has been thought about amongst other thing's. Time for you to de-stress in life and get your work - life balance back to a sensible level.
The bike looks like a beast, it's just the looks that I have a problem with, plus I'm a short arse with a 29 inch inner leg so it will be to tall for me. I ride a lower suspension 1200 GSA, I took the 1250 GS out for a spin a while back which was a big mistake, I had to hold myself back from upgrading early, but I know that I'll be jumping onto a 1250 GS when the time comes!
Hang in there and all of us subscribers wait with baited breath to see what you have planned for yourself!
    Cheers 👍

I love your videos and have to say you come across awesome, when you was riding into work the other week and you mention that the police wont go to burglary or muggings but happy to sit in a place to catch people speeding makes me think you are an awesome police officer!!!
You understand Joe public, we all seen what a small amount of bad apples can do. The way they speak to people gives a bad rap, you do the opposite and make them look like normal people
I love you channel and wont be going any where with content like this GREAT WORK

Awesome review, reminds me of how I felt about my mk1 SDGT when I got it, and again when it had its software upgraded to 2019 spec. These are amazing bikes and can do the big boring miles with luggage easily, then go chasing sports bikes (often catching and passing them)... if you get one then the Powerparts seat is really good, and heated. With the all weather miles you do that would be a nice addition.. I don't even have heated seats in the car.

Great test, bizarrely no KTM dealer in Dorset currently so no chance of trying one. Hopefully the powers that be realise your vids offer riding advice people may actually listen to and take on board regarding 30,40,50’s. This vid also brings home the point that the vid actually looks a lot quicker than the speedo suggests, hope that is clear to your internal judge and jury. Hopefully you can keep doing both, if not then it was probably meant to be.

Hope it all works out right Bruce . Great channel and content , in all your videos I've watched, and I've watched pretty much everything you've uploaded ( and bought and read your book ) , I've never seen footage of you riding "dangerously " and without regard for others safety on the roads .
It's a thin ( blue ) line we have to tread, let's just hope common sense prevails mate
    Good luck with everything

Another cracking video and the pleasure you get from biking is obvious. Hope you can sort the crap that's going on currently out. Love your videos, want to get back into bikes but had a bad smash when i rode them years ago (now 59) , have had some taster training sessions hated the 650 Honda rev rev rev and a pain trying to ride smoothly slowly. Enjoyed the cb500. Rode ab R65 back in the day so was never a speed merchant. Enjoy all your vids and especially training / rider improvements and can see you ride to the method. Watch some others and find myself questioning the positioning.
must get around to watching your round the world vids , keep going Bruce

Looked at this KTM but wasn't convinced! and brought a 1250 GS, it does everything a 1290 does all be it a bit slower (not always a bad thing!) it carries more luggage, better weather protection (whats that stuff called again?? rain? not seen that in a month!) and comes with equipment that you pay extra for on a KTM!
Nice to see some of my stomping grounds again, surprised you never called in to see TMF but do understand!!
Hope you find your mojo with your career and find a way forward, good luck fella.

Thanks for the video Bruce, brilliant as always. I have often thought of changing to KTM to be a little different; however, it would also involve changing accessories, which would be additional expenses. I have recently ordered a 1250 GSA to replace my current 1200 and should take delivery in about a month; can’t wait😃 Things will work out fine for you, I’m a firm believer in things happening for a reason; one door opens as another one closes. Take care and ride safe. Cheers, Andy.

Much as I love my GS, I’ve had three, I fancy a change back to sports tourers. Fancy a ride on the new RS but I need a test ride on one of these. Prefer the darker colour scheme though and the fact that it’s a chain drive is not an issue. I’ve only 4000 miles on my 1250 GSA so it may be a while yet. Keep your chin up Bruce, all the best for the future, things always work out for the best...😜😀

I've had the 2019 GT since March and approaching 4k miles. The bike is fabulous, no issues with reliability and is the finest handling/power/comfortable all in one bike I have owned. I have changed the end-can, lithium battery, screen ( to a smoked KTM standard) and steering damper to an adjustable reactive type, sometimes on 'touch down' there is a wobble, now eliminated and the steering is a little more direct.
Every day riding is Street damper/Street engine one-up with luggage (6ft 89kg) and the screen is in it's lowest position, 90 mph is comfy, perhaps your helmet contributed to some buffering? Through 30mph zones, 2nd gear, 70mph 5th gear, everywhere else 4th gear. I've taken the bike to Silverstone for a track day, intermediate group, GP circuit, no problem with keeping up with and taking on 'sports' bikes.
There are no negatives, only that the one hour quick ride may turn into a half day, oh and I get a numb bum after a couple of hours of continuous riding, no aches anywhere else.

Great video as always! Keep them coming!! The only things on my GT that are an issue (living in Arizona ) is the heat thrown off the engine can be high and i am trying to figure out a heat shield of some sort, and the stock seat for a touring bike is uncomfortable after a couple hours ( subjective i know ) also seat height may be an issue for many. I replaced the windscreen with something higher as at my height the stock setup was not doing much even at the highest setting...overall a great bike so far.. more sport than touring in my opinion, I tend to ride my Ducati Multi Strada when I go on a long trip as i find that bike more comfortable....D

Hold on Bruce so your saying weather protection is CRAP, and unlike a gs which you can be in the wrong gear hit the throttle it goes you have to change gear and ride in 4th or 3rd to have fun, never heard you say that you had Helga in 4th to have fun. Plus on the GS you don't have to set app's or press loads of buttons to get the heated grips on, it's move right thumb on lol. Please don't give up this your are one of the best on here...

    • @teapotone
      @teapotone  5 лет назад +2

Aye Chris, this is the beauty of having these bikes for a few weeks. You get the initial reaction when you first jump on a bike and how it makes you feel, but then once you’ve ridden it for a while you start to see the drawbacks and minus points.
There will be at least one more vid coming with my final review on it, don’t worry 😉👍

Great video! I frequently ride 2.5 hours on the highway for work, with my Duke 890R. I love that bike, but even with a windscreen, I am pretty tired when I come off the bike. I am considering the GT due to the stints on the highway, but I can see on your video that windprotection isn't great? The Superadventure is too big for me to do city driving and lanesplitting all the time. I don't mind a bit of wind, but do you think the difference on the helmet between a 890 duke and a GT will be significant enough, to be less tired after a longer motorway stint? I know it's subjective, but can I hear your personal thoughts on that?

I ride a GS now to slow down a bit as North York’s is flooded with camera vans and it’s ruined any semblance of spirited riding. I don’t mean in 30’s either but in sneaky places. It must of had quite an impact on bike and sports car sales. The days of getting pulled by a ‘ proper ‘ traffic cop in North York’s who can then make a decision based on how you were riding and give valuable advice if needed are long gone.

Aye sadly that’s true about large parts of the UK now bud. I understand why they do it in accident hotspots, but it seems they just put them where they think they’ll deliver the highest revenue now.
It’s hard to argue against as people will just say - “Don’t speed”. But in my book there’s only inappropriate speed.
Then again, that’s why I’m in the situation I currently find myself in 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I have a 2016 gt and love it
But I don't take any notice of the fuel range I get 180 miles from a full tank but the range indicates 290 mile maybe they fixed it for 2019 model.
Also you can move the bars across the top yoke and the pegs / gear and brake levers to make the bike more suited to your size.
