- Welcome to another episode of Scrap Mechanic Multiplayer Monday! Today we are recreating the sport of Dutch Canal Jumping, also called Fierljeppen, but we are using vehicles instead! The goal is to drive at the pole, grab onto it, and climb it while it swings across a canal, landing as far from your starting point as possible.

Man scrapman, I just really wanted to say that you're really coming into your own here.. These competitions are super interesting, all of your creations of old devices is just so interesting, you got the history, you got the history, you got the engineering, and then you got the actual development of your and our building skills by building these things and overcoming the challenges that come along with them, your channel is really turning into something great and I just wanted to say that.

I watched scrapman for a while. The multiplayer Monday idea is just really good and fun to watch. Making it only come on mondays was a really good idea because if it happened everyday it would ruin the excitement and enjoyment of watching it. It just feels more special.
I would just like to mention on how close scrapman is to 700k subs.
Ah yes such a inspiring quote ”Sometimes you find a lake, and you gotta jump it.” I shall take this quote to heart and apply it to my everyday life thank you Scrapman this quote has really open my eyes to the world of jumping lakes.

You should re-create the Lun Class Spasatel Ekranoplans, It was a plane that could fly and ride on water. In 1987 it was put into service, it was essentially a floating version of today's AC130 Gunship.

That is not a plane. It is harnessing the ground effect to hover, which makes it impossible to build functionally in any game. Not sure what would be the point of doing it, since it would be just a slightly different looking plane without any of the things that make it functionally distinct from a plane.
@@aguywhodoesstuff1116 It isn't really classified as anything that it looks like, its in the category of a maritime ship which is basically for cargo and people. I read more into it and the max speed is 550 kilometers per hour (340 mph) and it hovers above water at 13 ft. It was also armed with two 23mm Pl-23 cannons and six antiship missile launchers.

Ekranoplans are their own type of vehicle and it is not a floating version of an AC130. Ekranoplans cannot provide long duration overwatch direct fire support for ground forces. That's the AC130's role. The Ekranoplan has material and personnel transport capability. The AC130 does not, but the C130 Hercules (the transport the AC130 was based off of) does. So It's definitely not a floating AC130. If anything, it's a high speed landing craft, but it's definitely not a plane even though it's shaped like it.
As for building it, I don't think any of the games he's playing has accurate ground effects. I know the youtuber Frantic tried making one in the game Stormworks, but because that game doesn't have accurate ground effects or even glide mechanics, it was a bit janky. Something like an ekranoplan needs specific physics sims working and most vehicle building games leaves them out just because they're annoying/make landing difficult. But when all is said and done, the best he can do in Scrap Mechanic is build a hovering ekranoplan, which really wouldn't be accurate, or go to another game and try it there.
You should revisit multiplayer Monday ideas that you did long ago to see how you have changed and improved over time
Fierlepjen is Frisian (not Dutch, but only spoken in the Netherlands) for "far leaping". And is only really played in 'Friesland' a profince in the Netherlands, that's where my parents live
The sport came from farmers crossing small canals with a stick they brought with them. Like run with the stick in hand, and then when jumping sticking the the stick in the bottom of the canal... I assume these farmers trurned it into a competition, and then it became a sport, and they perstuck bigger sticks on hinges in the canal because you can get more impressive distances like that

@@tomatoe308 Well yeah, you don't always have to jump the lake. Sometimes you can just walk around it or swim through it. But sometimes, sometimes you gotta jump it. And so you do, for that is what needs to be done.

I really like the dynamics of how these 4 people come together.
Kan is always the simplistic guy who designs things as simple as possible and makes it look good on paper, while Scrapman is that guy who over-engineers stuff just to make sure everything works has he intended. Moonbo is somewhere in between the two, and Kosmo is the realist who borrows design concepts from real life lol.

I'd love to see you guys to pole jump with creations, it'd be very hard to build the machine but it would be very satisfying if it worked.
I don't know anything about Finnish baseball, but there's always the Finnish tradition of Wife Carrying.
Could see who can create a vehicle that can pick up an object, possibly with free bearing limbs so it can ragdoll a bit, and go through an obstacle course.

