Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Ok I gotta say this. I am so far removed from farming. I am in hospitality (hotel sales & marketing in the concrete jungle of the Dallas-Ft Worth area of North Texas), I work in an office at a hotel all day long, visit with guests, make visits to corporate accounts, and rarely break a sweat. But your videos are riveting! I really should be in bed, as I have an early morning tomorrow, but your most recent upload had me glued to the screen.
Not sure if you ever get to North Texas, but if you do, let me buy you a beer. Texas can make a great craft brew.
That's awesome, thank you very much! Glad you watch!!
Ditto, no connection at all but can't stop being entertained by it
@@MillennialFarmer we got bunch of those at our kubota /caseih dealer here in pei canada
@@MillennialFarmer hahaha theres corwan
Glad to see another Dallas friend watching!!!
Your approach to using social media to educate people about the ag sector is definitely working. I've been in the Minnesota suburbs my whole life and knew nothing about farming, but your videos have definitely educated me on how the industry works and how the politics and economics can make or break a farmers year.
Thank you very much!!
glad to see another Minnesotan watching his vids

Our money may look funny early in the day but when its 1 AM and its your round, the coloured money is extremely helpful!
I can just imagine the conversation when he gets home and sits down with his family, "I think we need to buy 12,000 more acres" lol
🤣🤣 just like that!
And some red machines😉
well as the guy 22k hectar guy said, farmers are dying out, so lotsa land to grab...
@@biobauer8 but at a cost.. the only way we can expand here in the netherlands is by buying our neighbours.. not many people can just rack up 2 million euros for 20 hectares..

That guy with the 22,000 acres sure knew his shizitt!!! Great video!

Amazing farm guys.
22,000 acres.... damn
Farmers like this are the reason for the tasty Canadian Whiskey :-)
You needed to talk to interview lady #2 for the rest of your day!! 😍
One of the good things about Canada. The excessive amount of asian women.
Those case leather seats looked pretty badass and comfy.
Thanks for the shoutout on the Versatile. I'll be at the Ag in Motion show in Saskatoon in two weeks.
This channel is amazing...I want to see a league of awesome Farmers, Welker Farms, Millenial Farmer etc.
Most people don't realize how hard you guys work and how vital farming is to our and all of society, I mean seriously Organized Agriculture was the first step that led mankind away from nomadic tribes and into cities and communities, Farmers really are on the cutting edge most times so they can stay profitable because they keep dropping what they pay farmers and raising the prices at the stores, something has to give, Thank you for the fresh safe food you provide us in North America. You deserve a lot more credit Farmers!
Nice to see the Case equipment. We used to run it and it was great stuff. Thanks for that video.
Zach, you and your family are great ambassadors to farming and all the businesses that support it!!! A BIG thank you from a non farmer who knows who is putting the food on our plates.
Thank you very much!!

Go back, we need an equipment tour of Kristjans farm.
Jtrieskey yea no kidding... I bet it’s impressive!
Bet there would be at least 4 80+ foot airseeder to get that crop in 🤭
Don't know why it took me so long to find this video. I like the fact that I can learn from what you do and this is my favourite so far
My smart ass first thought was, he’s lost and can’t find his way around the venue, without auto steer!🤣🤣🤣
First time commenter here. Just wanted to say I have had enormous enjoyment watching your channel. I reckon this is one of the best vlogging channels on youtube, of any topic for so many reasons. Defo a proper good laugh too on occasions! I have a farming background but currently work in a different occupation. For any US readers of this comment who are also interested in WW2, our farm was based on RAF Biggin Hill airfield (UK), where back in the war, we were and still are very grateful to have had brave American pilots flying missions. Our farm was approx 500 acres and we were almost exclusively silage and hay. We were also agri contractors, offering our services to local farms (ploughing, baling, spraying, etc). Our main machines at the time I was there (1982 -1995) were David Brown 90 series tractors (yes that's right - Case Internationals!) but we also had a John Deere which was my fave :) Many many thanks for the great videos.
Interesting, thank you!!
Wow Zack thank you for going up there and going to that show! It's really neat to see what those guys do, we the United States kind of get in a rut and forget the rest of the world Farms too, big-time!
Zach it so awesome we have wittness what God has done with Millennial Farmer. I from the bottom of my love of farming. I say thank you for all the work you and your family has put into Millennial Famer.

