She is only 10 months.. plus female 😂 many would breed her without hesitation. I liked her stability. Totally understand your desire to look for perfection. I would do the same. Thanks Haz. Yeah the whole
    “It’s how you raise them” gets a bit oversold. It obviously matters but every dog will have or not have predilections toward certain behaviors no matter what you do.

    Nice video. I have a girl like this. Amazing ball drive. She would spend a day searching the property for a ball. It’s amazing all our other dogs are terriers. I thought no other breed would out pass them for drive.

    This is a good video Haz!
    I like her but I think you made the right call and setting an example for other breeders. A few questions that maybe you can address in your next video;
    1. What is your opinion on the growling with the first two bites? Nerves or no?
    2. Do you consider the genetic traits fully developed by the time the dog is 10 months?
    3. How is your Bordy female looking so far?

    Yeah this is what I meant with the lacklustre comment lol, what I really meant was lacking that little extra fire in protection to hurt the decoy. But the fundamental character strength, food drive and ball drive from your dogs seems as good as you could get without ruining the nerve side. So clearly a quality dog. Maybe it’s harder to produce these nasty intent dogs than I might have thought. Bit of luck involved and also maybe just not so commonly selected for recently in Czech lines so hard to extract from the current lines available. I would suggest Staatsmacht lines for your programme I think they’d compliment your dogs well as they’re similar to yours in character and the studs (e.g JT staatsmacht) definitely have the fire in protection.

    In another video, say that you are generally not trying to produce litters that are too extreme (specifically where too many puppies are like Gage) presumably because they would be "too much dog" for most of your clients who are looking for club level sport dogs, police dogs, or family protectors. But if you breed females much stronger than this one to males like Viktor, isnt that what you will risk getting? or will the downward slope in breeding still make too many extremes unlikely? If the latter, this really makes you wonder just how strong both dogs must be genetically to produce litters like the Eisernen Kreuz D litter for example

    I think a little mistake happened at 17:26, when the person with the leash stepped backwards as you approached the dog before you confronted her. That may got her in a backward thinking mindset as you confronted her, hence her grip was a little off. Pls correct me if I'm wrong. I don't know the professionell English terms. I may be wrong Pls correct me.

    You very politely destroyed 99% of “working” dog breeders; and educated the buyers. As 99% of other breeders would have no problem in breeding her. If I am being honest - I wouldn’t disagree. But just shows your super high standards.

    I really enjoyed this video. I think your spot on, she’s a good dog and maybe a great dog someday. But like you said your not looking to breed a well trained dog. You could always give her to someone that will work her as a sport dog or a family Pro and keep breeding rights, but that’s easier said than done.

    Do you ever breed for the purpose of the puppies being search and rescue dogs? Where I live they have shed hunts, where the dog is judged on finding deer antlers that have been shed off by the deer. A lot of the dogs used are retrievers but I love German Shepherds.

  • @rodbarker6598
    @rodbarker6598 Год назад

    Genetics is way more than the individual dog, its about prepotency and the dogs stacked in behind that made the individual, a nervous dog can throw rock steady and rock steady can throw nervous, with a really good bloodline you can take chances breeding dogs that have a fault if they have other qualities that are reflective of the bloodline, the only rule is don't double up on any fault, most great performance animals are better than what they came from, that's how prepotency works as nature is looking for the average while breeders stack traits to raise the average.

    • @thunderandstorm4957

      The dog nose is not a skill just like your eyes and capability to look for something is not a skill .the skill is the handlers knowledge and capability to motivate the dog to search use the ball as an explosive motivator for the new game since you didn't even need to build the drive for it, and your dog will find anything keep it fun.

    So I understand that she's not the right dog for you as far as breeding stock goes. But in the whole realm of the working dogs that you're interested in do you think there's any place to breed her? Maybe somebody that's looking for a specific type dog that's just a little bit different than you're wanting? I only ask this because there are so many badly bred German Shepherd's out there that it would be nice to get some above average bloodlines going.

    Thanks for differentiating between a real deal police dog and typical prey monster dogs that fold under extreme reality pressure. Violent hardcore suspects don’t give a damm about a dog’s lineage. When it’s getting the crap beat out of it with full force kicks punches slamming against walls, cars etc only the top 10% genetic dogs love that fight and unleash holy hell to their dying breath. Yes …… dying breath
    I was blessed to have worked such a PSD K9. The trial field is really cool winning trophies but it is NOT reality. Keep up the good work you do. Too many trainers sanitize how brutal a real man vs dog fight is! Peace

    First and foremost you should consider the the Hip grading history (and possibly even the elbows) of her lines in my opinion that should be the most important factor when deciding whether to breed her, also making sure before you do that her hips have a passing grade by whatever grading system is used in your country regarding hip displasia... this is obviously temperament focused but still i think whenever talking about breeding especially with breeds prone to these sorts of things its never a bad thing that these factors are brought up, especially when hes talking about genetics so much.

    • @hardcorek9510
      @hardcorek9510 2 года назад +2

      He is not talking about hips because that is something done without question. As with any good breeder, hips and elbows are tested extensively.

    • @bruh-ItsTokyo
      @bruh-ItsTokyo 2 года назад

      In older videos he has talked about this already, this is one based on the dogs personality and how well it does environmentally. So this is basically a Part II, also this testing is also used for Service dogs as well since his puppies were mostly sold for service/protection/Arson/Detection/Police work etc. But I can see why you said to include that in the video bc it is needed for a lot of new people to the channel as well as people looking for dogs, new to training, etc. So thank you for saying this, much appreciated.

    • @AntTheDogGuy
      @AntTheDogGuy 2 года назад

      @@bruh-ItsTokyo Yeah it wasn't really a huge criticism, like i acknowledged that the video was really temperament focused, and i understand that his dogs are used in many different fields security, detection etc, and this was the focus of the video. I was involved in the German Shepherd world in my country for a really long time and the importance of sending people to proper breeders who have all properly vetted their dogs hips is paramount and like you said its just sort of a thing for people new to this channel or those who might have stumbled across the video, i have no doubt its been brought up in past videos as an incredibly important factor its just a thing with me whenever breeding is brought up certain things just need to be reiterated even if they're not the focus of the video just for those that don't know this stuff, like a 5 to 10 seconds saying once the hips are checked and passed then we can evaluate the dog for etc etc... but thanks for engaging and the content!!!
