Honestly no wonder Luna and Celestia never really attached to any other pony other than each other until twilight came around. They planned on making her a princess nearly since they met.
And yet the oh so wise ruler of the sun chose a girl with a family, made her have friends, only to make her watch them die. She also cultivated another princess, one whos power was love, only for her to lose that love when he eventuality also passes, though she at least got a piece of him that will remain as eternal as she, her own child, at least they have one another, and then I guess the auntie can be comforted by the two as well. But even still all three will have their duties that will keep them all too busy to support one another in a way they all need.
It's is beautiful yet saddening at the same time. Really presents the underlying problem of the whole princesshood for Twilight: she may have achieved the highest possible outcome for herself, but in returne she traded everything she had prior to making that leap to immortality.
I love the little detail on the aging as time goes by, I also love the rings on fluttershy and pinkie pie’s fingers, brought a smile to my face. It’s just barely noticeable, but I noticed when pinkie and apple Jack disappeared, twilights smile is smaller just a little bit smaller than before and it’s almost unnoticeable. Little details like that go a long way to make a truly amazing experience. (Also your human designs are awesome, twilight with the glowing hair and formal attire are something I didn’t know I needed until now.) awesome work overall!
ah, good eye! in the "older" versions, i wanted to keep the designs close to the finale from the show, so it was fun to throw little details in that i could ^^ and im glad u like twi's design, hers is the inspiration for the whole au!

I love how you drew them as they passed away. Applejack and Pinkie going first because they were earth ponies. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy going next because they had more magic as pegasi. Rarity being the last to go as she is a unicorn and had the most of a connection with magic next to Twilight.

The whole point of Twilight going to Ponyville was to make friendships and emotional connections. What bitter irony that she outlives all those relationships as a princess.
Don’t worry, it’s not cannon. One of the creators said at a con that twilight will not outlive her friends which disproves this theory… However I think they were just trying to make some kind of room to create a plot for the sequel, or maybe they just didn’t want a kids show to have such a sad ending.

I think it’s interesting that Rarity was the last one to die. I can imagine they’re going to some ceremony and she’s raving away about what dress would best suit Twilight for the event. It takes her moment, but she notices Twilight’s silence and inquiries on why she seems so closed off. Twilight may look at her with a soft smile on her face, eyes filled with sorrow. “We’re the only ones left.”. Rarity’s eyes widen, then fall to the red velvet fabric in her grasp. She lets out soft hum, letting go and strutting over to her friend. “My dearest Twilight. Though our time is short, our memories will live on. You will carry-on, as a grand ruler of Equestria, guiding and protecting the lives of others. You will teach them the lessons we have gifted each other over all these years. Of kindness, of loyalty, of honesty, of laughter, of generosity, bravery, and the magic of friendship. When I am gone, you will still remain one of my dearest friends. When your time comes, we will meet again. We will all be waiting for you. Our adventures will be begin again.”. She places a gentle touch on Twilight’s shoulder. Suddenly, Twilight rises and pulls her into a tight embrace. She buries the nose into the crook of her neck, breathing in her perfume. She pulls away slightly, studying her dear friends face. The wrinkles of her eyes and hallowed cheeks. The crinkle of her eyebrows. Staring deeply into her sapphire eyes, Twilight says “In all these years of knowing you, your radiance has never faded.”. She places both hands on her dear friends cheeks. “You will always remain in my heart. Forever.”
A small comfort is that she still has the princesses, Cadence, flurry heart and discord. But then I think about how fluttershy was Discord's first friend and I get sad again 😢
@@PramkLunaConsidering that Discord essentially knew both Luna and Celestia before they used the Elements of Harmony to turn him to stone, he'd likely be the longest-lived of everyone/everypony in Equestria. I'm sure that with Discord she could reflect on their memories of Fluttershy
If you pay close attention, Twilight in the first group picture is decidedly happy and has not yet ascended (no flowing hair, no celestial badges) but she is immediately depressed upon ascending into royalty; implying that ascension itself deeply disheartened her after she had time to ponder her new immortal life, long before any of her friends even began to age. Neat animation!

I don't know if anyone else noticed this BUT I really loved how Twilight has medals representing Celestia and Luna (Sun and Moon) and how she's taken on the responsibility of them both, also when she has a bloody hand and there's broken glass there's an image or mural (if that's what they're called) of i think Celestia followed up by Twilight throwing her medal showing how she's upset at her for something, maybe making her immortal and out living her friends. I really love this short animation and i just think it shows what happened very nicely if you pay close attention❤
I feel like another sad part about this is even if her friends were made immortal like she was, they’d have to watch their families and other friends pass away, meaning they’d pretty much be in the same boat she’s in canonically.
looking at the thumbnail i was confused if this was mlp or a new series that came out with the same acronym, and now i'm sobbing violently. this is a beautiful animation, and i love the way you conveyed twilight's former years and having to lose her friends. being immortal while everyone around you is growing older seems terrifying.
Her being the Princess of Friendship is so sad when you think about her being almost immortal. But at least she has Spike, Cadence, Celestia and Luna, and Discord.
discord and cadence will have really hard time when shining armor and Fluttershy leaves too. so much maybe discord will do some crazy chaos magic to make Fluttershy near immortal too
0:40 at that time you see that all 3 photos are ruined indicating that the other princess are probably dead, stopped being princess or are really old I believe and also isn’t her brother dead? He isn’t immortal and won’t live forever and I think the princess of the heart kingdom (forgot name) is dead cuz she didn’t have the flowing hair
Very interested in the concept of Twi over time coming to resent Celestia, someone she used to look up to and revere as almost holy, because of the messed up situation she was forced into by her
Ahhh I love this so much!! I always thought human mlp would be great with a magical girl anime vibe kinda. Well, this is definitely finally scratching that itch of mine. I felt my heart exploding while watching this because I loved it so much. My favorite part of it all is when her gaze shifts to Rarity once she's the only one remaining, but her expression is unchanged because she's trying to keep it all in and be the ruler she's meant to be like "death is part of life, I knew this was coming, I know that she'll leave too, it's okay, everything is okay" and then when she's gone she breaks down because of course she does, her friends were her identity and purpose and inspiration for life. I love Twilight so so much and I love your depiction of her the most. I love the way you've told the story and the way you've animated it and all the feelings. I get so much serotonin watching this and feeling the feels. So freaking well done, I cannot overstate how much I love this.