Wow that's a huge place. I thought Welker was big. It's so interesting the things you guys do. Hard working
I'm human and I eat, my food magically appears at a store, I buy it and consume it, repeat over again. I now know more about what it takes to get it there thanks to you. I have encouraged all the young people I know to watch your channel. We all need to apricate the farmer more big or small. Keep talking to the people that don't know. Thank a farmer for growing it and thank a trucker for bring it and thank you for what you do
I'm guessing they got you all liquored up on that Canada beer to get you to promote Case. :D
Very enjoyable video.
I absolutely love your videos and they have been tremendously valuable to me in my job. I’m in sales and have been selling products to Deere, AGCO, CNHi and others for close to two decades. Over all those years, I’d meet with engineers and never really understood how the equipment works or it’s uses. Watching your videos has really opened my eyes to so much, so thank you for all you do. I’m truly thankful that I stumbled across your channel last year while doing some research on new machines. Besides the educational side of it, you are funny as hell. You have a beautiful family and are truly blessed with all that you have and your ability to educate those of us that know nothing about agriculture. Thank you again and keep up the great work.
You got into a UGV? (Unidentified Ground Vehicle) You're a brave man!
These guys are real businessmen. Today's farmer is really something and my hat is off, mucho respect !
Your best vlog yet! Jason the Kiwi we need more of New Zealand on Millennial Farmer😂
Awesome video...very entertaining and informative....Wow- 22,000 acres and a 24 hr operation...Love your channel... Thanks for the video.

Man I just found your channel a week or so ago and I’ve been watching non stop ever since. Such a great channel. You are a great guy and it shows through the camera. Keep it up. I don’t know why there’s not a channel on tv dedicated to farm shows like this. It’s great. Thanks for what you do for us farmers.
Here in Manitoba we have 20k-30k acre farms as well, I work on a farm a little over 9000 acre farm. Has Instagram and you-tube too. Beaver Creak Farms Ltd if interested in seeing a potato/grain farm in action
I was the circulation developer for Erosion Control Magazine for 11 years, and used to see all the show and write-ups year after year. The editor and I shared a suite. So interesting to actually see people enjoying and learning about the equipement life and up close!

Thank you! That article got spun slightly differently than how the conversation with the reporter actually went, but it's all good. I should have expected that!
Ayyyeeee..... another kiwi, that was my nickname aswell when I was on a custom harvest crew last year, from nz obviously aswell, was pretty cool to see him on the video😁

Haha, Jon sold us our first Claas Combine and he even gave me a free 1/32 model. Traded from a 0 hour 7230 (this was awhile ago)
Was at the IL Farm Progress show to learn about seed treatments. Their venue was massive. I wish I knew more about equipment because that is what the show predominates.

Im younger than you by a short few years(tail end of the millenials born in 95) and i would be confused trying to even understand any of the new equipment. I still run equipment from the 50's-70's. I dont know if i want anything new now that i got to actually see the complexity thanks to this channel. Ill keep my 1100 series masseys.
Good to see the ol kiwi boys out there doing it
I subscribe to several Canadian farmer channels. Never ceases to amaze me how different they are from a wheat and soybean farmer in Kansas. And yet we’re the same. Buy it at retail, set it at wholesale, make a few dollars (or not), and love every minute.
Poor John Deere. If they put you any further away you would be outside the gate.
here goes first time commenter long time watcher im from new zealand im a chef so have not to much to do with farming but i do love these vids they teach me alot and help me understand how we get our product in turn i can use this info so our patrons are more informed on where there food is from and the huge amount of work hours that go into it ie soy beans and even that translation in to the meat products cheers
Sorry, I had to 'giggle' when that lady said, "Ragina!" I dunno...just got me all giggly!
I got giggly because I thought she said vagina.
We actually call it "the vag"
Never mind what she said! She was Hottt!!
Your so right about the impact social media can have! I'm a builder in NH and don't farm at all. We don't have big farms where onlive so I find it so interesting and incredible what goes into an outfit like yours!
i live in southern Ontario we farm 2700 acres thats a pretty standard size here we do soy beans corn and winter wheat
maybe if youre from chatham-kent or huron. Middlesex and oxford county averages are smaller
First off, coming from someone with past media experience, you're very good at this. You're on camera presence and ability to show and explain what you're doing in all these videos is really quite remarkable. They're enjoyable and informative. Secondly, what you're doing with your website and these videos is so important. You're helping people everywhere get a better understanding not only of farming itself and the incredible work that goes into the profession but also to remind folks about where food comes from, that it all doesn't just start on a shelf in a big grocery store. Sharing your knowledge of farming and the use of its new technologies and communicating it through social platforms is very commendable. Not to mention a great business decision in my opinion. Hope you and and your family continue to reap positive results from it and keep up the great work!
That's an incredible compliment, thank you so much!!!
@@MillennialFarmer You're welcome and it's the truth. Cheers from New Hampshire!
Dont forget to say the IH in Case IH, pretty important
The Case salesman should have said “The only thing our combine does not have is a sensor to let you know if the rear axle falls off.”
🤣🤣
Just buy a case zach
Edit:btw im from canada, upper Ontario
Edit 2: You made my day by going to the case booth, Thank you:)
it was nice that you were able to visit us up here in canada. hope you enjoyed your stay. maybe one day you can come check out the farms in ontario and compare them to others you have seen.