I would love to see you guys attempt to build some boats in scrap mechanic. Could try something similar to the spudling gun wall-rider challenge, with one gunner trying to sink boats with explosives (to minimize on-boat misfires), or if you're feeling lucky, full on battleship between your guy's constructed boats. I think it would be interesting to see thruster propelled explosives, or trebuchet-esque explosive launchers, or even floating torpedoes. The last boat standing (floating?) wins!
As a Dutchman, i must say: The pronounciation AND execution of Fierljeppen was perfect! 😁👍

Scrapman, I got an idea. Make a beyblade and surround it with magnets facing outwards and use thrusters to rotate it. Use a swivel to cancel out the beys rotation and place another swivel on top of it and place some thrusters to use for changing directions (in instruments of destruction)

Fierljeppen is from Friesland (a province from the Netherlands), but most dutch people actually have trouble understanding the people from Friesland because they have a very different accent so I don’t know if I would call it a dutch sport (I’m personally dutch and had never heard of it as a word for example) but I did know about the sport. Nice vid still though cool idea for scrap mechanic xD

Multiplayer Monday idea: Petanque
Launch balls at a smaller target ball and the closest one wins. It is allowed to knock other balls away.
Scrapman should make a mug with that quote
Multiplayer Monday idea the shopping delivery challenge
You must build vans that hold 16 "crates" of shopping the crates must be contained within a box with either a door or shutter
You must then deliver the 16 crates to 8 different houses (some houses will have 2 or 3 crates required)
Getting the crates out of the van can either be manual lift pickup or fired out of the side of the van aslong as the crates end up within a set distance of the front door
You get points for every crates delivered and and an extra point for each house with the correct number of crates
And extra points for 1st and 2nd to the finish line
Most points win
Inspired by my job as a tesco delivery driver and wanting to have a tray cannon to fire the shopping at customers houses when running late
Moonbow and kAN: make ordinary lifters, and fly away for several blocks
SM: makes a reverse railgun, and launches itself into space

We need a good, old fashioned, medieval joust. Have a predetermined "lance" a pole with an explosive on the end and a block limit for the vehicles, then, drive head on at each other and after the collision, the vehicle with the most blocks remaining, or the most functionality wins.
Maybe do best out of three since one round for each pairing may be a pretty short video.

You sould try building the geman super land ship p1000 Ratte (rat-ta). It would of been a super landship but germany didn't have time or the resources to build it but it was said that they did start it in Africa but that was never proven. So if you can build that I will be very impressed, and you wiĺl need to build it in scrap mechanic.
Details you must have:
-build it ao it's accurate.
-top speed of 40km/h.
-explosive proof (to an extent).
-Everything functional.
-full interior.
-two motorcycles.
And most importantly....
-MAKE IT SIZE ACCURATE!!!

Maybe do a video where you guys are on teams and each of you makes a vehicle with eachother, then you compete seeing which team can escape the other while they try to stop your train by gripping onto it and slowing it down or getting in front and stopping it. I feel it would make for an interesting episode
Do a challenge where you have to carve out explosives with an automatic spud launcher. You must get rid of all cardboard to win the round. Stencils will get tougher as the game progresses. If it is too easy then, you have 5 or 3 minutes to finish.

I have actually heard of this sport. It originally wasn't a sport and more of a way of jumping canals to get to work faster.

It's not per se Dutch, it's a cultural thing in a province(Friesland) in the Netherlands that has its own language. It's pretty populair in that region. I know because I live there :)

day 174 or 175 of asking scrapman to start a Survival series amphibious tank/basically any transportation and floating base/barge (or under water.) But you need mods... it's a requirement to breathe underwater, if you want an underwater base/transportation. And yes i am talking about the underwater fan moonbo reviewed that basically makes water spaces air spaces... if that makes any sense.) (and if you wanted to move the barge/boat/floating base you are able to make thrusters/glitches/mods to do it or by lift or actual push

can you do a challenge where you and kan are a team and you have to fight moonbo and you have to build a long range gun vehicle but only using the small cannon and kan has to build a demolition durby vehicle and moonbo has to have a tank and demolition durby car combined and the first one to 5 points after killing the opponent or opponents for moombo's matter wins pls also i really like your videos and the funny parts of them really crack me up and did you know tryangles are the strongest shape and wedges are pretty much a tryangle so WEDGES THE SUPERIOR SHAPE.