Really nice work! I'll admit I generally don't care much for humanised designs, but I quite enjoy your designs, especially the princesses in uniforms ones, you do the formal wear very well. Then the topic of the video, I have my own hot opinions about it but I always like to see how people interpret it, and it fits the music so well. I also have to commend the animation itself, extremely well done, it works so nicely with the sharp designs and all the little details are great. The sword is super neat, the blood drop looks great, and the hair, like damn, that hair... Congrats! You can and should be proud of this one.

This made me headcanon the lesser the magic one pony has, the shorter their lifespan is. Applejack and Pinkie Pie died first because they're an Earth Pony. They have the less magic out of the three species, follows along by Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy because Pegasus have a lot more magic compared to Earth Pony, and then, there is the unicorn. Which has the biggest magic among them all-All of course except for Alicorn. That's why Rarity died lasts. Before Twilight was left alone. Also a random scene where Rarity and Twilight talked in their last Tea Party. (Beware cringe writing I've gotten rustic over the month) “You've been colder lately, dear.” Rarity said, dainty hand holding the steaming cup. Eyeing the massive pile of documents towering around the room. “Spike's been worried.” _Me too_ was left unsaid. Twilight knows Rarity long enough to see it through. She diverted her stare at her long and last mortal companion. Rarity's enchanting nature has never rusted out of her despite her growing age, despite the strip of white around her hair, her eyes hold the same shimmer that appears when she donated her investment and condolences to the poorer village at the East-wrecked by war, the one that look at her with compassion once she cradled her tight: crying at Rainbow Dash's funeral. She never fails to look mesmerizing even in her possible last year of living. “Things have been... Busy.” -lonely- Twilight replied, watching the steam pouring out of her cup. She didn't want to worried Rarity with her problem, but the work are the only thing that could required her entire attention and left her unconscious in the night. Rarity only offered her a sad smile. “It's scary, is it?” “The fear of mortality?” Twilight spoke, quietly. “Fear of loneliness.” She specified, not corrected-Twilight would've been right. She does fear mortality, not for her own. But to watched them died and became the last one standing. “Spike's still with me.” “He does, but it does little to eased the emptiness, is it?” Rarity felt it too. The day her sister moved out of their house, Opal was still there, she does keep her company, but she still felt it. The looming empty feeling. The same goes for when Pinkie pie died that night. Everyone had gathered for a sleepover. But it's missing something. The laughter felt different. Twilight didn't say a word. Only watching Rarity take a sip of her cup. “Half-empty nest syndrome.” She murmurs. That was their last interactions, before three days later here Twilight was, standing alone. As Rarity was put to her final rest. She didn't cry. Not like Spike-No words came out either as they buried the casket. It was only when nobody was around did she said something, did Twilight cry. “I missed you.” _All of you._
I don’t know much about Celestia’s lore, but even if she’s similar to Twilight or not, this made me realize that she must’ve experienced something similar too.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a humanized version of these characters before. This is really cool, and I’d love to see more of this! Feels like there’s a whole world of lore and story just underneath the surface. I’m excited to watch more of your stuff!
I like the little detail of Twilight's smile when all her friends are old and little by little it transforms into a sad face when most of her loved ones died.
The unspoken tragedy of Twilight outliving her friends is the biggest reason why I wish she was still present in G5. I know they wanted to make way for the new gen but I think keeping Twilight as a mentor figure or sorts for the new MCs wouldn't have been overdoing it.
Your depiction of Humanised Ponies is so much better than Equestria Girls. You gave them different bodies with personalities. I do hate the fact that basically everyone has same body types in EG.
I really loved this part 0:42 the way it shows Twilight smile slowly descending each time her friends pass away starting from the earth pony, to pegasus and lastly the unicorn and if she wasn't an alicorn she would have pass away together with Rarity
I honestly like to think Twilight was the last princess, aside from Flurry. The idea that she'd outlive all her friends stuck in my mind. It made me wonder if Twilight ever passed on the mantle.
Considering G5, im pretty sure Twilight WAS the last princess/ruler of equestria. But we can't really take G5 into account considering the windigo's didn't return even after the ponies fought and divided.
I think what hurts even more is that Twilight isn't like Celestia in that she has an immortal sibling, and isn't like Cadence where she has an immortal daughter. Yeah, technically they have each other, but they don't all live in the same building, and they both cared for Twilight, so Twilight probably sees them more as mentors than friends. She even sees Luna as a mentor despite little involvement in her life. Flurry would be next, but, again, they don't live in the same building. She lives a whole kingdom over, and, knowing how busy leaders can be, you know they don't meet up often. Twilight is pretty much by herself and no one to help with the pain.
the curse of immortality. you'll outlive all those you care for. heh, who would have a thought. a MLP animation would bring me to tears. the style is so good! the grey, dulled tone, is not what you'd expect from an MLP animation, but it works perfectly. also the hair, AMAZING, the smoothness of the hair flowing is amazing. Also, the eyes, so emotive. also, love the clothing. (I like military esk styled clothing). not typical for a princess (normally dresses and stuff) which makes it unique. reminds me of a character I have. he was immortal, and the others warned not to grow attached to mortals. but he wanted to learn about them, to understand them. he just assumed it was older people thinking they knew better. so, he ignored these warnings, and went down to live with mortals. he made so many friends... he loved them all... they built a home for their own. They made paradise. He had the time of his life. never in the thousands of years he's lived, had he felt so alive. he lived not as a god, but as a person, surrounded by people who loved him for him. but, he outlived them all. after all, he was immortal. one by one, his friends faded. so, now, there he sat. alone. in his gleaming palace, on a throne of gleaming gems, surrounded by the riches of his immortal life. but it didn't feel like home. without his friends, his... family. the universe felt lifeless and empty. and so did he.
That last scene of her looking back with her sword drawn, then disappearing leaving her crown behind makes me think she is now going to hunt down Celestia and seek some sort of revenge or justice for essentially forcing immortality on her. Or maybe she rejects the position of princess and just leaves. Perhaps to live in solitude, to seek an end to her life, or maybe to find a way to bring her friends back. I'd definitely love to see more of this story unfold. I'm subbing and gonna keep an eye out for more!

