I own the cervelo R3 which I bought in 2014 and it is the best bike I have ever owned! Smooth riding and super lightweight at 16 lbs with rim brakes and 28 c tires and a cobble gobbler seat post from specialized.
@@recrevs963 Personally - I feel my ability to modulate my stopping needs with rim brakes works smoother than my disk brakes & I ride in Colorado with many mtns and have not had any over-heating issues with my carbon rim brake wheels - we are all limited by a similar tire patch that contacts the road and locking up the rims under full brake is not recommended which I find happens more frequently with my disk brakes. Granted, disk brakes work better in wet conditions - but in the end, everyone should ride what they personally enjoy best.
curious if the epoxy sleeve for the head tube is needed in this version? i had the 2019 version and the epoxy was loose after a week. quite dangerous. once fixed it i loved the bike but hesitant to get another and have this risk.
Mike, Im between a Canyon CS SLX 8 Force or This Cervelo R5 SRAM Force. What is your opinion about it? (Currently I have a 2016 S3 and Im happy, I need it mostly for climbing)
Another cheap Far East sweatshop fabricated cookie cutter frameset sold for a silly high price as if it’s some artisan made custom frameset. New suckers are born every minute. 😆
The far east sweatshop made good quality bike, and the brand from west/europe selling it at higher price. You think SL7 better than Polygon Helios (Indonesia made)?

I love my R5 but one note - its the last model year they made with rim brakes which I still prefer over my SL7 with disk brakes
Thats saying something! The SL7 is a really nice ride too. Hope you can still enjoy it!
Why you prefer rim brakes. I have both though better bike has disc which i think work a bit better. Not a racer or crazy for weight.

Best economic bike ever!
Love the fact it don’t have a dropped seat stays

Ayeeee it's Chris!
Are we gonna see Team MB's riding Cervelo in the upcoming races, instead of the TCR???
The TCR was outstanding this season!

I only go up to descend and I'm really eying the R5
Err, I’m still riding my Litespeed from Colorado Cyclist. Thanks for the video.
Good evening-Like- super . see ya!! friend-:)
I weigh 195 lbs, can a carbon frame support my weight?
Easily, past 250 it starts to get problematic.
Cervelo R5 is identical to Giant TCR geometry wise.
A $4k difference between Ultegra (Force) and Dura Ace (Red) is pure scam.
But RED makes it possible to go over 50mph. Cant do that on Force. 😉
Is it the real king of the mountain? I dunno, Chris, you tell me!
Great video, but boo for using "privilege" in such a cringe way.
1st
xD
thank you! 😂 I just finished proofing it... you beat me to the finish!

Sure you might be right. What do you suggest instead then?
