Tracy when you said you might have to drop the boys and leave them there to have surgery, I would be beside myself. You are so wise to ask probing questions of the vets. These horses are your children plus of course sweet Bailey. You think outside the box-an expression we use in the states I you. You are being a superb patient advocate. You set a marvelous example for us all. Thank you for all you and your helpers do.
I was upsessed to leave them alone. For surgery or anything else. They can't talk human language. You have to interprate for them! No one else could! 🫣

Loved Nero’s water flossing for his teeth! You were right about the boys - you need to talk to the doctor first before plans. Sounds like involves quite a bit of planning and thinking! You have a good chance to see what their opinion is as well as the other vets. Very peaceful views in your video as usual and goes well with the lovely sound of them chewing their carrots. ❤
That is a dilemma, but, I love your clarity of thought and the way you approach things. I suspect if any of us were called up for an operation last minute we’d have questions and feel reticent! 😳 Glad the weather has been good for you all today. What a beautiful and peaceful view. ❤

You are right, Tracey. For what it’s worth, I support your decision 100%. I wouldn’t willy-nilly drop off my animals for surgery without having the whole picture. As you say, both boys are relatively comfortable, and waiting a few days, or even weeks to ensure this is the right course is the responsible thing to do. You are a woman who trusts her instincts and you will make the right decision at the right time. We are nearly at the 8,000 subscriber mark. Let’s see if we can get there by tomorrow. Maybe something went wrong with the xrays? Maybe they did see two and thought about two horses? In Germany you got some crazy things like that... 😅

Think your decision not to travel for surgery tomorrow is definitely the right one. You don't have sufficient information about what's intended to enable you to make an informed decision. Always rely on your gut feeling, it reacts for a reason and won't let you down ❤ xx

Totally agree to wait until you know more especially as they haven’t even had the CT scans yet - it’s like us going for an op with no information - look forward to hearing more once you’ve spoken to the surgeon - the relationship you have with the surgeon is really important as is all the information to make an informed choice
To me it seems to be crazy to say yes, go for the surgery. It seems like they got some places to release. 🫢

Smart to be cautious going forward with Bear (Happy Birthday BTW 🎉🎉🎉) and Nero...after all you will be the one that has care of them after whatever the Drs. decide the procedures should be. Oh my Life...look at you go at that post..all by yourself...amazing Wonder Woman! OMG! What happened to Mr. JB???😳 He looks like the morning after an evening of "regrets" 😂😂😂 (I had too much to drink...passed out...and woke up like this) That was certainly a shock...and look at his cute little hairy legs 😆. I can certainly see your zen place is out in the pastures...a place to be able to reflect without distractions...and enjoy the company of horses. Will be looking forward to the raffle video on Wed. evening.🤗
Bit of a shock 2 horses for ops. Totally understand why you want to know the ins and outs of their treatments and possible ops. I would want the same!
And you have to factor costs and post treatment. You have to be practical.
After all that stress, taking the time to be with your horses on such a gorgeous day is the perfect antidote.

Tracey, you just have to go with your gut. You know the horses and their individual needs. You are also aware of your sanctuary's needs to plan for the excellent care you all provide. You, of course, have the Friesian's best interest in mind (and your heart). Keep up the good work.

Here in the soggy Midwest of the US, there are lightweight covers that fit over the round bale holders. They protect the hay from moisture and reduce waste.

I find setting posts very satisfying. Unless they are stuck in wet clay. Your thought process re the boys is a great lesson for all of us: don’t let yourself be rushed into decisions with long term consequences. They are uncomfortable but not in danger. Take the time you need to make the best decision for all concerned.

Absolutely right! You don't have informations for or against it. But if you follow, you have to follow the results. Do not do it! You can not undo it again. The Hospital won't need to take care of the boys over years. And i have to say pay for it. 🫢💸 You need to decide whisely in the best way for both and reaching out for years. This is hart! But i think you did your best! Rather wait a day, than breakdown🧨🩼🚪 today.

Yes, it is a beautiful view … peace and tranquility, at its best! Love the green pastures … we’re still very much brown mixed in with a bit of white … at least for the moment. Anything can happen in the next couple of months.

I must say Mable has the prettiest ears I’ve seen on a Friesian. Almost reminds me of an Arabian mare’s ears. And Nero is quite the handsome boy! He’s quite happy there and seems to have really settled in … he obviously loves being pampering!
And I gather the shots won’t do him any good, other than a short-term quick fix!?!
Looking forward to hearing the update on the boyz, after you’ve spoken with the Vet at the Rainbow Clinic!

Your decision was very rightly! I am shocked that this facility just expected you to from them with no information!! Good grief that alone causes me to be suspect of the care they provide. But you are a wise horsewoman and are very wisely doing the right thing!

I can only echo what others are saying about Nero and Bear's treatment. Don't be forced into making rushed decisions and trust your instincts. 👊 plus isn't there another storm coming today (Wednesday)? don't really want to be travelling in it with such precious cargo.
So lovely to see the beauties enjoying the sun and absolutely delightful to see Nero being playful and cheeky 😊 just shows how comfortable and happy he is with you. Boy is he handsome ❤❤❤