I love that the only colors that appear besides black and white are the toned down yellow and purple, which is taking the focus since its twilight's color and she's now alone so the other 5 colors are completely faded out. Great video! im still mesmerized at how you could portray Twilight's loneliness so well! (Edit: Technically its pink but nonetheless its still beautiful)
Super off topic, but I never realized this as a kid how symbolic their names were to their personalities/ physical traits and abilities. Pinkypie: sweet personality (like pie) Rarity: a “rare gem” as in the kind of person you don’t come across to often (in a good way) Fluttershy: pretty self explanatory but she’s very shy Rainbow-dash: also self explanatory, very fast flyer Applejack: farmer+jacked with muscle Twilight-sparkle: this is the only one I had trouble with but her name could be foreshadowing of her as Celestia and Luna’s heir since all their names associate with astronomy and the sky (Celestia=Celestial meaning “having to do with outer space or astronomy) (Luna is the Spanish word for moon) (Twilight= the period or the light from the sky between full night and sunrise or between sunset and full night, and Sparkle could refer to a sparkling star, even more specifically the North Star since it’s the brightest star in the sky and she’s super smart as well as it’s used to point the way, and leaders are also supposed to point the way)

0:34 I just peeped this, but is the blood dripping caused from Twilight punching a hole in Celestia’s face in the glass window? If so, it’s mood and definitely correlates with Twilights resentment towards being the new ruler 😭 Celestia put all that pressure on her just to rule over Equestria BY HERSELF and not even warn her ahead of time. Like sure she prepared her but she literally just gave her the powers and said “lol rule my country!1” I honestly don’t blame Twilight for leaving in the end, lol. Although I’d like to believe Cadence was there with her for a short moment but who knows. This was beautiful made tho bro and the humanized versions of the ponies is literally spot on 👏🏽❤️ (it’s also abt time someone explored how much of a burden twilight’s position rlly is, my god 💀)

I'm sorry to remind you, but Cadence is the princess of the crystal heart. All of the princesses do not live long, they literally give themselves for the right to ascend the throne, their lives. They give their lives for various reasons, but I think Cadence will not live long either, even considering that she was saved once. I love the theme that the crystal heart consists of fragments of the souls of past princesses and over time it gets bigger, and then it decreases, because the fragments of the soul break completely. To support him, they always need a new ruler and a new villain. Literally, harmony, from dead bodies. The concept that all the crystals in the Kingdom consist of the bodies of ponies that once lived there is the best. Even the daughter of Cadence, with all her strength, will not live long, this is the life cycle of the Crystal Kingdom. I think Sparkle would have caught how at least four princesses of the Crystal Kingdom change. Oh no, I'm only making things worse with my concept!
I don't know if it's a shared feeling or not, but I've felt sad since the moment Twilight became a princess. I knew why Celestia and Luna didn't have friends. I feel like my best friend has been wronged a lot. 😢I know that the story is not sad, but the followers felt itEven if they don't draw itPrincess Celestia made a mistake. She wanted an heir, but she didn't care about the consequences and even Attwilight's feelings. I think the years were hard on Celestia and Luna, which made her only care about her responsibility and her sister.
i think it's a very realistic reaction for celestia, and since i dont mind a bit of tragedy, i like the direction. immortality seems nice on the outside, but sometimes it's fun to explore the sad parts of it too ^^
i don't know anything about mlp besides a cursory surface level knowledge from pop culture. BUT!! this meme is amazing!! the dour setting, the constant waviness of twilight's hair, the detailed backgrounds -- it's so good!! the frame that makes me think the most is the one where it's only her and rarity, and she's no longer lookin forward but at rarity. I'm guessing she's the only one around because she's a unicorn? Do unicorns have longer lifespans than pegasi, who have longer lifespans than horses? either, she's the only one left. I think that at this point rarity would be the only one twilight really confided in -- they're the kind of friends who remain close even through adulthood, but maybe rarity is better at connecting since she's mortal and twilight isn't, which leads the latter to become more isolated, which is compounded by people no longer seeing her as just a regular person but some sort of deity (or at the very least a very powerful ruler.) She might become more paranoid, or might start distancing herself for rarity's inevitable death. After it happens, she finds no more purpose in being ruler the part where the music says "I guess I thought that it was gonna be fun" while she faces the throne with her sword out is also so impactful. Because, yeah, wouldn't anyone want to be queen? Being magically powerful, having your friends around you as you make the world better -- it sounds nice. But everything's gray now. It's not like it used to be, and she's stayed stagnant all this time, or at least her growth is now unacknowledged. tldr i love this

