Is there a place where I can check your exact itinerary? A friend and I will do this trail next summer and since this is our first large distance trail we would like to have some advice :) we are particularly interested in your resupply strategy. Did you send your parcels from the Netherlands? Or already while on the trail?
We have experienced that packages with supplies sent from Holland to Norway take a very long time (weeks) at customs and may even be rejected and returned. I have heard stories of people sending packages from home to mountain huts (type fjällstation) with succes. We took the our resupply packages into Sweden and sent them to Ritsem and Abisko mountain huts. They never really arrived there but instead went to supermarkets in Gällivare and Abisko-village, where we collected them. We also resupplied in supermarkets in Moen (coming from from Rosta hut), Tromsø (from Kilpisjärvi) and Storslett (from Saraelv). We hiked from Sulitjelma to Vaisaluokta, took the boat to Ritsem, hiked due north to Katterat, took the train to Abisko, then Björkliden, then hiked to Kautokeino. Good luck with this great project!