I think it has something to with all the red UFO sightings in Minnesota. They either corrupted him or he agreed to be more red friendly to avoid future probings.
Lots n lots of beer probably
Lol
I just think Zach wanted to see how a real farming was done
This is probably one of my favorite videos that was mostly discussion and Q&A. Thank you for some insight into Canadian farming operations.
You should try the Sunbelt ag expo in moltury ga it's in October
Glad you had a fun time up here in Canada . Looks like you tasted our Beer and liked it , next time try our Authentic Canadian Poutine .
Disclaimer: only Saskatchewan is only farms we have actual cities in Canada too (and if you come smell a $20+ bill, the smell like maple syrup)
Chur from Auckland, Kiwi. Pretty buzzy seein u on my favorite farming channel all the way on the opposite side of the world. What an awesome expo on day 1 Zack.
In North Queensland here in Australia we grow sugarcane and cattle
Glad to hear that social media is having an impact on behalf of ag. Clearly, that's the way to go in getting info about farming out there. I write books and do occasional presentations, and that doesn't have nearly the impact your videos have. So good work. Hope those speaking gigs and interviews keep coming for you.
You should definitely get a Claas harvester!
Needs to talk to Brown Family Farms about their ones
This has to be one of the most informative videos that you have put. Even though I am not a farmer I found it very interesting how the "other' farmers do their jobs. The Canadian farmer was very informative about how and what he does. Thanks for the video.
At 1.02 did The lady actually say Regina,,,,sounded like something else.

Never thought i would see väderstad in a american youtube channel.
I can’t believe how much gap there is between farming and other walks of life. I come from a farming community that knows what farming is. But a lot of the area is tourist. People have so many questions about farming when they come to the area. It seems to be very interesting to them to learn. Love the perspective you have. Love the video. And no we don’t need to “go back 60 years “. I been there and realize now some practices we did then probably wasn’t right. That’s how we learn. Keep up the good work. Best wishes
Thank you very much for the kind words!

That Kiwi Guy , what a cool cat. Aye to meet MN farmer on film and keep your shit together is a Texas Holden moment. Green is the grass of pastures to wander with careless abandon , Red is a fault , a blush or fight of schooled misdirection. Take it easy , i like the DT

Green will always remain #1
Super chuffed to have a representative from my country feature in your videos. Well done Kiwi!
I have been following your channel for a little over a year now and absolutely love your content. Your so genuine and original in how you represent a hardworking farmer and family man to the world. It’s so interesting for me to see the scale of the machines and the differences in farming here in NZ compared to you, and now the super farms in Canada.
My background is in dairy farming and now grow Kiwifruit which unfortunately means that the tractors had to shrink in order to do what we needed to but despite the differences in how we go about our days you are still showing the world that there are a lot of hardworking people all over the show who put the food in supermarkets for the townies to enjoy.
Keep it up Zach!!
Thank you very much!!
Come to agri trade in Red Deer Alberta this fall!
We have a pretty sweet grain truck lined up for that show. I work at Alberta Box Centre in Wetaskiwin and we had an awesome green Freightliner truck in the show 2 years ago.

This has been so cool when my father was alive we used to go to Iowa every year some times 3 times a year. To pheasant hunt. We made some great friends in the farm community the farmers were always great wither we got to hunt or not. Haven’t been in 29 years. I always miss being around the farms in the fall. Now I tune in and am all better. Thanks

As impressive as that farm was it makes me a bit sad. "Small" family farms like yours are what farming should be in my opinion.
I have always wanted to be a farmer, but never had the chance. Your channel has helped me, and other people I'm sure, understand what it takes to be a farmer. It is a lot more than just planting crops, or raising animals. Its technology, learning, patience, faith,, money. A lot of things have to go just right soyou can have a profit, or a good year.. looking forward to seeing that challenger replaced by a CASE! l o l..
