I love this little stitch book idea. I completed my Bernina 790 Plus stitch book about 1 year ago. It has 1,700 different stitches! I filled up a 4 inch wide 3 ring binder. I covered each page in a plastic sheet protector & each group in a different color (mostly variegated colors so all the stitches were interesting to look at). I began the project just to get me comfortable with using & actually seeing what each one looked like & how I could manipulate the size & length. Now I refer to my book frequently when doing crazy quilts, applique' projects and looking for fun boarder stitches. I would recommend this project to anyone who wants to get the most out of what their machine offers.
I so absolutely lovely the way you have done your stitch book so much interesting and fun. I live in wales Uk and have just brought 570 QE Kaffe , I might add😃can’t wait to make this fun stitch book.
I have always wanted to put together a "stitch book" but had no idea how to make it cute. I love this idea of a "recipe stitch book"! Thank you Gayle!!
Thank You! This is a great idea! Love how this helps learning the various stitches in our machines fun. I’m going to try this for my serger too. As always, great camera work! Your videos always show wonderful details.
I really enjoyed this one Gail. I’ve got the 880 plus and haven’t used it much at all. I’m definitely going to try to make this. So much fun and you are so talented! Thank you for the awesome work you do in educating everyone on these dynamic machines!
Thank you for such great tips. I have a question about one of your stitches I noticed. You stitched out yellow circles in a vertical line. The top circle was the largest and the remaining circles got smaller. I have a Bernina 770 QE and I would LOVE to know what stitch that circle is. Thank you.
I would draw the “lines of paper” with colored pigma pen ink, instead of sewing them to speed up the making of the “paper look” pages of the book. I would also use heavy starch or Terial Magic to stiffen fabric and add stabilization for stitching. Plus a stabilizer on the back of pages.
What type and size needle do you use with the aurifil thread 50 wt. A twin needle would let you stitch the pink lines at once. But alas the blue lines must be done individually unless twin needles come wider than 4mm. Anyway a neat idea.
I used a 75 Embroidery needle. Also, you are correct, we could have don those lines with a twin needle, but this video was not geared towards that technique.
This is the cutest project ever! I can’t wait to give this pa try. I’ve learned so much from you over the years. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and creativity 😊
I love the binder paper pages you've created! Decorative stitching is new for me. Do I need the bobbin thread to be the same color as the top thread or can I use a basic neutral color when I make the decorative stitches? Thank you!
Bobbin thread is fine. Best practice is to use a bobbin thread. 60 wt. www.berninaofnaperville.com/products/bobbin-fill-white?_pos=2&_sid=e41015445&_ss=r
What a lovely idea. Something like this may never rival my grandmothers‘ sampler, as the handstitching is so tiny and flawless, but the idea of lining the ‚paper‘ is just brilliant.
That was an excellent tutorial! Thank you! You’ve given me permission to break the rules and play around. 😂 Being a retired accountant I’m one who begins at 1 then 2 and so forth. I had planned to do my stitch book with that mindset, stitch out all stitches by number, in order. but you’ve inspired me to be creative and do it my own way! Thank you. I needed that creative inspiration. 😊❤
LOve this Idea. However, how did you assembel the pages initialy? Did you double the fabric to make the page or did you just do a single witha stabilizer?
I show the entire book assembly in and he video, but here’s a handout (I always put this in the description of the video) if you need further help understanding: ruclips.net/user/redirect?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqa0lZMUlwRk43Q0sweDRIeWY2dHJHUVl4UFNad3xBQ3Jtc0trY3dBUGtpc0l4TDY5bDRGLTFtQl9RaXdtVG96ZlRqOVVRMm1OSzFaN0dUWG1CZ2VjR2Vhdno0d0JjQzFCYzAzVHhXemFJc0tyNEF0QXV3bk81RFpoSlJVM0dCUzI2ZmtkRWdVQjZEZUU3VS1rSVloUQ&q=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.shopify.com%2Fs%2Ffiles%2F1%2F0265%2F8985%2F5837%2Ffiles%2FFQCFeb2022.pdf%3Fv%3D1644520182&html_redirect=1
Bravo, j'adore vos vidéos, et grâce à vous je découvre plusieurs façons d'utiliser les points. J'adore votre idée de création du livre de points, je vais en faire un, avec ma Bernina 770QE. Un grand bonjour de France. Anneb
I love your videos Gayle and can’t seem to get enough of them! I do have one question: how did you get the serpentine stitch to mirror exactly once you hit the mirror image button? I have tried, but my second serpentine stitch is in a lower or higher location?
I used the pink stitched notepaper lines and lines that up on the notch on my 20D foot. On the new BERNINAS when you mirror the stitch it also goes to the very beginning of the pattern. So make sure when you start your first row, start at the beginning of the pattern and then mirror and then start in the exact same spot as the first pass.
The Frankenstein stitch is exactly what I was looking for and couldnt find it anywhere. I looked for your stitched postcard videos but didnt see the Frankenstein stitch
It’s fusible woven material like interfacing, used to add body to fabric. We sell it here www.berninaofnaperville.com/products/pellon-sf-101-web?_pos=1&_sid=a36ab42c3&_ss=r

