I’ve loved this song for over a decade now (I have more favorite morning glory songs) I’m only 32. I am dying. I have a son. I’m going back to my doctors. I’m doing all the right things. This song and and an old friend changed my life.
For the longest I could'nt remember the name of this song, and would always address it as "Punk in a Box". Here I am years later finding this gem again!
you know I dont like a ton of mourning glories songs I don't even like this one. but what I love about erza is he's clearly looking for the soul of punk in modern times. the genre cant stay stagnent, and he takes such sweet gambles. I admire this band
I'm just glad the whole "squatter" thing is over with... That really handicapped a lot of bands. I understood it, but enough was enough, progress is the best idea. This record is amazing, by the way.
Then I’m really really behind... last thing I listened to alot was Gimme Herion. Crazy to hear Morning Glory with even the production quality being on Fat Wreck provides.
I remember the last show i went to at the Beaumont KCMO westport.. Morning Glory. Spanging for beers all night, fighting that dready dude for the mic on the last half of Gang Control.. Helping kids get pics with Ezra.. Drunkenly yelling at him that we need more positive shit.. Fuck yeah fuck yeah
Oi! Oi! Oi! Oi! There'll be no justice There'll be no peace There'll be more hippies It'll never cease We keep calm and carry on There'll be more questions than answers come They'll make a martyr of you, my son But we keep calm and carry on We just keep calm and carry on I am not dead yet I am not done There's still so much here under the sun So many songs that are yet unsung I am not dead I am not dead I am not done There'll be more god's hate And religious war There'll be more causes that we must endure But we keep calm and carry on We just keep calm and carry on I am not dead yet I am not done There's still so many songs to be sung So much to live for and to be said I am not done I am not dead I am not done Oi! Oi! Oi! Oi! Oi!
Ezra was always the heart of LoC and all the Crack Rock Steady bands. I'm so happy that he's making music like this. CV had some really great songs too and that's not to be discounted, but I agree that this really sounds like Ezra finding his voice, and that's amazing to get to witness.
+Joseph Hamer He left I think last year (don't quote me on that) because he was tired of the drug use and as he was getting clean he didn't want to be pulled back into it. Also because he wanted to focus more on Morning G as he saw LoC more as a side project.
think about how young these guys were in the late 90's writing songs, I'm proud to say I grew up with crack rock, and all the scabbie infested c squaters, and i can say the way of progression reflects growth of one' self, the growth of our social and economical worlds not to forget how we only seen 2 presidents in the span of their careers, essentially, Morning G and LoC have dipped into new worlds of punk establishment yet holding on to the major principles and fundamentals of the damn music, It's like their early shit was an aggressive, "fuck you" step into the void, and the most recently releases are like this optimistic blueprint demonstrating an uncertain path but such a happy and "fuck it" feeling... love yall,
Yes that's right, punk is dead, It's just another cheap product for the consumers head. Bubblegum rock on plastic transistors, Schoolboy sedition backed by big time promoters. CBS promote the Clash, But it ain't for revolution, it's just for cash. Punk became a fashion just like hippy used to be And it ain't got a thing to do with you or me. Movements are systems and systems kill. Movements are expressions of the public will. Punk became a movement cos we all felt lost, But the leaders sold out and now we all pay the cost. Punk narcissism was social napalm, Steve Jones started doing real harm. Preaching revolution, anarchy and change As he sucked from the system that had given him his name. Well I'm tired of staring through shit stained glass, Tired of staring up a superstars arse, I've got an arse and crap and a name, I'm just waiting for my fifteen minutes fame. Steve Jones you're napalm, If you're so pretty (vacant) why do you swarm? Patti Smith you're napalm, You write with your hand but it's Rimbaud's arm. And me, yes I, do I want to burn? Is there something I can learn? Do I need a business man to promote my angle? Can I resist the carrots that fame and fortune dangle? I see the velvet zippies in their bondage gear, The social elite with safety-pins in their ear, I watch and understand that it don't mean a thing, The scorpions might attack, but the systems stole the sting. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD.
Ah this brings me back...when I was a stupid teenager I used to bash kids who listen to Morning Glory, NoFX, Bad Religion etc etc, these bands aren't punk rock I said and lectured them what is punk and what isn't. I'd try if anyway possible to force/shove my opinion down their throats, they must conform to my standard or else they're fucking poseur. What an idiot I was...lmao
Mitch Cayouette you're literally a fat neckbeard in a fedora who listens to Red Hot Chili Peppers. Why do you think you get to define who is and isn't punk?
Wow! Just goes to show that you don’t need to be a catchy songwriter, or decent singer to sign to Fat (just some power chords & you’re good). This guy got his singing style from the Bouncing Souls (just sorta yell with a musical note attached to it). Absolutely terrible!!! I’m surprised that Sam from Get Dead hasn’t killed these girls yet.
***** "I categorize this music into this and this slot and that's the universal truth because it's my opinion when it comes to taste in music whether you like or not", you sound like the average bigot, no pun intended tho..

it's been three months, I hope you're still with us
Ezra's song writing really takes on a new meaning if you have ever been an addict. Love this guy and i'am very glad he isn't dead :)
Fuck the haters. This is better than any street punk I've heard in the last 15 years.
no song could make me feel as hopeful about our upcoming struggles, defeats, embarassments, humiliations, and failures as this song does.
Back in the days on the LOC forum, the rumour of Ezra dying surfaced every couple of weeks, can't believe he's still alive, RIP
Easily one of my favorite songs and videos ever!
fucking awesome! cool to see a band change their sound and still kick ass
For the longest I could'nt remember the name of this song, and would always address it as "Punk in a Box". Here I am years later finding this gem again!
The beard on the black guy at the beginning is amazing! Man's got style.
you know I dont like a ton of mourning glories songs I don't even like this one. but what I love about erza is he's clearly looking for the soul of punk in modern times. the genre cant stay stagnent, and he takes such sweet gambles. I admire this band

Hope these guys get to come to Aus again some day! Getting to sing the whole world is watching was the coolest shit.
I'm just glad the whole "squatter" thing is over with... That really handicapped a lot of bands. I understood it, but enough was enough, progress is the best idea. This record is amazing, by the way.

Hah I'm so behind on Morning Glory. This is bonkers hearing a newer track with this production quality.
Then I’m really really behind... last thing I listened to alot was Gimme Herion. Crazy to hear Morning Glory with even the production quality being on Fat Wreck provides.
Fucking awesome!
Fuck yeah fuck yeah
the dislikes ARE TO DAMN HIGH
Oi! Oi! Oi! Oi!
There'll be no justice
There'll be no peace
There'll be more hippies
It'll never cease
We keep calm and carry on
There'll be more questions than answers come
They'll make a martyr of you, my son
But we keep calm and carry on
We just keep calm and carry on
I am not dead yet
I am not done
There's still so much here under the sun
So many songs that are yet unsung
I am not dead
I am not dead
I am not done
There'll be more god's hate
And religious war
There'll be more causes that we must endure
But we keep calm and carry on
We just keep calm and carry on
I am not dead yet
I am not done
There's still so many songs to be sung
So much to live for and to be said
I am not done
I am not dead
I am not done
Oi! Oi! Oi! Oi! Oi!

This one song is better than everything he ever did with Leftover Crack or Choking Victim. It's not even close.