i think that was unintentional, but thats a cool connection! mainly, i felt the princesses could have a more “prince charming” vibe, since that type of formalwear is a lot more functional in a fight/adventure than poofy dresses haha
Wow, even if this vid was just one minute, it had many cool details. Like, when Twilights element switched to Twilights crown, and I also like to think that Twilight was once happy to put on her crown and save equestria with her friends but now she is forced to wear her crown. I also liked how you used muted and grey tones to represent twilights anger and sadness. The first drone of the video shows the mane six, they aren’t old nor is twilights hair floating, probably showing the days that they were young. But gradually, they pass, leaving twilight angered and alone. I love the amount of detail you put into this vid, I just live when people explore the lore of where twilight must live alone.

I would like to add that it wasnt Celestia who gave Twilight immortality, since it was always her destiny (in Celestia's Ballad the magic never comes from Celestia as her horn is never activated with magic aura, but rather directly behind Twilight). She did crown Twilight and place all responsibilities on her however. I would say Twilight's immortality was a consequence of her chasing ambition.

Omg. I’ve watched this about a hundred times now, this is AMAZING! All the little details are just genius. The limited colors give it such a solemn vibe and don’t get me STARTED on the part when all of twilights friends start disappearing one by one. The song fits it really well, and I like the detail of when it says “how did I get here” and twilight throws celestia’s badge.

I think were all for getting about spike here even though he will still die he has a long life span consider the fact that he's a dragon I'm pretty sure if i do the calculation correctly he'll live up over 500 years yes he'll die but not as fast
Immortality sounds good in paper but when you get it you realize how much time can be a burden. We beg for more when we don't have enough and waste it when we do but to have too much... How will it affect her ? Will she remember them to the end or eventually forget about their faces, the time spent together, the leçons learned ? Will she remain the same or slowly fade into a cold unfeeling god ?
I REALLY like the designs in this. It’s very well done- the symbolism with the medals is really well done and you can really feel twilights frustration as the animation goes on. Twilight is so special as a character to me and I love to see pony content in 2023

ahhhh wow thank u so much for the detailed comment! please pretend i am answering this as i am shaken back and forth ^^ im glad that i could help drag u back to mlp! actually, the same thing happened to me a year ago suddenly due to other writers and artists, so it is fitting for me to carry on the cycle :P this particular animation was a spontaneous project fueled a little bit by personal angst, and im very happy to know that it can resonate with u in a way that conveys the same feeling ^^ (though, even reducing the framerate compared to villain, it was a lot of effort to make the animation smooth OTL). i will happily pay for the therapy, i think i should make an appointment too xd and, wow!! reading my magnum opus in 2 hours, thats amazing,,,, im so happy you gave it a try, it’s the creation im most proud of so far. even if i cant surpass it again easily, i want to do my best to create more things to give the similar feeling of, “wow, i want to read this all in one go!”, so it makes me very happy to know you enjoyed the story. thank you so much for reading it!

To be honest I don't like the fact Celestia and Luna made Twilight princess with out asking her first. Why send her to ponyville to make friends when she has to watch them die while she lives on without them? It's cruel what they did to her.
@@evelili I know that Celestia loves Twilight it's to the point Celestia sees her as a daughter but what she did wasn't ok in anyway because she's putting someone she loves in pain since Twilight isn't just going to lose her friends but also her brother and parents. I feel sorry for Cadence and her daughter. Immortality can be a blessing but also a curse depending who it is and who you are.
This song fits perfectly with the scenario. " I can't help the fact i like to be alone, it might sound kinda sad but thats just what i seem to know" It just tells us that twilight learns not to get close to anypony she might lose again. Which also explains why we didn't see her pursue Flash Sentry, knowing she would outlive him and lead to another heartbreak. " I tend to handle things usually by myself" She is forced to rule alone, regardless of how Celestia told her that the mane 6 would rule together. "How did i get here? I need to know" This isn't that clear but evelili did an AMAZING job of interpreting it. Obviously Twilight is regretting ever agreeing to becoming a ruler and wants to make different choices so as that she could stay with her friends. "I guess i maybe had a couple expectations" Twilight really believed that they would rule together. She didn't think of what the future would bring, as each and every one of her friends succumbed to fate. " I guess i thought that prom was gonna be fun" Obviously she thought being a princess would be different. As she would have her friends by her side. SO basically the creator did an AMAZING OUTSTANDING JOB. Like honestly this was really done well. Kudos to you. This is and always will be one of my favorites.

