My friend- review the QN85D. I give you my personal guarantee It will surprise the hell out of you and you will crown it the best mini LED you have ever seen. Every time I make a comment like this, there's a lot of support for this review.
Bought the 77” S90D hooked up with ATV no looking back. $2500 for 77” QDOLED amazing price, couldn’t justify 5K for 77 A95L it just doesn’t make sense for minimal differences.
Quantum, just became a member today and got my s90D getting ready to open the box to set up with your settings. Thanks for the great advice. Also thanks for a few years ago, got LG CX because of you it was great over the years. Goodbye LG, Welcome Samsung.
Gotta voice my long term satisfaction with LG, although I know Samsung is great, my 55 C1 still feels mindblowing 3 years later, couldn’t be more satisfied… Series X looks stunning, films as well. Not perfect, just because WebOS has had its annoying moments. Also I’m a retro gamer and it has been fantastic, problem free experience with 4th-7th gen consoles and upscaling. Overall, the purchase has left me not wanting another tv for 3 years… and the foreseeable future, which is a success.
It’s 10,000% Samsung! You laid out all the reasons beautifully as usual my friend and for those stuck on the whole Dolby Vision thing just go back and watch some of quantum‘s older videos. He will explain to you why SDR is better anyway!
I couldn't be happier with my SAMSUNG 2018 Q8FN 65" that YOU reviewed extensively. I did my research and boy am I STILL happy with it, hands down, this TV is KILLIN' IT. I'll probably go to my grave with this Q8FN. ❤
8-bit HDR refers to a type of HDR (High Dynamic Range) that uses 8 bits per color channel, allowing for 16.7 million colors. While this is less than the 10-bit HDR, which offers 1.07 billion colors, 8-bit HDR can still provide a noticeable improvement over standard dynamic range (SDR) content. The main difference is in the color depth and gradation: 10-bit HDR can display smoother transitions between colors and finer shades, which is especially noticeable in high-quality panels. However, 8-bit HDR can still be marketed as HDR if it meets certain brightness and contrast standards. Do you have a specific question about HDR or are you considering a new TV?
What is your take on Samsung not supporting Dolby Vision? For those of us that enjoy physical media, are we missing out or the benefits of Dolby Vision over blown?
Sony have given us a free tv…months after warranty expired. we had XBR 65X 930D. After 9 years it stopped working. I messaged support and they sent out their service crew and couldn’t fix it. While it was lower quality (X90L) it was free… you can hate Sony, but that’s great customer service.
TCL as a company is very, very hungry for that top spot and they’re innovating LCD like no other. Their WHVA panel is going to force these other brands to compete no doubt. Spec wise it has wider BT.2020 coverage than every QD OLED on the market. For now Samsung is king
Have a couple questions, firstly you are a tv whisperer 👍your knowledge is second to none. I am considering buying a Hisense u7n, have done some reviews. From my understanding, the u8n is just brighter. So, am on a tight budget looking for a 65 inch tv. In conclusion, will most likely get the U7 Hisense. Secondly, in your professional opinion, when is the best time buying a new tv, Boxing 0 0:03 Day? Black Friday? Any advice will be greatly appreciated 🙏🤓 0:03
I'm looking for a screen to watch movies on from dvd and blurays... ideally upto 43" on a budget of £500, not worried about sound as I plug into my yam hifi. Not interested in gaming. Currently use small panasonic and will be using db-ub820. Can you recommend anything?
What’s your opinion on the best ~100 inch TV right now for around $3,000? It will need to have a great viewing angle as I have couches in front and on both sides of the TV. Your input would be highly appreciated.
Hey Quantum, I just found your channel as I'm in the market for a new TV and I really have come to appreciate your testing material (actual real world games and movies) as well as how honest and frank you are with your opinion. Also your custom TV settings look amazing! I did want to ask, are you able to make a video comparing the 2024 TCL QM8 vs the 2024 TCL QM7? I know the QM8 is the shit but I'd like to know how close (or far) the QM7 is to it if I was trying to save a few hundred bucks.
When you say you watch in game mode, does that mean you're using a console to watch all movies because game mode on the Xbox separates colours better? I watch blu-rays in game mode too because the colours look richer. So does that mean you recommend it's not worth buying a stand alone blu-ray player like the Panasonic UB8020 and continue watching videos on a games console forever?
I returned Hisense uk8 and returned it for Sony x90L best decision ever. I watched sports most of the time and movies. Let me tell you Hisense uK8 sucks so bad for sports, ghosting and motions is so bad. The crazy part is $700 off the Sony, which was 7 inch bigger screen for only $200 more than the uk8. Honestly, Sony cosmetic build is way better, looks more impressive hands down. Hisense also freezes and you need to turn it off and reset sometimes. Feels like the operating system is cheap and not well built. I exchanged it twice thinking it was only the panel but seems like a very common issue.
Looking to get a tv 65-75 inch used for gaming and watching tv, and don’t wanna spend more than 1100 bucks should I go with the tcl qm7 or Hisense u8 ?
Hey Q, I’m looking to upgrade from A80j 65 to qdled, I’m currently looking at s90c 65” 1299$ and s90d 1499$, should I pull the trigger on s90c now or wait for s90d to drop further? Your advice is highly appreciated.
If youre buying a tv for picture quality and gaming then go with Samsung. If youre buying a TV with all the bells and whistles go with LG. If you want "bang for your buck" go with Hisense. If money is no object and youre not a gamer go with Sony.
Get the new 2024 model oled Panasonic. Pump the colors to 75 and let it to fight with Samsung QDOLED. But set the colors of the Samsung to 55. Maybe Pana will have a chance...
@QUANTUM_TV Hey brotha man any chance on you reviewing the Sansui S55VOUG as a super budget OLED? I bought the s90D as per you recommendations also joined your sub service and input your settings. Must admit the colors look amazing. Only thing I find is the motion handling is a little off for my eye and I prefer my picture more sharp (coming from Sonys since I was a kid). It depends what your using the TV for LG qned has the fastest motion stabilising speed when you turn on the Motion PRO but you loose 30% Brightness 🌞 and then Oled is like 200nits
& to piggyback off that last reply, SDR is better anyway because there is no standard for HDR. That’s why it’s so problematic! Just go back and watch some of quantum’s older videos he explains it perfectly!
How many things are in DV vs SDR. Now how big is the difference between dv and hdr10? Comparisons show hdr10 is better than dv so most people don't care. The QD-OLED experience vastly outweighs not having dv.
