CORRECTION The klonopin period literally started after her stint at The Betty Ford Clinic after the infamous Rock A Little tour, that was crazy re edited and released on VHS, Stevie stated she got on klonopin to keep from doing coke, she promise Betty Ford that she would not be back at her center for rehab ever again, not knowing that for the next 8 years (87-95) she would get going through a much worse cycle of hell, worse than coming off coke. One of Petty’s band mates said he didn’t like Stevie because she was a corporate sellout and stole the song Stop Draggin My Heart Around as it was supposed to go on Petty’s new album and Jimmy Iovene was boning Nicks at the time and slyly put it on Stevie’s new album. Petty wrote the song....
That's not at all true...1980 ms. Nicks was hardly a corporate sellout..and just beginning to do her own thing...Petty clearly agreed as this song "stop dragging my heart around " wasn't much to lose as he was already very successful at the time. Stevie did have many hit singles off that first album one of which carried her career on stage for a lifetime. But at that time, some thought she had nothing that was radio commercial. But over the years many of those songs grew more attention than the duet with Petty.
Lmao that isn’t true AT all. She had asked Tom to write a song for her debut solo album Bella Donna and that song ended up being Insider. After they recorded the song, Stevie noticed that Tom was really moved and proud of that song and she told him that there’s no way she could take that song from him and that he can keep it for himself which he did. He felt guilty, because he promised her a song, and so he gave her Stop Dragging My Heart Around. Tom himself has told this story. Idk why you people are so desperate to make her look bad 💀