And yet the oh so wise ruler of the sun chose a girl with a family, made her have friends, only to make her watch them die. She also cultivated another princess, one whos power was love, only for her to lose that love when he eventuality also passes, though she at least got a piece of him that will remain as eternal as she, her own child, at least they have one another, and then I guess the auntie can be comforted by the two as well. But even still all three will have their duties that will keep them all too busy to support one another in a way they all need.

It's is beautiful yet saddening at the same time.
Really presents the underlying problem of the whole princesshood for Twilight: she may have achieved the highest possible outcome for herself, but in returne she traded everything she had prior to making that leap to immortality.
I love the little detail on the aging as time goes by, I also love the rings on fluttershy and pinkie pie’s fingers, brought a smile to my face. It’s just barely noticeable, but I noticed when pinkie and apple Jack disappeared, twilights smile is smaller just a little bit smaller than before and it’s almost unnoticeable. Little details like that go a long way to make a truly amazing experience. (Also your human designs are awesome, twilight with the glowing hair and formal attire are something I didn’t know I needed until now.) awesome work overall!

I love how you drew them as they passed away. Applejack and Pinkie going first because they were earth ponies. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy going next because they had more magic as pegasi. Rarity being the last to go as she is a unicorn and had the most of a connection with magic next to Twilight.

The whole point of Twilight going to Ponyville was to make friendships and emotional connections. What bitter irony that she outlives all those relationships as a princess.
Don’t worry, it’s not cannon. One of the creators said at a con that twilight will not outlive her friends which disproves this theory… However I think they were just trying to make some kind of room to create a plot for the sequel, or maybe they just didn’t want a kids show to have such a sad ending.
And Cadence, the Princess of Love, will outlive Shining Armor.

I think it’s interesting that Rarity was the last one to die.
I can imagine they’re going to some ceremony and she’s raving away about what dress would best suit Twilight for the event. It takes her moment, but she notices Twilight’s silence and inquiries on why she seems so closed off.
Twilight may look at her with a soft smile on her face, eyes filled with sorrow. “We’re the only ones left.”. Rarity’s eyes widen, then fall to the red velvet fabric in her grasp. She lets out soft hum, letting go and strutting over to her friend.
“My dearest Twilight. Though our time is short, our memories will live on. You will carry-on, as a grand ruler of Equestria, guiding and protecting the lives of others. You will teach them the lessons we have gifted each other over all these years. Of kindness, of loyalty, of honesty, of laughter, of generosity, bravery, and the magic of friendship.
When I am gone, you will still remain one of my dearest friends. When your time comes, we will meet again. We will all be waiting for you. Our adventures will be begin again.”.
She places a gentle touch on Twilight’s shoulder. Suddenly, Twilight rises and pulls her into a tight embrace. She buries the nose into the crook of her neck, breathing in her perfume. She pulls away slightly, studying her dear friends face. The wrinkles of her eyes and hallowed cheeks. The crinkle of her eyebrows. @@PramkLunaConsidering that Discord essentially knew both Luna and Celestia before they used the Elements of Harmony to turn him to stone, he'd likely be the longest-lived of everyone/everypony in Equestria. I'm sure that with Discord she could reflect on their memories of Fluttershy

If you pay close attention, Twilight in the first group picture is decidedly happy and has not yet ascended (no flowing hair, no celestial badges) but she is immediately depressed upon ascending into royalty; implying that ascension itself deeply disheartened her after she had time to ponder her new immortal life, long before any of her friends even began to age.

I don't know if anyone else noticed this BUT I really loved how Twilight has medals representing Celestia and Luna (Sun and Moon) and how she's taken on the responsibility of them both, also when she has a bloody hand and there's broken glass there's an image or mural (if that's what they're called) of i think Celestia followed up by Twilight throwing her medal showing how she's upset at her for something, maybe making her immortal and out living her friends.
I really love this short animation and i just think it shows what happened very nicely if you pay close attention❤

discord and cadence will have really hard time when shining armor and Fluttershy leaves too. so much maybe discord will do some crazy chaos magic to make Fluttershy near immortal too

Ahhh I love this so much!! I always thought human mlp would be great with a magical girl anime vibe kinda. Well, this is definitely finally scratching that itch of mine. I felt my heart exploding while watching this because I loved it so much. My favorite part of it all is when her gaze shifts to Rarity once she's the only one remaining, but her expression is unchanged because she's trying to keep it all in and be the ruler she's meant to be like "death is part of life, I knew this was coming, I know that she'll leave too, it's okay, everything is okay" and then when she's gone she breaks down because of course she does, her friends were her identity and purpose and inspiration for life. I love Twilight so so much and I love your depiction of her the most. I love the way you've told the story and the way you've animated it and all the feelings. I get so much serotonin watching this and feeling the feels. So freaking well done, I cannot overstate how much I love this.

I'll admit I generally don't care much for humanised designs, but I quite enjoy your designs, especially the princesses in uniforms ones, you do the formal wear very well. Then the topic of the video, I have my own hot opinions about it but I always like to see how people interpret it, and it fits the music so well.
I also have to commend the animation itself, extremely well done, it works so nicely with the sharp designs and all the little details are great. The sword is super neat, the blood drop looks great, and the hair, like damn, that hair...

