I've played this game two times now and won both games. Lots of fun. I love that the cards give you so many choices. Do you focus on building up your fields, expand your pig stalls, go for market shipments, or get powerful special abilities? So many choices. My one complaint would that the game does not come with enough money or victory tokens. You constantly have to keep upgraded them for higher token. Both in a two and three player game, we keep running out of the low end coins and victory tokens. Besides that, the game is great.
The box art might not make it fly off the shelf, but I really like it. And the bits are bland, but it's very cool how you put them in different spots to mean different things.
Wonderful box art. Doesn't look as though it's been left out in the sun to me. I just watched you play MTG Plainswalkers and I'm betting there's more going on in this box than that one.
Dice drafting reminded me El Gaucho (of recent reviews) and a bit of Castles of Burgundy. Drafting is always a good mechanism :) I'm not so fascinated with having 4 options on one card though. But i haven't played.
It's statements like "shockingly you are trying to get the most points" and "...it doesn't make a game like this good" that really expose Tom's absolute total bias against a Euro game. ...This game is about mechanics... Please just review the game, sorry it's not mindless zombie hunting or some wildly thematic game you love. Just review the game and give it the same chance that you would something you are expecting to like. This really gives me the shits about Tom's Euro reviews. They are almost not worth watching because you can hear in his voice, the snide remarks and bias innuendo that infer the game is stupid or has ridiculous assumptions. Doesn't matter if he likes it or not... He even said he liked it. You'd never know from the lack lustre review and tone.
Dave Gray There is no such thing as unbiased review. The very existence of a review is constructed around one's opinion and biases. I think it says a lot about Tom that he can give a positive review to a game within a genre that isn't his favorite. Get a grip.
True no such thing as something completely unbiased. But I don't think there is the necessity to make statements and present a tone that implies negativity towards a genre or specific game. Sorry but this review reeks of pointed one liners and statements that are far from being neutral or fair. You don't have to like a game or genre to present it in a more positive way. There is nothing wrong with my grip.
+Dave Gray Haha! You do mean his delivery of a very positive review of a game with a bland-looking box that many people would just pass on...yes? That's funny.
No component drop and sleeved cards?! Who's copy is this?
Yishai Servula And the very gentle gavel hit!

The new Kickstarter looks beautiful
Can't wait till this one hits wide release. Been waiting to try it for half a year now!
I'm here because of the 2022 Kickstarter.
Nice pronunciation, Tom!
Eric Kimball I sure am glad Zee told him how to pronounce this one ;)
How does this hold up against Agricola? I'm looking at both.
Hey Tom, where did you get those shelves?!? Your board games fit so well and I want to find some! Thx!
Ikea Kallax
"some kind of farm..." well yes, "granja" literally means farm
Word game? Typo perhaps?
Yes, what could it have been?

Hahaha, stock market word game!
Jason Coeyman Those info cards are just notoriously unreliable.

come now... I've commented on Tom's bias in the past but even I who love Euro games introduce them with shockingly you win with the most points.
As I said it wasn't just the statement it is the delivery. That with the other comments and general tone.
