Does that bring back memories or what. Joy Fair, the gentle giant that no one could catch. My local hero as a kid, who my personal hero, my dad, would take me to watch. Even now when I see a Flatrock car in someone's driveway on a Saturday morning, I know they will be having a great time in Flatrock that night. Rest in peace guys! And Thanks for the memories! It was special.
Wow. I was there that night. I was 15 years old. What a memory....Joy Fair was the greatest racer I've seen in person. He lived in the outside lane at tiny Flat Rock Speedway, but could easily take it on the inside as well. And almost as good on the figure-8 circuit, who can forget Bob Studt.Thank you for posting this.

Excellent
If Joy wasn't at the point, you knew it would not be long before he would be! After all, his car number is #1.
Who was the Fairest driver of all in the mid-west? Joy Fair of Course.
