Every JK interview from late 90's and early 00's gives me such a goosebump!Thank God I have a great deal of fondle memories from that time, when the books were being released and the movies were coming out. Me and my siblings love Harry Potter to the core, our bedroom were COVERED with huge HP's posters and they were so beautiful. We couldn't afford the books but every afternoon we went straight to the nearest library to read the books and then when we got back home we could only talk about it... Geez! I'm literally crying while typing this lmao what a great ride it was.
ForzaTerra89 agree! It needed an all British cast. Thanks to that it gave more classic British actors (Maggie Smith such as Julia Winters) exposure to younger audiences who may not have discovered them otherwise.
Whoa! I didn’t know that JK Rowling was on the Rosie O’Donnell show before the first HP movie came out! My sister Mollie was and still is obsessed with the books and movies! She even got to meet Neville Longbottom at a Comic Con recently! Oh yeah and I remember watching Daniel, Rupert, and Emma’s interviews with Rosie on tv!
It was worth the wait. Phoenix was one of the best of the series. Goblet was boring, but the movie was much worse than the book. Goblet is by far my least favorite.
@@TitoTimTravels Goblet of Fire may be many things but boring it ain't. Opens with the murder of Frank and the Riddles, has a inter wizarding competition, there's a mystery surrounding who put Harry's name in the Goblet of Fire, Lord Voldrmort's macabre return and ends with the shocking twist of Barty Crouch Jr being Mad Eye Moody.
This cracked me up! I'm American and as an actress I studied accents as a teenager. I worked so hard and studied and practiced meticulously to learn, especially cockney. After I played a role with a cockney accent, my sister talked to my grandmother about the production (I was not around for this, my sister told me later). My grandmother didn't like my accent, and at one point she said no one does an accent like "Dick Van Dyke", as a way of praising him. It took all my sister's willpower not to burst out laughing and retort "you're right, NO ONE does an accent like Dick Van Dyke!" We had a good laugh over that later! And of course as soon as Rosie opened her mouth I literally fell over laughing
Not me. I’m glad i was born in the early 2000s. Got the best of both worlds with early technology yet still being able to be a kid without smartphones glued to my face and being able to be a kid back when the world wasn’t so overly sensitive. When i was born none of the social media apps that exist today existed back then.
For those who Love Ron Weasley-and his brothers and sister, there is something to know about them: They are related to Endora, Clara and Samantha, seen on Bewitched!
@@JDoe-gf5oz Rosie seems to be uploading a lot of stuff lately. Maybe she'll do it eventually. You are right. Even a lot of fans never recorded the episodes. So, there's a lot of content that hasn't made it to RUclips.
@slx224 You should watch the vid from the previous time she was at her Show. She was presenting the third book and kept calling it the Prisoner of Azbakan... you'd think she reads the titles first, if not the authors..... embarrassing.
She said that she doesn't know who is playing Mrs Weasley yet. Rosie was talking over her, and I think there was just a bit of a miscommunication there.
Well maybe at that time, in America she wasn’t as known compared to England. At that time, Americans didn’t really know too many English actors unless they were icons like Richard Burton, Vanessa Redgrave, Peter Sellers, Hayley Mills, and maybe a few others. Arguably though, maybe the Harry Potter films helped bridge the gap between Hollywood and British entertainment and sort of put more people on the map?
What does she mean when she say the actress playing Mrs Weasley was not a known actress!!?? and i was always impression that Daniel had never acted in his life and his parents had to be persuaded by JK Rowling to be in the film? maybe I dreamt it ..lol
He was in a movie called David Copperfield in 1999, which is the movie one of the producers (or maybe the director) was watching and saw Daniel in it and thought: THERE'S HARRY. I think Maggie Smith was also in that movie. Dan's parents just didn't want him in THIS movie because it was meant to be 7 films done in America and it would really disrupt his life.
I am American and CAN pronounce her last name right, dumbass. It is pronounced like ROLLING Rock Beer! Not just Americans pronounce it wrong too, dumbass.
Yeah that British only rule Rowling enforced??? She broke that rule on numerous occasions 1. Fiona Shaw (Irish) - Mrs. Dursley 2. Richard Harris (Irish) - Professor Dumbledore 3. Zoe Wanamaker (Irish) - Rolanda Hooch 4. Domhall Gleeson (Irish) - Bill Weasley 5. Brendan Gleeson (Irish) - Alistair "Mad Eye" Moody And I'm sure there is more
Poor Doug, I bet he cringes over this moment now. But to be fair to him, he was an American child, and was probably more excited about meeting Rosie O'Donnell (a fellow American, who he would've watched on TV for years) rather than some British writer.
Oh, I doubt it. Watch the 1999 interview. He's a superfan of Harry Potter so to meet the woman who created it must've been a treasure. Don't forget, JK Rowling is just as beloved and famous in the USA as she is in the UK
Meeting a fellow American who he would’ve watched on tv for years? I doubt he cared she was a fellow American l. Kids weren’t watching Rosie O’Donnell lol. How out of context. It would be like your 10 year old talking about what they watched on Dr Phil or some other daytime tv network garbage show. He probably was pushed by his parents to do it and make conversation with Rosie. It would make more sense that they would watch it over some young kid.
She’s truly a wonderful person, supporting the children who can’t help themselves through Lumos and addressing real world issues. Living legend.
What i would give to come back to these years...

Is it possible for anyone to upload more rare J.K. Rowling interviews? Especially from pre-2000

There is one on here of jk Rowling promoting prisoner of Azkaban on the donny and Marie show

She says book 5 won't be that long away and yet this was 2000 and order of the Phoenix book came out in 2003