This made me headcanon the lesser the magic one pony has, the shorter their lifespan is. Applejack and Pinkie Pie died first because they're an Earth Pony. They have the less magic out of the three species, follows along by Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy because Pegasus have a lot more magic compared to Earth Pony, and then, there is the unicorn. Which has the biggest magic among them all-All of course except for Alicorn. That's why Rarity died lasts. Before Twilight was left alone.
Also a random scene where Rarity and Twilight talked in their last Tea Party. (Beware cringe writing I've gotten rustic over the month)
“You've been colder lately, dear.” Rarity said, dainty hand holding the steaming cup. Eyeing the massive pile of documents towering around the room. “Spike's been worried.” _Me too_ was left unsaid. Twilight knows Rarity long enough to see it through.
She diverted her stare at her long and last mortal companion. Rarity's enchanting nature has never rusted out of her despite her growing age, despite the strip of white around her hair, her eyes hold the same shimmer that appears when she donated her investment and condolences to the poorer village at the East-wrecked by war, the one that look at her with compassion once she cradled her tight: crying at Rainbow Dash's funeral. She never fails to look mesmerizing even in her possible last year of living.
“Things have been... Busy.” -lonely- Twilight replied, watching the steam pouring out of her cup. She didn't want to worried Rarity with her problem, but the work are the only thing that could required her entire attention and left her unconscious in the night.
Rarity only offered her a sad smile. “It's scary, is it?”
“The fear of mortality?” Twilight spoke, quietly.
“Fear of loneliness.” She specified, not corrected-Twilight would've been right. She does fear mortality, not for her own. But to watched them died and became the last one standing.
“Spike's still with me.”
“He does, but it does little to eased the emptiness, is it?” Rarity felt it too. The day her sister moved out of their house, Opal was still there, she does keep her company, but she still felt it. The looming empty feeling.
The same goes for when Pinkie pie died that night. Everyone had gathered for a sleepover. But it's missing something. The laughter felt different.
Twilight didn't say a word. Only watching Rarity take a sip of her cup. “Half-empty nest syndrome.” She murmurs.
That was their last interactions, before three days later here Twilight was, standing alone. As Rarity was put to her final rest. She didn't cry. Not like Spike-No words came out either as they buried the casket. It was only when nobody was around did she said something, did Twilight cry.
“I missed you.” _All of you._

I don’t know much about Celestia’s lore, but even if she’s similar to Twilight or not, this made me realize that she must’ve experienced something similar too.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a humanized version of these characters before. This is really cool, and I’d love to see more of this! Feels like there’s a whole world of lore and story just underneath the surface. I’m excited to watch more of your stuff!

The unspoken tragedy of Twilight outliving her friends is the biggest reason why I wish she was still present in G5. I know they wanted to make way for the new gen but I think keeping Twilight as a mentor figure or sorts for the new MCs wouldn't have been overdoing it.

I really loved this part 0:42 the way it shows Twilight smile slowly descending each time her friends pass away starting from the earth pony, to pegasus and lastly the unicorn and if she wasn't an alicorn she would have pass away together with Rarity
I honestly like to think Twilight was the last princess, aside from Flurry. The idea that she'd outlive all her friends stuck in my mind. It made me wonder if Twilight ever passed on the mantle.
Knowing Twilight, she'd probably just end up bearing it so nobody else will ever have to again.
Considering G5, im pretty sure Twilight WAS the last princess/ruler of equestria. But we can't really take G5 into account considering the windigo's didn't return even after the ponies fought and divided.

I think what hurts even more is that Twilight isn't like Celestia in that she has an immortal sibling, and isn't like Cadence where she has an immortal daughter.
Yeah, technically they have each other, but they don't all live in the same building, and they both cared for Twilight, so Twilight probably sees them more as mentors than friends. She even sees Luna as a mentor despite little involvement in her life.
Flurry would be next, but, again, they don't live in the same building. She lives a whole kingdom over, and, knowing how busy leaders can be, you know they don't meet up often.
Twilight is pretty much by herself and no one to help with the pain.
the curse of immortality. you'll outlive all those you care for. heh, who would have a thought. a MLP animation would bring me to tears. the style is so good! the grey, dulled tone, is not what you'd expect from an MLP animation, but it works perfectly. also the hair, AMAZING, the smoothness of the hair flowing is amazing. Also, the eyes, so emotive.
also, love the clothing. (I like military esk styled clothing). not typical for a princess (normally dresses and stuff) which makes it unique.
reminds me of a character I have. he was immortal, and the others warned not to grow attached to mortals. but he wanted to learn about them, to understand them. he just assumed it was older people thinking they knew better.
so, he ignored these warnings, and went down to live with mortals. he made so many friends... he loved them all... they built a home for their own. They made paradise. He had the time of his life. never in the thousands of years he's lived, had he felt so alive. he lived not as a god, but as a person, surrounded by people who loved him for him.
but, he outlived them all. after all, he was immortal. one by one, his friends faded.
so, now, there he sat. alone. in his gleaming palace, on a throne of gleaming gems, surrounded by the riches of his immortal life. but it didn't feel like home. without his friends, his... family. the universe felt lifeless and empty. and so did he.
oh, thats an interesting chara! i can defo see the similarities ^^
That last scene of her looking back with her sword drawn, then disappearing leaving her crown behind makes me think she is now going to hunt down Celestia and seek some sort of revenge or justice for essentially forcing immortality on her. Or maybe she rejects the position of princess and just leaves. Perhaps to live in solitude, to seek an end to her life, or maybe to find a way to bring her friends back.
I'd definitely love to see more of this story unfold. I'm subbing and gonna keep an eye out for more!

