Hello. I personally feel you made a great decision on not recording your Mail opening videos. I feel that you tubers that do upload those kinds of videos do it to encourage people to send more gifts. I love your channel and respect you even more after this. I always thought you all were genuine and kind people and now I’m sure of it. Thank you for sharing a little bit of your life with all of us.

I agree. I find it uncomfortable and awkward to watch someone open gifts from strangers. There's just one channel (The Farm) that I enjoy watching gift opening on. They rehabilitate shelter dogs and 99.9% of the gifts are toys and treats for the dogs.

Agree, I feel so totally uncomfortable that I won't even watch those types of video. If you are someone who sends something because that isbyour love language, sending is its own reward and hopefully not doing it just for video recognition.

Also, brands will start sending gifts to get their product seen by viewers. Having to deal with all of that stuff would be stressful.

I agree especially when watching all the outfits people sent for Samantha, so cute but no way they could possible have her wear all those clothes there were so many outfits. Children grow so fast the first year or two. I know if it were me I’d feel bad I couldn’t possible have her wear all those outfits people sent.

Mail time was sweet but awkward for all the reasons you described. So much stuff would make me crazy. It was a good choice to let it go. Your channel is perfectly structured now and I enjoy and appreciate your hard work, your judgment, and the content you provide. I get all the feels watching Garden Answer. It is inspiring, touching, laugh out loud funny, and heartwarming. Thanks for sharing! Please make sure you always balance your work life so you don’t get burned out because I would miss this terribly.

I’m in the no to mail time camp, even though it has a Christmas morning feel to it. It started to feel like people were trying to outdo each other, and put a lot of pressure on how you were expected to react. You do give shout outs now, and that seems just right.
I don’t want to lend any negativity here, but it bothers me when there are repeated questions (bordering on criticism) regarding your wealth, or what you own or buy. I know I’m old-school and was raised to not question people I don’t know about money matters, so maybe things are more relaxed now. I feel you and Aaron have graciously provided more information than the askers deserved. I can’t speak for others, but I enjoy living vicariously to scale. This is your business, you’re phenomenal at it, you clearly love it, and we are the beneficiaries.
    Alright, off my soapbox now…

Hi lovely couple! I love all your videos, but since the question came up… I am actually not missing your mail opening videos. I know lots of people appreciated them but to me they were always a bit too much… I hope I don’t come across as rude, I really don’t want to be, but it felt a bit wasteful, all the things and all the packaging and all the transports included. I am not a environmental superhero by any means, but since we’re all learning more and more about how our actions affect this one beautiful planet-home of ours, I think you’ve made the right decision to stop doing those videos. I admire you and the enthusiasm you bring to us. I can’t thank you enough for that. 🍀🌸

As far as mail-times go, I feel like these recaps took the place of mail-times beautifully, just a more relaxed/chatty videos, love it 🙂 OMG, and the roses in the backdoor entrance 🥴 I'm so happy you decided to change the landscape more to your liking and how you use the space, as an architecture student I've come to learn that the way you use your spaces should dictate the design and it's so worth it to do those changes, I need to do some of that myself in the garden, at the entrance to my hoophouse for example, I have a huge Fuchsia growing into my path and a lot of orange Thumbergia growing into the hoophouse and it stresses me out way too much 🙄

Happy birthday 🎂 to Aaron's dad! Have a fun and safe trip you guys! About pie pumpkins, in Romania we had the kind that is not watery at all and we used to bake them in the oven and eat them like that and we made like a strudel with pumpkin filling....so yummy! Over here I didn't find a pumpkin like that in 38 years. Sometimes we use yummy(sweet potatoes... orange flash ones) it kind of reminds us of that. My mom used to make it and since she doesn't know how to cook anymore 😟 did not have them anymore, probably in at least 4 maybe even 5 years. Love the recap! 🤗💗🤗

No mail time! I never understood people wanting to send you things! (You clearly make enough to buy your own thing!)
What are you suppose to do with that stuff? I guess u can donate it but that means you have to box it all up and deliver it somewhere after spending your time opening it all and sorting it.
I would not like having things sent to me randomly from unknown people! I don’t get it!

It’s never a dumb move when you get that much food from a plant. I.e. your butternut squash. I would have loved to have that to can for my family. 😁😁😁

So fun watching you and your mom in your element “antiquing.” You have said Monica loves to cook so would be fun to see in her element. She mentioned the crock for sour dough starter. If she would be open to it maybe you could do a monthly moment with Monica sharing her favorite receipes. Your family are all so kind and authentic and we all love seeing you interact.

You both are amazing and work so hard at your gardens and life! You are the epitome of " love what you do and do what you love." Love your vids, educational and full of smiles. Thank you!

Don’t miss mail time 😁. Also, yes, pumpkin some squash and sweet potatoes & yams can frequently be substituted in baking certain items. One Thanksgiving, unexpected guests, stretched sweet potato casserole by using a can of pumpkin purée! I’m personally not a fan of either flavor, but, everyone else loved the dish!😂😋

The canned pumpkin doesn’t look like a jack’o lantern, it’s tan and oblong. Libby’s calls it a Dickinson pumpkin. My hubby grew up in the central sacramento valley when there were still canning facilities. He says they would gather up the fallen pumpkins along side the roads. Libby’s has a you tube on them, although apparently they are now grown and canned in Illinois.

It shows that you work very hard doing what you do. Also, it shows that you love it. Hard work earns blessings. I think it's good that you have good sponsors. You've earned it. Plus, I'm very glad you are there and I found you. I've learned so much from you and your husband. My husband and I love working together in the yard. We were just going to maintain our yard. But, thanks to you we are digging up more lawn to plant more flowers and bushes. Thank you. May God continue to bless you.

The canned pumpkin you buy at the store is most often butternut squash. However, if you want a tasty pie, Pink Banana squash are excellent. They grow huge!
