Pioneers used to ride these for mileesss
The clouds at the end of the video are called noctilucent clouds, Latin for Night Shining clouds. They're the highest known type of cloud that can form, made of ice particles that form 80 kilometers in the air. You might be able to see them if you're in latitudes of 50 - 75 from May to August about an hour or so after sunset/before sunrise, though they're a little rare :)

I saw some earlier this year on the south coast of England and they’re darn beautiful! The ice particles are formed because of falling space dust! So cool

Yea, it's a really interesting phenomena. I have seen clouds like that myself, but they were in the shape of a gigantic angel. Almost a religious experience! (Nature has that effect on me. If God is real, he's most noticable by taking a hike alone in nature.)

Fun fact, cats have a "non-lethal terminal velocity". As long as the fall far enough, they won't die.
However, the distance required to achieve this is from jumping off the top of a 7-story building, anything lower will certainly result in injury or even death, but anything higher allows them to reach this.

2:21 They're called noctilucent clouds, and they're extremely high up at about 50 miles above the earth. They appear only just after sunset as the sunlight is refracted through all the ice crystals in the clouds creating the rainbow effect.

Fun(?) fact: That short moment when the cat is flailing around in the air before splaying out its legs is the most dangerous part of the fall. Once a healthy cat has twisted itself upright and spreads out like that, it can't achieve a high enough terminal velocity to seriously hurt itself as long as the surface it lands on is sufficiently flat. It'd get bruised, maybe crack a rib or so, but it would survive and be able to walk away. It's usually only during those first couple of meters, after it's picked up speed but before it's had time to orient itself, that a cat is in danger of being seriously hurt from a fall. I can't imagine this one would have found a suitable place to land in those stands, though, so I'm glad those people could help it!
Cats reach terminal velocity after about 5 stories. Also cats can very much hurt themselves after terminal velocity. There is a 90% survival rate for cats at terminal velocity. We can assume that plenty of injuries happen in those percentages. I think you are thinking of a squirrel.
The terminal velocity of a cat in that position is about 60 mph. That’s more than enough for a lethal fall. If falls weren’t dangerous, cats wouldn’t be afraid of them.

@@evilsharkey8954 We've all heard miraculous cat survival stories, but another common injury is a broken lower jaw. Their head can hit the ground pretty hard. Falls are often lethal.

We're fans of the "River Crossing" events, using snowmobiles to cross the Fox River near us. It's a Spring ritual, clears out all the winter salt and gunk before storing the sled. Many don't make it, and floats are attached to the seat rail to mark where they went down; they're retrieved after the event. If they sink, it's no big deal as the motors are removed and cleared out before being stored for the summer. Some couples will enter, dressed in suits and fine dresses, and it's a great time for all.