Honestly, the end of mlp always had me wondering about this, not to mention Shining Armour and Cadence. I just have to say, though, I NEED THAT SWORD 😭.
ahh, shining and cadance breaks my heart thinking about it ;-; (and, actually, i 3d modeled the sword to assist with perspective, so perhaps one day i will print it to join my sword collection lol)
I love that the only colors that appear besides black and white are the toned down yellow and purple, which is taking the focus since its twilight's color and she's now alone so the other 5 colors are completely faded out. Great video! im still mesmerized at how you could portray Twilight's loneliness so well! (Edit: Technically its pink but nonetheless its still beautiful)

Super off topic, but I never realized this as a kid how symbolic their names were to their personalities/ physical traits and abilities.
Pinkypie: sweet personality (like pie)
Rarity: a “rare gem” as in the kind of person you don’t come across to often (in a good way)
Fluttershy: pretty self explanatory but she’s very shy
Rainbow-dash: also self explanatory, very fast flyer
Applejack: farmer+jacked with muscle
Twilight-sparkle: this is the only one I had trouble with but her name could be foreshadowing of her as Celestia and Luna’s heir since all their names associate with astronomy and the sky (Celestia=Celestial meaning “having to do with outer space or astronomy) (Luna is the Spanish word for moon) (Twilight= the period or the light from the sky between full night and sunrise or between sunset and full night, and Sparkle could refer to a sparkling star, even more specifically the North Star since it’s the brightest star in the sky and she’s super smart as well as it’s used to point the way, and leaders are also supposed to point the way)
Important characters like Starlight and Starswirl the bearded also have names relating to astronomy
I love how even when her friends are still alive, (but aging) she is unhappy. She is smart and knows that she will be all alone soon enough.
woaaaaah! Im absolutely eating this up. This concept of twi outlining them all never actually crossed my mind.. The angst, the destaurated color with the pop of pink, the character designs.. everything just flows so nicely. 😮

0:34 I just peeped this, but is the blood dripping caused from Twilight punching a hole in Celestia’s face in the glass window? If so, it’s mood and definitely correlates with Twilights resentment towards being the new ruler 😭
Celestia put all that pressure on her just to rule over Equestria BY HERSELF and not even warn her ahead of time. Like sure she prepared her but she literally just gave her the powers and said “lol rule my country!1” I honestly don’t blame Twilight for leaving in the end, lol. Although I’d like to believe Cadence was there with her for a short moment but who knows.
This was beautiful made tho bro and the humanized versions of the ponies is literally spot on 👏🏽❤️ (it’s also abt time someone explored how much of a burden twilight’s position rlly is, my god 💀)

I'm sorry to remind you, but Cadence is the princess of the crystal heart. All of the princesses do not live long, they literally give themselves for the right to ascend the throne, their lives. They give their lives for various reasons, but I think Cadence will not live long either, even considering that she was saved once. I love the theme that the crystal heart consists of fragments of the souls of past princesses and over time it gets bigger, and then it decreases, because the fragments of the soul break completely. To support him, they always need a new ruler and a new villain. Literally, harmony, from dead bodies. The concept that all the crystals in the Kingdom consist of the bodies of ponies that once lived there is the best. Even the daughter of Cadence, with all her strength, will not live long, this is the life cycle of the Crystal Kingdom. I think Sparkle would have caught how at least four princesses of the Crystal Kingdom change. Oh no, I'm only making things worse with my concept!

I don't know if it's a shared feeling or not, but I've felt sad since the moment Twilight became a princess. I knew why Celestia and Luna didn't have friends. I feel like my best friend has been wronged a lot. 😢I know that the story is not sad, but the followers felt itEven if they don't draw itPrincess Celestia made a mistake. She wanted an heir, but she didn't care about the consequences and even Attwilight's feelings. I think the years were hard on Celestia and Luna, which made her only care about her responsibility and her sister.
i think it's a very realistic reaction for celestia, and since i dont mind a bit of tragedy, i like the direction. immortality seems nice on the outside, but sometimes it's fun to explore the sad parts of it too ^^

i don't know anything about mlp besides a cursory surface level knowledge from pop culture. BUT!! this meme is amazing!! the dour setting, the constant waviness of twilight's hair, the detailed backgrounds -- it's so good!! the frame that makes me think the most is the one where it's only her and rarity, and she's no longer lookin forward but at rarity. I'm guessing she's the only one around because she's a unicorn? Do unicorns have longer lifespans than pegasi, who have longer lifespans than horses? either, she's the only one left.
I think that at this point rarity would be the only one twilight really confided in -- they're the kind of friends who remain close even through adulthood, but maybe rarity is better at connecting since she's mortal and twilight isn't, which leads the latter to become more isolated, which is compounded by people no longer seeing her as just a regular person but some sort of deity (or at the very least a very powerful ruler.) She might become more paranoid, or might start distancing herself for rarity's inevitable death. After it happens, she finds no more purpose in being ruler
the part where the music says "I guess I thought that it was gonna be fun" while she faces the throne with her sword out is also so impactful. Because, yeah, wouldn't anyone want to be queen? Being magically powerful, having your friends around you as you make the world better -- it sounds nice. But everything's gray now. It's not like it used to be, and she's stayed stagnant all this time, or at least her growth is now unacknowledged.