Love your idea 👍🏻
Fun project. The sewn notebook paper is such a fun palette to use for stitches. Such a clever idea.
Love love this video, I love so much the decorative stitches on my Bernina machine. Thanks you so much for sharing
I love this idea. It was recommended that I make a stitch book for my new Bernina. This is a neat idea for how to do it.
I absolutely love this idea. Can’t wait to make a stitch book and maybe start looking into upgrading my machine. Thanks for another great video.

What a cute idea… just like you! Thank you for sharing this, it’s awesome to have something light to do while my sewjo is low! 🤗🤗🤗
This is terrific. I especially love that you sewed the notebook paper lines! Thank you!
What a wonderful idea! Nice way to know what those decorative stitches look, manipulate BEFORE we decide we need a bit of flourish on something.
I have always wanted to put together a "stitch book" but had no idea how to make it cute. I love this idea of a "recipe stitch book"! Thank you Gayle!!
Love it, I was wanting to do something like this, thanks for the inspiration!
I have one more year to pay on my car and I plan to go the next day to replace my 1987-930 Record and I can't wait to make a stitch book now!
Thank You! This is a great idea! Love how this helps learning the various stitches in our machines fun. I’m going to try this for my serger too. As always, great camera work! Your videos always show wonderful details.

This is such an adorable and fun idea! Thank you for sharing! This will be so fun to do with my girls 10 & 8 who love to sew as well!
Great! This was just what I’ve been wanting to do. Very cute results. I need to play and enjoy my machine more.
Love this idea!!❤️. Yes! Handout please!!! Thanks for another great video!!!

Isn’t it wonderful how all of us would create in different ways? Thank you for your comment.

Yes that is a good idea because I write them on paper and draw the stitches. This is more cool.

I would like to see more of this page design book.
We showed everything in the video. To see more you will need to start your own book with your favorite stitches 😊
Can you do one on using the double or triple needles ?
This is the cutest project ever! I can’t wait to give this pa try. I’ve learned so much from you over the years. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and creativity 😊

Personally I always match the bobbin thread. I think it is worth the extra effort. But that's just me.
Learned a lot! Especially liked the demonstration of “pattern end” and the little square you made at the end. 🙏 Always appreciate your videos❣️
What a lovely idea. Something like this may never rival my grandmothers‘ sampler, as the handstitching is so tiny and flawless, but the idea of lining the ‚paper‘ is just brilliant.
Thank you so much for the tutorial! I always learn something new about my machine every time I watch your videos.

Yay!!! Exactly what I needed and wanted!!! Thanks so very much for doing this!!!!!
Awesome video! Thank you Gayle. The real stitches are so much more attractive stitched out as a reference.

Loved your stitch book and the way you made it looked like paper Fab. Thank you. Wales Uk
What brand of variegated thread did you use? A cotton or a polyester?
Aurifil 50wt cotton www.berninaofnaperville.com/products/aurifil-variegated-thread-50wt-1300m-bubblegum?_pos=31&_sid=8f18194b7&_ss=r
Thank you very much for the inspiration, Merry Christmas to you & yours🎄
Beautiful!!! Reminds me of a bullet journal...but for decorative stitches.😊

Thanks for the great ideas. I don't have a Bernina but a lot of the things 'translates' to my Janome and Brother machines.
Great idea, thanks

I LOVE THIS!!! I plan to do this thank you so much!!
I love love love this video! Thank you!!
Does my 880 Sterling edition Machine stitch vertically?
Can you please rephrase your question? Do you mean multidirectional sewing? My 880 plus is similar to your sterling edition.
Yes, multidirectional. Sorry.
@@dianathefiberfan yes your sterling does this. All multidirectional stitches are represented by the folders that have a cross in them.
Very cool. Learned something new today. Thanks
Looks like a lot of fun 💐
Très belle vidéo
Another great video Gayle.
Hello, few video cannot open it 😢
THANK YOU FOR HELPING US LOVE THIS FOUND THIS TODAY
Did you just use one layer of fabric?
Fabric backed with sf-101 for the paper lines and then medium tear away under that for the decorative stitching
Love it
You look so pretty in this video!
Are there some good stitches for quilts of Valor?
There are many stitches on the Bernina machines. I recommend stitching them out to see what would be appropriate for your organization.
SO CUTE
What is sf 101 ?