i think that was unintentional, but thats a cool connection! mainly, i felt the princesses could have a more “prince charming” vibe, since that type of formalwear is a lot more functional in a fight/adventure than poofy dresses haha

The princess of friendship have no friends, this is heartbroken
Wow, even if this vid was just one minute, it had many cool details. Like, when Twilights element switched to Twilights crown, and I also like to think that Twilight was once happy to put on her crown and save equestria with her friends but now she is forced to wear her crown. I also liked how you used muted and grey tones to represent twilights anger and sadness. The first drone of the video shows the mane six, they aren’t old nor is twilights hair floating, probably showing the days that they were young. But gradually, they pass, leaving twilight angered and alone. I love the amount of detail you put into this vid, I just live when people explore the lore of where twilight must live alone.
wowza, you have great eyes! you caught on a lot what i was going for, im impressed. i think twi's situation at the end of the show is really interesting, and has a lot of potential to explore different depths of her character, so im glad that you could enjoy what i did in this animation ^^

I would like to add that it wasnt Celestia who gave Twilight immortality, since it was always her destiny (in Celestia's Ballad the magic never comes from Celestia as her horn is never activated with magic aura, but rather directly behind Twilight). She did crown Twilight and place all responsibilities on her however.
I would say Twilight's immortality was a consequence of her chasing ambition.

Omg. I’ve watched this about a hundred times now, this is AMAZING! All the little details are just genius.
The limited colors give it such a solemn vibe and don’t get me STARTED on the part when all of twilights friends start disappearing one by one.
The song fits it really well, and I like the detail of when it says “how did I get here” and twilight throws celestia’s badge.

I think were all for getting about spike here even though he will still die he has a long life span consider the fact that he's a dragon I'm pretty sure if i do the calculation correctly he'll live up over 500 years yes he'll die but not as fast
So twilight is truly alone but I think twilight dies in g5 or at least I’m hoping so she doesn’t suffer any longer
Immortality sounds good in paper but when you get it you realize how much time can be a burden. We beg for more when we don't have enough and waste it when we do but to have too much... How will it affect her ? Will she remember them to the end or eventually forget about their faces, the time spent together, the leçons learned ? Will she remain the same or slowly fade into a cold unfeeling god ?
I REALLY like the designs in this. It’s very well done- the symbolism with the medals is really well done and you can really feel twilights frustration as the animation goes on. Twilight is so special as a character to me and I love to see pony content in 2023

I saw this two days ago and I don't usually comment on things, but I just wanted to say that you have got me HOOKED on your work. First of all, it's been a while since I've seen anything MLP related, and you have grabbed me by the neck and dragged me back into this pit kicking and screaming.
Second, the animation is so SMOOOOOTH. I LOVE TWILIGHT'S HAIR. I LOVE THE MILITARY OUTFIT. I LOVE ALL THE OUTFITS. I LOVE THE GLITCHY EFFECTS. I LOVE THE SWORD. I LOVE SEEING TWILIGHT'S REFLECTION IN THE SWORD. I LOVE ALL HER LITTLE GLARES. I LOVE THE MINIMAL COLORS COLOR SCHEME THINGY. I LOVE THE DISEMBODIED HANDS CLAPPING. I LOVE THE LITTLE SLUMP OF TWILIGHT'S SHOULDERS AFTER EVERYONE IS GONE (Actually that was pretty sad you're paying for my therapy. But I still love it in a it hurts so good way.)
Third, THE ANGSTTTTTT UGHHHH. I've always wondered how Twilight would handle being immortal and outliving and I love how you've captured that here. I would love to see more of this AU!!!
Fourth, after watching your Villains animatic I ended up binge reading The Twilight Effect in two hours instead of studying for my programming exam that morning lol. But it was sooooooooo goooooood. Anyways, I'm done aggressively fangirling, but I'm definitely sticking around for your work.

im glad that i could help drag u back to mlp! actually, the same thing happened to me a year ago suddenly due to other writers and artists, so it is fitting for me to carry on the cycle :P this particular animation was a spontaneous project fueled a little bit by personal angst, and im very happy to know that it can resonate with u in a way that conveys the same feeling ^^ (though, even reducing the framerate compared to villain, it was a lot of effort to make the animation smooth OTL). i will happily pay for the therapy, i think i should make an appointment too xd

Why send her to ponyville to make friends when she has to watch them die while she lives on without them? It's cruel what they did to her.

I feel sorry for Cadence and her daughter. Immortality can be a blessing but also a curse depending who it is and who you are.

This isn't that clear but evelili did an AMAZING job of interpreting it. Obviously Twilight is regretting ever agreeing to becoming a ruler and wants to make different choices so as that she could stay with her friends.

Twilight really believed that they would rule together. She didn't think of what the future would bring, as each and every one of her friends succumbed to fate.

Obviously she thought being a princess would be different. As she would have her friends by her side.
